  1. The Process DID work, they just fucked up some of the picks, and had the misfortune of two overall No 1's who for whatever reason completely lost their will to play the sport. Even with all that, the Jimmy Butler team was right there with the Kawhi Raptors and were good enough to win the trophy. A couple other teams, including last year, were maybe Finals worthy but wouldn't have won it. Some fans here in Philly complained at the time, but they actually built a very loyal following both for "Process guys" like Covington and McConnell, along with the new draft picks (even Fultz and Ben). The fans feel more fucked over by the NBA for forcing Hinkie out and sticking us with Colangelo. By now, be it karma or whatever, the wheels are off and there is no competent leadership. The owners have been distracted by Fanatics, crypto/NFT/metaverse, the Redskins and now trying to build a new arena. Embiid remains a great player and hilarious troll. But he and the team are headed for some down years.
  2. This show played like a college project where the kids scrambled to finish before the deadline. Way too much airtime for Liucci ("blue collar school" set me off). Wonder if Zwerneman is pissed he wasn't featured at all. Also wonder if any Manziels were paid or otherwise enticed to participate in this. I would call it a fluff project, they used most of the bad stuff to elicit sympathy for him rather than point out he was and is a scamming pos
  3. I forgot to post that I finally saw The National (Philly) after many years of either work conflicts or ticket price robbery. Great show with 25 songs including the encore. I was a little jealous of the previous night who got Don't Swallow the Cap, but our set list was awesome too. The Beths opened and were a lot of fun. Side story, I was a bit distracted by the woman in front of us having a large-font text conversation that I must say evoked all the Vic Mackey POF threads. And her appearance would also fit the legend of Vic. Here's what I saw before we moved to a better view of the band: Him: It would be impossible for me to turn you out. But I can make you feel good Her: Why impossible? My love is the shit Him: I'm a freak tho Her: Daddy gets what he wants
  4. Saw him at a City Winery a few months ago. He sounds great and plays all the hits. Probably will have some good Texas stories too
  5. I only saw the last 2-3 minutes because whatever I was watching wrapped up at that time. So my only reaction was - a young blonde chick sent two black women onto the block? In episode 1? smh
  6. WTF is this Wyoming AD talking about? Stanford/Cal are "unique" and so maybe "not ideally suited" for...something? I can only read this as a dog whistle to their fans assuring them their towns won't be invaded by woke people on a football weekend
  7. Unpredictable suspense film with great settings
  8. I still think he'll be quietly (at first) hired as a "special assistant" with a Big Ten team after the season starts. These psychos will do anything for an edge in a game or two. I didn't realize how bad NU has been the last couple years, so not sure about his HC prospects in 2024. I am sure execs at Fox and ESPN are having internal conversations about how much he'd cost and when it's safe to offer him. Spoiler alert: Fox actually doesn't give a fuck about the last part
  9. True, I didn't realize how bad they've been the last couple years. Guess they weren't sex-hazing enough.
  10. Reminds me of the Chris Beard situation in that they kinda have to boot him, as a legit reputable university. But he should have no problem being scooped up quickly in a new job. At this date, probably needs to be special advisor someplace (tOSU?) then has his pick of HC jobs next season.
  11. That letter is from more than three weeks ago, so there is still a lot to untangle
  12. Every single move they make is cost-focused. Nothing to do with performance or even ratings. Most likely they replace these folks with younger, cheaper and even stupider former players/coaches.
  13. UGA players still driving fast & furious Really well reported ESPN.com story. They went through 911 calls and watched body cam footage. Lots of players named including current starting RB Kendall Milton ($200K Lamborghini) and DL Mykel Williams.
  14. 1 in 3 is exactly what we're trying to avoid
  15. Finally this is put to bed, the UCL failures. The last two matches show what a grind a full, full season is on these teams. City weren't great in FA Cup final, nor today. It took some unusual heroics like a fantastic pass by Akanji and a monster last few minutes from Ederson. It may have helped City to play Bayern and Real prior to the final, when they weren't so drained.
  16. I saw that, he actually did fine the first couple minutes but just couldn't help release the stupid..."It was more than 20 years ago" jfc
  17. Penn Quakers cinderella run? Up 3-0 early on Samford, Auburn is out and USM has a loss
  18. How's the saying go...talk s'mo shit, Grant Williams. Jimmy will carry that over to the MIA games too. DUmbass
  19. I think it is that simple. Connor lived with his mother who had a mental breakdown and was institutionalized. He was never close to Logan and is pretty much seen as the dim bulb by the whole family.
  20. A Sixers autopsy is impossible. As I've said before, The Process totally worked in terms of getting them the picks and financial flexibility to build a champion. But they botched so many of those decisions, some of which was forced on them by the NBA installing an incompetent Colangelo for a while. No one thought Simmons or Fultz would be such disasters, OTOH everyone called Jah Okafor a reach and trading Mikal Bridges insanity. Ownership and the front office (even Sam Hinkie) are crypto/metaverse believers and the franchise is a good metaphor -- shiny objects and lots of promises, but ultimately no better results than anyone else.
  21. Man, I wish Embiid was facing Phoenix in a series and not Boston. But I stay out of the MVP arguments, I actually think it's fine that they spread it around among the 5-6 guys who are clearly in their own category of dominance. It's not as random as the Heisman, but it's still pretty impossible to get it "right".
  22. Have we even seen a gun in three seasons of this show? Wish other producers would take note but not holding my breath
