  1. WTF is this Wyoming AD talking about? Stanford/Cal are "unique" and so maybe "not ideally suited" for...something? I can only read this as a dog whistle to their fans assuring them their towns won't be invaded by woke people on a football weekend
  2. Sixers 2023-24 preview
  3. Unpredictable suspense film with great settings
  4. I still think he'll be quietly (at first) hired as a "special assistant" with a Big Ten team after the season starts. These psychos will do anything for an edge in a game or two. I didn't realize how bad NU has been the last couple years, so not sure about his HC prospects in 2024. I am sure execs at Fox and ESPN are having internal conversations about how much he'd cost and when it's safe to offer him. Spoiler alert: Fox actually doesn't give a fuck about the last part
  5. True, I didn't realize how bad they've been the last couple years. Guess they weren't sex-hazing enough.
  6. Reminds me of the Chris Beard situation in that they kinda have to boot him, as a legit reputable university. But he should have no problem being scooped up quickly in a new job. At this date, probably needs to be special advisor someplace (tOSU?) then has his pick of HC jobs next season.
  7. That letter is from more than three weeks ago, so there is still a lot to untangle
  8. Every single move they make is cost-focused. Nothing to do with performance or even ratings. Most likely they replace these folks with younger, cheaper and even stupider former players/coaches.
  9. UGA players still driving fast & furious Really well reported ESPN.com story. They went through 911 calls and watched body cam footage. Lots of players named including current starting RB Kendall Milton ($200K Lamborghini) and DL Mykel Williams.
  10. 1 in 3 is exactly what we're trying to avoid
  11. Finally this is put to bed, the UCL failures. The last two matches show what a grind a full, full season is on these teams. City weren't great in FA Cup final, nor today. It took some unusual heroics like a fantastic pass by Akanji and a monster last few minutes from Ederson. It may have helped City to play Bayern and Real prior to the final, when they weren't so drained.
  12. I saw that, he actually did fine the first couple minutes but just couldn't help release the stupid..."It was more than 20 years ago" jfc
  13. Penn Quakers cinderella run? Up 3-0 early on Samford, Auburn is out and USM has a loss
  14. How's the saying go...talk s'mo shit, Grant Williams. Jimmy will carry that over to the MIA games too. DUmbass
  15. I think it is that simple. Connor lived with his mother who had a mental breakdown and was institutionalized. He was never close to Logan and is pretty much seen as the dim bulb by the whole family.
  16. A Sixers autopsy is impossible. As I've said before, The Process totally worked in terms of getting them the picks and financial flexibility to build a champion. But they botched so many of those decisions, some of which was forced on them by the NBA installing an incompetent Colangelo for a while. No one thought Simmons or Fultz would be such disasters, OTOH everyone called Jah Okafor a reach and trading Mikal Bridges insanity. Ownership and the front office (even Sam Hinkie) are crypto/metaverse believers and the franchise is a good metaphor -- shiny objects and lots of promises, but ultimately no better results than anyone else.
  17. Man, I wish Embiid was facing Phoenix in a series and not Boston. But I stay out of the MVP arguments, I actually think it's fine that they spread it around among the 5-6 guys who are clearly in their own category of dominance. It's not as random as the Heisman, but it's still pretty impossible to get it "right".
  18. Have we even seen a gun in three seasons of this show? Wish other producers would take note but not holding my breath
  19. Some journalist I trust tweeted that the Cruz "lift up in prayer" tweets are not real
  20. To follow up, M83 was a fine show (90 minutes) with no sign of illness for Gonzalez. He didn't make much audience talk, but I've never seen them so maybe that's just his nature. Also, Tuesday (4/25) at Parish in Austin is Black Belt Eagle Scout, a band I've mentioned before though Surly might not exactly be the audience. Indigenous female led folk/rock. Lots of catchy riffs at the live show.
  21. Saw it in theater on a double-date, still watchable
  22. Yikes, I have tickets this Friday in Philadelphia. It looks like they played Houston without incident last night, but no explanation of what happened in Austin.
  23. Chelsea-Real Madrid is on CBS and Univision. I think the other one is only Paramount+ streaming
  24. Pretty much wire-to-wire domination. City shouldn't have to kill themselves to finish this off next week, which is immediately followed by Sheffield FA Cup final and the massive Arsenal clash.
