  1. I could be proven wrong, but we generally don't burn much. It's more destruction of infrastructure like poles, signs, buses. Some place will get looted but it will be something random like a luggage store or cigar shop. I don't think much happens if we lose, especially since it's supposed to start raining around the end of the game.
  2. Omaha band that flashed in the early 2000s. Conor Oberst was a founding member. I've seen them a couple times and it's a really fun, high energy short set. I tried to post Agenda Suicide and Evil Voices, but those videos are "age restricted and only on YouTube".
  3. There was a Matisse Thybulle mural on a bar in Philly, and he went and tagged it "Thank you Philly" in the middle of the night: https://www.instagram.com/p/CoetLTtp_uW/ Fun guy, despite his wellness anti-vax position. Defensive menace, but not really useful on a playoff team.
  4. The Irving/Houston shows for YYYs have The Faint opening, wish I could get down there. No northeast dates for that tour as yet
  5. Here we go again with the City financial witch hunt. It really feels like the Directors' Cup where Stanford kept winning no matter how they tweaked the rules, until they finally shook things up enough that the Texas types can win it (yay!). But Stanford still competes for it, just under more equitable rules. Admittedly I don't understand FFP despite reading quite a bit about it last time. I just don't get how the same evidence keeps getting brought out for years while City (and others) continue to sign players as usual. If there was an obvious infraction, step in and nullify the deal(s). Meanwhile more than half the league exists just to hopefully pull a home upset once in a while. It's bizarre to watch from an American standpoint.
  6. Yah, our 87 win Phillies that hadn't done shit in a decade surging to a 6-game World Series defeat was so heartbreaking Losing to the Chiefs would be harder to take as we are top seed and favored in the game, but Andy Reid is still appreciated in Philly and again this was a completely unheralded team a few months ago. So unless it's a referee/replay fiasco (always possible in the NFL - for either side) I'm afraid y'all haters won't have too many tears to lap up next week
  7. Agent says charges will be dropped "first thing in the morning"
  8. Played at WVU, this incident was reported in Dec. 2019 and he was "welcomed" (per press release) to OKST a month later. He wasn't officially charged so it's possible his name stayed under the radar all this time. Two year starter in Stillwater, undrafted last man to make the Eagles roster and played some special teams snaps in one game. Hasn't been on active roster in the playoffs.
  9. Even in Philly, Hurts doubters were everywhere at the start of the season. They gradually got on board and by mid-year it was obvious he's legit among the top tier of QBs (if you admit that QBs are allowed to run and that should be considered when ranking them). He has improved every year and his teammates love playing with him.
  10. Next level denialism here. Sorry mid-career Montana and Young weren't available. And the Eagles were smart enough to get a play off before the Niners - who earned their way there - could challenge an obviously huge play. Otherwise surely the troubled Eagles (16-1 with Hurts, 6-0 against playoff teams with Hurts) would have been EXPOSED
  11. We don't know if she was aggressive with him, nor if he showed restraint. I don't think there are any details other than the initial police report. Shanahan said he's playing if healthy FWIW
  12. @ztejas I should have clarified "jersey chasers who actually succeed in reaching girlfriend status" as in this case. At that point, I don't want to hear about dude navigating troubled waters, he chose to keep the relationship going. Obviously we barely have any details on Charles' case right now, this is just a general discussion
  13. Sigh, I thought this board had gotten much better about the victim blaming. It's a Longhorn so we all want him to succeed. But the vast majority of times the athlete skates through this with some public embarrassment, while the girl has to rebuild her whole life. Y'all love to talk about jersey chasers who have the cray, as if there aren't twice as many entitled alpha pro athletes who have never had to learn how to manage a relationship, always have other options and don't hesitate to show off their strength by putting hands on a woman. Not saying that's Charles - just that it's stupid to pretend it's the athlete who is being attacked in these cases.
  14. I'm no expert, but is it possible 44 is set back enough to make Kittle eligible? (not covering him up). And that block as shown is only one yard downfield so I think that's legal too.
  15. Time for another round of "Handle it internally" vs. "We care about women" Beard is a good example of, whatever happened, if it's enough for her to call police, then it's enough to keep you off the field/court for a while. Even if he apologizes, she recants, etc. Yes I'm an Eagles fan, but I'd say the same if it was Fletcher Cox
  16. Lol I have the same thought. Everyone's like "it's following the game perfectly!" and I'm like "are you sure you didn't accidentally pop in a DVD, because this is a movie".
  17. People love sports and don't wan't to just "check out". As keysphonewallet said in his self-titled thread, many are "born into it." That thread also would point out that for UT football to swim in the abyss so long is at least as frustrating. The Horns aren't at the mercy of one narcissist owner.
  18. Purdy vs Hurts: Doubt next week will have this many points...how did ISU receiver not hold onto ball for the win
  19. Eagles fan, I think most of us just can't root for Dallas even though they would be the preferred opponent as we try to return to the Super Bowl. I prefer the Cowboys stuck in this wild card level state for eternity, so actually making it to next week would be a disturbance in that force. My guess is the Eagles would be around a 3.5 favorite over DAL and like a 1.0 over SF, but a lot depends how tonight plays out.
  20. Nowhere near the FB experience, but it's publicity
  21. Dallas would host NYG so that's kind of a no-brainer
  22. I'm not a gamer so I have to treat it as simply a TV show. The preface and 2003 stuff was really well done. After that I just got Fear the Walking Dead vibes. Yeah we get it, the true enemies are the surviving humans. Cast and reviews are good enough I guess I won't bail just yet.
