  1. Really recommend the new docs Keep Sweet and Gladbeck, both mentioned above. Both are shocking and disturbing in their own ways, and both have plenty of original footage and photos to really take us into those worlds. Cliff notes: Fundamentalist LDS are evil monsters...and 80s Germans were incredibly chill about just hanging out and smoking with armed perpetrators of an active hostage situation.
  2. I really wanted to like it, being set in Philly and featuring some Sixers, but it all felt cliche to me. Granted, I pretty much never enjoy movies centered on baseball/basketball/football, probably because the action is laughable and the storylines are never realistic. Add the fact that there are so many familiar faces, some playing themselves and others not, Hustle just never held my interest as a movie.
  3. I went to a game there a few years ago. There are lots and garages in that cluster of buildings beyond the track stadium. It's probably similar to TCU in terms of game day car access.
  4. What was his intention then if not to get the ball out of trouble, in whatever direction he could? By the definition they gave on air, it should have counted. But we didn't get a single look at the initial pass which may have been offside anyway. I think NBC/EPL shows more replays than this.
  5. What's crazy is City play like soulless robots too. Once something goes wrong, it's "ERROR...DOES NOT COMPUTE..." and they have no ability to just gut out a few minutes without allowing things to get even worse. Doesn't matter who subbed in, there was no one on City who was going to take matters into his own hands and get the winner/equalizer
  6. Wright responded to the one-and-done environment by making sure his team was stocked with multi-year players who fit his system. He may have decided that keeping it going with the double-whammy of NIL and transfer portal aren't worth the effort after what he's accomplished. Looks like they're trying to emulate the K-Scheyer plan where you plug in the young assistant and hope the strength of the brand carries on. (I have to grudgingly admit, Ohio State FB is probably the best example; OU had it until Riley bailed on them)
  7. I did the same! Wife was mad at me for telling her we had two left and all of a sudden the menu is pitching us other shows. It was a great watch, but reading critic/audience speculation somehow makes me less interested in future seasons. Kind of like Westworld where the more they show behind the curtain, the explanations can't live up to the fascination of the first season.
  8. Dolphins training complex is in Miami Gardens, so it's possible they were working out right by that I-95 exit
  9. I read Descent Into Hell last year. Huge collection of first person accounts compiled by the Okinawa newspaper. It gets repetitive, but like your dad described to you, that was what happened...Okinawans forced into the military, forced out of their homes by same military all while being bombarded by US planes and ships for months at a time. They essentially lived in tiny, unsanitary caves every day, only sneaking out at night to scavenge for food and water, or on long hikes in hopes of finding someplace safer. Pointless suffering.
  10. It doesn't look like we ever discussed the buy in. The 2019 thread indicates it was $25 that year, so that's what I sent
  11. I'm liking this more than expected. Don't mind the voice, she's great at making everyone nervous including the viewer.
  12. Good looking out! I assumed I was dead with all the SPUs ahead of me.
  13. I'm fine with either of those. I forget what it was in the past
  14. I printed out the worst quality bracket I could find for some reason. Lucky I can read any of the numbers
  15. I misunderstood the tiebreaker, sorry...switch it to St Mary's for me
  16. Not to confuse things more, but I have to go out again, but here are my three teams in order of priority: Jacksonville State CSU Fullerton St Peters So after @henrygandorf picks, I'll take one from that list and pass straight to @Capn81
  17. Tennessee 3 Purdue 3 UConn 5 St Mary's 5 Michigan State 7 Davidson 10 Loyola 10 Miami 10 Tiebreaker: Wisconsin 3
  18. I'll join with these picks: 1 Gonzaga 2 Villanova 3 Purdue 4 UCLA 5 UConn 6 Alabama 7 USC 8 UNC 9 Marquette 10 Miami 11 Iowa State 12 UAB 13 Vermont 14 Colgate 15 Jacksonville St 16 Norfolk State WC (6) Saint Mary's
  19. He was OK, but missed some open 3's and had a killer telegraphed pass down the stretch. It was a great trade, but Harden alone doesn't really guarantee the Sixers anything past the 2nd round. And D'Andre Jordan is horrific. Anyway, I'll take Gonzaga
  20. Thanks Wulaw for the selections to keep it going. Y'all snagged a bunch of mine right before I left, the game is the game. I'm around for maybe 30 minutes. Sixers somehow lost at home to Denver with Embiid playing great and Jokic being only a semi-factor. Glad I don't go into Rockets threads where I assume the Harden & D'Andre haters are LOLing at us. Fun game though.
  21. Just sent a list of 10 teams to hopefully get through the prime time hours before I get back. Thanks!
