  3. In a rice cooker, rice plus cut sausage. When close to done, add greens (e.g., spinach, kale). Boring but extremely low effort.
  4. My wife is obsessed with fat-fire and likely do it in next year or two. I will likely work until I die, but I am am a masochist.
  5. I am surprised how many of you fuckers are still here or alive. Haven't posted in 2-3+ years so had to create a new username
  6. Always thought their BBQ was overrated especially compared what else you can get in Austin
  7. Despite my best effort, we are effectively doing this for a week next month. Any suggestions? We have a private house rented with a chef, etc. Not as bad as an all-inclusive but close to it. I think the house is 45 mins south of Cancun. Where can I escape to that is actually fun and not a tourist shit hole?
  8. bump! bought an xbox past year. haven't played video games in over a decade except on ipad.
  9. 2M bbq has declined a lot in the past year. Was consistently hitting out the park during covid but barely worth it these past two visits.
  10. Counter Cafe is my current favorite but we go to Cafe Java on the weekends as it is far north for me.

Went to J prime a few weeks ago without reading much. What a disaster. Terrible food and felt like Dallas vibes. Planning to go to Jeffery's soon if I can ever plan ahead for reservations
  12. Lucia is still great and the neighborhood vibe still rocks.

Had Knife recently as it had been years. Food is amazing while service is a disaster. Not sure why you all don't give this place more love. Price/quality is outstanding but again service was a trainwreck.
  14. More bankruptcy and going to jail! https://www.bizjournals.com/austin/news/2023/03/04/nate-paul-mitte-foundation-criminal-contempt.html
  15. Company raised a small round from a local Austin VC a few years ago. Thankfully, we have always operated conservatively. Market is really challenged right now in VC but it takes a lot of effort even in strong markets to raise from VC. As others have said, the less you raise then the better position you will be to control and scale the business. With that said, most VCs are just trend watchers so even if dumb follow the broader market trends in pitching. I have found the number of SaaS companies that have rebranded to AI is hilarious yet effective. It takes an extraordinary amount of effort to fund raise so plan it taking 3-6 months. We get a lot of inbound to invest in our company. While not looking to take outside capital, it takes an significant amount of effort to prep for those meetings to ensure it goes well. To give orders of magnitude, most funds that reach out to me now to invest have approx ~$1b AUM.
  16. We do most of our digital marketing in-house but found most agencies are terrible. You are better hiring contractors directly for specific skillset. It is a lot more work but way more cost efficient and better results. Lots of BS in online marketing so ask for proof of results. Given the state of online marketing (way down), it is easier to find really good talent for cheap now.
