  1. I heard this too but wasn't sure what to make of it. Nahlin said it was potentially something we'd be happy about, but... it's Nahlin. So almost certainly bullshit.
  2. Stop taking the @Helobious bait. You guys should know better.
  3. This little guy?
  4. CBS has published it's SEC win totals: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/2025-sec-win-totals-odds-picks-predictions-for-every-team-as-alabama-georgia-texas-lead-pack/ Bama - 9.5 Pig - 5.5 Barn - 7.5 Gators - 6.5 UGA - 9.5 UK - 4.5 LSU - 8.5 MSU - 3.5 (0 conference wins projected) Misery - 7.5 OU - 6.5 Ole Miss - 8.5 USCe - 7.5 Vols - 9.5 Aggies - 7.5 Vandy - 4.5 Texas: Over/under 9.5 Wins: San Jose State, UTEP, Sam Houston, at Florida, Oklahoma, at Kentucky, at Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Texas A&M Losses: at Ohio State, at Georgia Analysis: Before we discuss Arch Madness, let's focus on a few issues the Longhorns must address this offseason. Texas breaks in a new offensive line and must replace two of its top three receivers and two stellar defensive tackles. That said, the Longhorns have recruited exceptionally well and hit on some big pickups in the transfer portal, setting Arch Manning up for a big debut season as the full-time starting quarterback. Many will project Texas' season based on its performance in the season opener at Ohio State, but we'll use that as a barometer rather than a judgment call. In fact, we're picking a loss. The toughest games on the schedule are at Georgia and Florida. We see a path to 10 wins, but barely. Pick: Over 9.5 (-200)
  5. Nice. So he talked to teams beforehand and they told him not to run another 40 if he didn't feel 100%. Makes complete sense and also suggests that he doesn't need to run a great 40 time.
  6. In addition to a distinct lack of JAGs compared to a few years ago, it's also nice to see ages distributed evenly, especially on defense. We have a good mix of veterans, risers, and quality neophytes. Just good goddamn healthy roster right there.
  7. Honestly, he's been my favorite longhorn since Sam. Even more than Bijan, although I'm aware that's practically sacrilege.
  8. That may no longer be the pull that it once was.
  9. One day at a time man. I'll not drink today if you don't either.
  10. This list is far too generous to A&M. They wish teams like Oklahoma State and TCU were their peer group for football. OSU has had consistent football success for 20 years, and has won a conference title and played for several others. Same for TCU, who (unlike A&M) has made and even won a game in the CFP. Utah and Oregon have also won conference titles. Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, ISU, and Wake Forest have all at least played for conference titles. A&M hasn't even come close to doing shit in football since before Hitler's demise. They are on par with Texas Tech and Washington State, at best. Even when they whine about their lack of success, they overestimate their importance.
  11. This hire seems fine. I don’t love it, but I get it. He’s better than Terry and I’m sure there are good reasons for taking him over some other potential hires. I’m whelmed and willing to see how he does before reacting. It’s like getting a really nice new fleece for Christmas. Not exciting but you can’t complain.
  12. Nah man, they’ll be patting themselves on the back for making a deeper run than sip
  13. Now that we’re all lathered up for Lloyd… it’s gonna end up being Miller, isn’t it?
  14. This conversation goes the same fucking way every time and @Sbbruin should know better. A: "Texas should never have fired Rick Barnes, best coach they ever had and he's killing it at Tennessee." B: "Sure, but look at his last 7 years at Texas. It was time to move on." A: "But Terry is awful and isn't even as good as Barnes was in those years." B: "Except we didn't replace Barnes with Terry. We replaced him with Smart, then Beard, and then gave Terry the job as a thank you for handling the Beard debacle." Anyone familiar with the recent history of Texas basketball already knows all this shit. I don't know why we get baited into repeating it again and again. Keeping a great coach is the goal, but when he has almost a decade of mediocre to bad seasons, it's time to move on. It's what's best for him and what's best for us. And yeah, sometimes you downgrade with the replacement. It sucks, but that's the risk you run. I'd still rather take the risk and try to improve our situation than just sit there and learn to be content with mediocrity.
  15. Look, I'm just proud anytime Gerry posts media without accidentally posting a link to milf porn. Even if the milf porn is of respectable quality.
  16. Bobby: Tommy Lloyd is a real possibility for the hire. Gerry: Posts a picture of Chris Farley saying "Tommy likey" in Tommy Boy. Surly: What could this possibly mean?
