  1. I understand that insiders are dealing with a kind of tension. Their job is to tell us what is actually going on - that's what we pay them for. But they can't tell us everything relayed in confidence, because that could cost them their access. That's not an easy line to walk and I am sympathetic. But don't piss on my neck and tell me it's raining. I've got eyes and I'm not dumb. To be clear, however, I'm not just talking about Bobby. He's in the same jackpot as the rest of them, but he usually shoots it pretty straight and will tell you what he really thinks.
  2. I know that Sark has built up a lot of goodwill with our insiders. And that goodwill is more than justified. But it seems like they've abandoned a lot of the critical thinking skills they developed when we had shittier coaches. The offense is alarmingly bad right now. The fact that the staff doesn't seem to be pissed off about it is even more alarming. I would hope they are as shocked about this situation as we are.
  3. I would argue that at 71, Cutcliffe is entirely too old. But we just hired 68 year old Duane Akina so maybe not.
  4. He had some pretty solid punt returns on Saturday. Glad to see some progress on special teams.
  5. Recruiting > Winning Honestly, this is more clever than gross. And to the extent it's gross, it's not even in the top 10 of the grossest things you've said this season.
  6. What's weird is that if you go back and watch the first quarter again, Manning was more or less fine. The run game was fine. The WR didn't have to do much, but they looked okay. Even the OL was doing its job most of the time (except Stroh, who still managed to fall on his ass every third play). The offense didn't cover itself in glory, and it was disconcerting that they weren't demolishing UTEP, but it all looked okay. But at the beginning of the second quarter the offense was in the red zone. Only about 5 yards to go. Manning misses a wide open shot to Wingo - he just throws it too far and to the outside. One of those throws that you want back, but whatever. The very next play is the one where he has Livingstone open, won't throw the ball, scrambles for like 8 seconds and then throw across his body for a pick. It was 4th and 3, so it didn't make a huge difference, but that was when it all fell apart for the offense. Arch wasn't the same after that, and the rest of the team just seemed to feed off of that lack of confidence.
  7. Gerry said this morning that it isn't an arm or shoulder injury and it is related to the injury he suffered last season.
  8. Building on that - Baxter is likely out until Florida.
  9. If they are willingly coming to this website then I think they should already know what to expect. This place isn't called Cheery Horns. No one promised them a rose garden.
  10. Last week, I said I wanted to see Arch connect with Wingo a few more times and for the OL to cut down on the penalties. They accomplished both of those things. So this week, I would like to see Arch play with a modicum of competence and confidence. I don't need VY levels of swagger or Colt levels of consistency, just play like the same guy he was against MSU last season. Get him out of the game at half time, regardless of how he is playing, and give Caldwell and maybe even Lacey some reps under center. I never want to see Stroh on the field again. The experiment has failed and it is time to move on.
  11. Delightfully on brand, thank you. Truly a bright spot in an otherwise dark thread.
  12. He's always been this way. Playcalling against TCU in 2022 felt punitive. I think Sark is a good dude but I also think he has an angry streak and I think it is most manifest when the team is failing to execute the layups he's feeding them. Maybe I'm just another fucking idiot on this board, but playcalling does not seem like the issue to me. At all. Some plays get called because they're setting up later plays, not because they're necessarily going to succeed on that down. Sark does that a lot and always has. But what Sark does on offense only works if it's executed. If the players don't execute the play that is supposed to be the payoff for all that set up, then it doesn't mean dick and the whole thing falls apart. If you don't like that style of offense - which, for the record, is not an unreasonable position - then the only fix is a different playcaller or an entirely new OC. You're not talking about changes to game management, you're talking about a wholesale revision to the offensive philosophy. Stroh needs to be gone. Drop Conner Roberson in at C and move Hutson to LG. Or anything that gets that guy off the field. I cannot believe how "cute" Sark is being about that guy's level of play. He should be irate and Flood should be working to save his job.
  13. He's unacceptable. That picture posted above in the thread? Where him, Hutson, and Campbell are all on the ground? It's because Stroh tripped over his own feet and tripped the other two. He is actively damaging the performance of the offensive line more than anyone on the defensive lines we've played. Him still being on the field is exhibit A in the case to fire Flood.
  14. Goddamn how old are you? Gotta update those references. Try bringing in Seth Rogan and Sydney Sweeney to unfuck his brain.
  15. Girl Drink Drunk
  16. Sark benched Card at Arkansas. He also benched Ewers against UGA, albeit briefly. Not a QB, but he also demoted Blue from RB1 in 2023. He’s stubborn but has shown that he is willing to pull his starters if they aren’t getting it done.
  17. Shockingly, only the dumbest loudmouths on this board are making that argument. Same guys who think Sark is a shitty coach. I would have them on ignore if they weren’t so often unintentionally hilarious
  18. Keep spamming the obvious. It makes you look really smart and cool. Not like an annoying dumb fuck.
  19. I get what you mean, but that was the Saturday after beating Bama. Completely different vibe.
  20. No fumbles. So thats good. Baby (rhino) steps.
  21. He is an actual liability. Not only does he fail to block anyone on several plays, he actually gets in the way of other OL. I get it, but it still annoys me. Chop blocks are still legal at the LOS if done correctly. The teams we play get worse every week and yet Arch looks worse and worse. It’s like he forgot how to throw a ball.
