  1. Imma need you to go knock on some wood. And that’s not a euphemism.
  2. I think you may be looking too hard for meaning in the fluff. I agree it was not very well written.
  3. Terry has been improving the most, but he started off behind the other guys, so hasn’t taken the lead. Basically that hes catching up to the other freshman WR.
  4. I lived in the SE for a long time and agree on all points, except I always thought Vandy fans kinda sucked. Real “ooh, sportsball” types. But they wouldn’t harass you or anything. Also, MSU fans fucking suck. Just angry about everything. Starkville has strong Lubbock vibes in terms of people walking around with a chip on their shoulder.
  5. I pity you fools who think in linear time. And I know that old people easily get confused. I’ll endeavor to be more clear when I rant.
  6. I'm referring to the KSU games in 2022 and 2023 as ones where we stalled out badly in the second half, not where we lost.
  7. I've listened to them for a while. They're not bad in many respects, but they have clear disdain for Texas and will generally avoid talking about the program if they can.
  8. To build on this, we've kicked ass in the first half and then stalled out in the second. It has been this way since 2021. Remember when we would build up solid leads and then watch them slip away? We got better at that in 2022, but still had the same issue and still lost games because of it. KSU in 2022 and 2023 are a good example. Then more of the same in 2024, albeit less dramatic because our defense was able to hold the line and - credit where it's due - the offense would usually do just enough in the fourth quarter to keep us up. I just do not understand what happens at half time. Is it a failure to adjust? Did Ewers injuries cool down and get sore, limiting him in the second half? Do we get comfortable and just play like shit with a lead? I can think of plenty of explanations but still none of them really make sense.
  9. Goddamn. Someone posts a picture of women of questionable looks and this whole website is all It would better if they were clearly attractive or ugly. Y’all might just let it slide. But because there is a by gawd debate to he had we are going to gnaw on this bone for the next three pages.
  10. I took my kids there a couple of summers ago. It wasn't that bad. The food wasn't great but the my kids could be as loud as they wanted and they served beer. In fact, I thought Disneyland was pleasant. The weather in California is good and the lines weren't as bad as I was expecting. I'm also friends with a couple who are Disney adults, and they both have kids / careers / don't engage in couple swaps. We give them shit about being Disney adults because it's silly, but whatever. I devote 50% of my mental space to a game played by teenagers so I can't really say that much to them.
  11. The federal OMB just calls it "Great Houston" or the "Greater Houston Metroplex," which doesn't seem all that awkward. Includes everything east of Katy all the way to Pasadena, and from The Woodlands to Galveston.
  12. It's also easier to be happy with a guy you took in the 7th for pennies on the dollar. If he's worth a damn then you've already surpassed expectations. The problem that part of me can't shake is that Ewers is probably going to get hurt this season. I understand why he didn't go in the 1st, but I think the reason he dropped as far as he did is because his injury report said "DO NOT DRAFT" across the top in big red letters. His fragility is the issue, and that won't rear its head until the non-contact jersey comes off. Ewers is a tough kid and will play through injuries, but when he plays hurt is when his game falls apart. The Dolphins are only going to be happy with him long term if he can stay healthy.
  13. This was already covered in my pigeon playing chess post, and I don't appreciate you encroaching on my "animal does human things" metaphor territory. Watch yo step.
  14. I feel like you're trying to steer us into a tangent about burgers and / or quoting The Big Lebowski.
  15. We've moved on to whether Round Rock is part of Austin. Keep up.
  16. Interesting. I have never had any strong feelings about Westwood. Other than being annoyed at Westwood grads who say they went to high school in Austin. No, you didn't, you're practically from Lampasas.
  17. Wow, go fuck yourself. I cannot believe how viciously you've attacked me. Why is everyone on this thread out to get me when I only make innocuous comments and observations that are clear to anyone with eyes and a brain?
  18. May I offer that you are perhaps being a bit hyperbolic and that his post, while it had it's flaws, was on the whole beneficial to the thread?
  19. Oh thank God. I regret the part I've played in this Glen Powel tangent. Agreed about Shaw. That dude has a very Alfred Collins-esque career where the talent and physical attributes were obviously there, but he never really did anything with them. If Baker is unlocking that potential then we are in great shape at DT in light of how the other transfers + January are doing. Fucking Arkansas. Can their medical staff have really missed that dude needed surgery? That seems shockingly incompetent, even for the pigs. One thing Bobby mentioned last night that I didn't see in his practice report - Arch is staying late with a group to run the offense even after the coaches leave. That has real "If you want to beat Ohio State, meet me here every night at 7 p.m." energy. I know we've heard a lot about Arch during camp, but it doesn't seem like he's been the focus. Even when IT/OTF are talking about the QBs, they're mostly talking about the battle for QB2. I assume no news is good news, and I love hearing about Arch's leadership. Ewers was great, but he never struck me as a "lead from the front" kind of QB. I think Texas is better when the guy under center shows people the way.
  20. Everybody Wants Some is probably his best movie. It’s a lighthearted Linklater movie and nostalgic about being Texas college life in the 80’s. So pretty much perfect for all the olds on this board.
  21. Boomer meme but relevant to this thread.
  22. 11 stayed / currently are at Texas. 17 transfers out. I like everyone we kept. I even like some of the guys who left (Agbo, Finkley, Maalik), but I understand why they're not here anymore. But 17 still feels like a lot.
