I think that's right. He's already played in four games this season, one more and his shirt is burned. Although I know the rules for redshirts are currently being challenged. So it could change.
  2. Yeah, I wish Sark would put that play back on the shelf. It looks cool and has worked well the last few seasons, but defenses are clearly starting to read it and at some point this season it is going to bite us on the ass. With a throw like that, there won't be anyone between the defender and our endzone if he picks off the screen.
  3. I think we have a relatively small data set to work with. To me, it just seems like Wingo and Arch weren't on the same page for the first few games. When Wingo was in a good position to catch the ball, Arch threw it at his feet. When Arch threw a catchable ball, Wingo was out of position. "Why aren't they on the same page?" is a fair question, but at this point I'm still willing to chock it up to happenstance. If it becomes something we see repeated as the season goes along, then maybe there's more to it.
  4. I'm trying to figure what this means. What does Livingstone have to do with the 2008 football season? Wasn't he like two at the time?
  5. I voiced something similar to this yesterday and everyone called me an idiot. I was firm in my beliefs however and sure that everyone else was wrong. Now that I see IT may be agreeing with me, I have serious doubts about my position.
  6. Poor 1939. You lay down with dogs, buddy, and you're gonna catch fleas.
  7. I can answer part of this. Until 1912, a touchdown was only worth 5 points. Two safeties to get to 4 points is weird, but was more common back when teams only ran the ball and formations were tighter to the line of scrimmage.
  8. I don't think so. Just the generic stuff - don't give OU any excuses, competitors want to compete, rivalry stuff etc. That's my guess anyway. It's IT so they could just be injecting something provocative.
  9. At least y'all fired your shitty coach. OU is stuck with methlab skeletor for who knows how long.
  10. Yeah, but Looch wrote "something like seven" and in an Aggie version of math four is basically the same thing as seven.
  11. That's probably the healthier response. I'm fine, I just don't like this kind of shit. The backroom fuckery of 2008 still looms large in my memory.
  12. "The narrative" matters if we are a bubble team for the CFP. Which can happen if Arch has another crappy game against a good opponent. A 9-3 Texas that has quality wins may still have a shot to get in, but it's a lot harder if our best win is against an OU team that didn't have its QB.
  13. Did you watch the game last year? The one where the QB couldn't pass and fumbled multiple times? He's that guy.
  14. It's Michael Hawkins Jr. I know our capacity to bitch and worry is unrivaled, but that guy should not worry anyone after last season.
  15. I hate that this is probably right. If he doesn't play, then the narrative is that they would have won with Mateer at QB. If he plays, they will spend the whole game talking about what a tough competitor he is for playing through an injury. If we win, it will be because Mateer wasn't 100%. If we lose, it will be that much worse. Fuck OU and all that. But this is why I would rather play a healthy team. It's not because I give a shit about Mateer or that portable methlab of a program. It's because it gives them and everyone else excuses to undervalue our win.

  17. To me, the weird thing about the t-shirt was that he wore it fishing. Does anyone actually wear a shirt that they like to go fishing? I almost exclusively wear trash shirts that I am happy to throw away - it's going to get blood, sunscreen, beer and whatever else all over it anyway. Someone gives me a free shirt for their tv station or business, that's a prime candidate. I'm sure Gundy is a conservative guy and surrounds himself with OAN types, but I never saw him wearing that shirt as some kind of endorsement.
  18. You pay closer attention to this stuff than I do, but I thought UTEP's game plan was completely different from OSU. It seemed like OSU played an honest box and kept the game plan pretty basic. In contrast, UTEP threw the kitchen sink at us with a lot of exotics and stunts. Either way, in both games we had guys running open - Arch just couldn't hit the throws. Part of what keeps me off the ledge about our OL play is the fact that they pass pro decently and, combined with his legs, Arch has enough time to do damage through the air.
  19. He was great at Minnesota State but I don't trust him to hire a competent staff.
  20. holy shit when she tried to pronounce "academic"
  21. Yeah, that's fair. It's probably too early to judge how good the DT room is this season. I'm just glad that it looks like we hit (to greater and lesser degrees) and all 4 transfers. I'm probably too hard on Broughton but man was he a frustrating player. I think we're better at DT this season, but we can agree to disagree - you're right that it is probably too early to tell.
  22. That would make sense. When I googled it I just got something about Roblox, which as far as I can tell is a game about off-brand lego people.
