  1. Don't be a fucking idiot. Disregard anything that BO&W posts that isn't cut-and-paste from a 9.95 article.
  2. Agreed, but I also think Arch's failure to be consistent in the quick game is a product of the bad OL and playcalling. Dude is getting rocked on every other play. You can't get into a rhythm when you're expecting to take a hit. So even on plays where the protection is sound, he's still in panic mode because of all the shots he's taken. The OU game plan in the second half needs to be the whole offense. Keep it fast. Let the pocket roll. Let Arch use his legs to buy time.
  3. Is Brooks actually better than Connor Stroh at this point? At least Stroh was borderline acceptable in pass pro. I also am struggling to believe that Neto isn't better than what we've seen from either Brooks or Stroh. I don't give a fuck if Neto murdered an ate a baby in the locker room. Whatever has him in the dog house, it can't be bad enough to keep him on the sideline. He can't be this bad.
  4. I'll say it again and again. Arch is a problem, but the playcalling and OL are much bigger problems. A great QB would see this play was not going to work and tried something else. There's a lot of blockers standing around, maybe he can pick up 3 yards with his legs. But he's not a great QB and either way he's been coached to throw the ball instead of run. Arch is not who we thought he was, but Sark refuses to acknowledge or accept this and move on. Sark certainly can't see how badly the OL is fucked. This is a total team failure on the offense's side of the ball. Because the offense runs through Arch it's natural to point fingers at him, but I just don't know what he's supposed to do at this point. He's getting zero help.
  5. When I saw that play I knew we were getting Coach Stephen. Horrendous playcalling all night. Thank you. Co-signed. Taaffe is 22, a meathead, and has been a leader on every team hes been on since Pop Warner. “Be positive” has been ingrained in his mentality forever and it’s not a surprise that he views negative reactions to a win as bizarre. Losing and failing to meet expectations always causes issues. But we are terrible about blowing that shit out of proportion. You can who on this board never played sports at a high level. Arch looks depressed because he’s exhausted and beat to fuck. Can you imagine having to haul your ass in front of the media after getting your head kicked in for four quarters? Dude just wants an ibuprofen and to crawl into bed.
  6. The defense and PK are the whole team right now. And people are gonna tag on Arch - who did not have a good game - but the OL and playcalling were fucking atrocious. Just an absolute disaster from Flood and Sark. Not sure what Manning’s can do with that.
  7. I tried not to be too credulous about our insiders, but sheer volume of sunshine being pumped got to me. Never again.
  8. Dude got here in February. He did not recruit any of these RB and has barely had time to develop them. Chill out. Kentucky lacks talent, but they are big and experienced in the trenches. They also have some big, downhill RBs. They're like a G5 all-star team. I appreciate you posting these notes / updates, but I no longer think IT has any idea what's happening inside the program. The contrast between what was said during the offseason and what we've seen on the field is damning. OTF has taken a serious credibility hit with me as well. I know that the 9.95 credo is "tell the fans what they want to hear" but I am still pissed at how many platitudes we were fed without any hint of criticism or concern.
  9. Quote me next time so I know to chirp back, Sally. The reading comprehension of Tech grads is truly undefeated. Good work.
  10. He's not entirely wrong. Strong is one of the worst coaches to ever coach at a helmet school. But Willie Taggart was worse at FSU and Rich Rod was at least as bad at Michigan. Shit, look at Mike Shula at Bama - not only did he suck, but he was a cheater to boot. Depending on your definition of "helmet school," Chad Morris was worse at Arkansas and Jimmy Lake at Washington has to be up there. Tyrone Willingham at Washington also, and arguably even at ND. A lot of good schools have had some really bad coaches. Usually most are somewhat up-and-down (like Mackovic) and we just perceive Strong to be the worst because he was the worst at Texas. But there are definitely worse coaches out there.
  11. Sometimes I get nostalgic about the Big 12, but then I read some self-pitying (yet somehow entitled) bullshit like what you've written here and I remember how happy I am we left. This born loser mentality is why Tech is perfect for the Big 12. Hope y'all enjoy being in an orphanage for teams the SEC and B1G don't want. All it took for Tech to "ascend" was a billion dollars and your betters jumping ship. Congrats.
  12. I'm starting to think that Johntay's inner circle may not be great decisionmakers.
  13. Naw, fuck 'em. I lived in the Southeast for a while. Small town with a specific industry so there were a lot of people from all over. I got to know a lot of SEC fanbases, and the Auburn fans were the worst by a wide margin. They play into every "rich, entitled, southern" stereotype. There are plenty of bad fanbases in the SEC, but the unearned pride and superiority of Auburn fans made them particularly grating. Also, super duper racist. I thought I knew racism, but it was at best casual racism. Those Auburn folks were into some ranked, competitive racism.
  14. Hang it in the fucking Louvre.
  15. One facet of it is recruiting. Flood is recruiting big guys and hoping the get more athletic, rather than recruiting athletic guys and hoping they get bigger. He's asking the large humans to do athletic things and they are just not able to move the way he wants them to. What's disconcerting is that even when we don't ask them to do anything particularly athletic, like just push the guy in front of you two yards back, these "large humans" seem to lack the strength and power to move people. That seems like a Torre Becton problem. Basically:
  16. Well thats not encouraging
  17. I find that a longwinded rant goes over better when I pretend I'm soliciting other people's opinions.
  18. It's a fun place to go drink and dance. Kinda cramped but charming. It would not be a good gathering spot, though. Fun bar but not well suited for a gathering spot. If you aren't dancing them people mostly sit outside in the parking lot because of how small it is. It's also on Burnet so parking can be a bitch.
  19. While you're in Lexington, make sure to get a hot brown from Ramsey’s or Winchell's. And by "hot brown" I mean the open face sandwich. Has nothing to do with whatever else you guys like to get into on a Saturday night.
  20. That's a lot of words to just say "They are terrible, we should win convincingly" The point isn't that we'll lose or that we'll even play poorly. I'm not worried about losing. I'm worried that we'll sleepwalk into this game and, even though we win, it won't be a good sign.
  21. That Bijan stat line fucking pops.
