  1. I liked this joke better the 5 or 6 times it was made yesterday.
  2. I have no insider knowledge, but I'll take a stab (assuming that the money was equal): Eugene is nice. The weather is better than in Austin, although it still gets hot. Visiting in the summer and then coming back to hot AF Dallas may have given him pause. Far from family and high school friends. Some people like to go do their own thing. Plus maybe he wants to have fun in college - like fun fun - and doesn't think he can do that in Austin where he's so close to family / friends. Fewer people to report back to mom if you show your ass on Saturday night. Rashaad Samples / Lanning's staff are good recruiters. I'm sure they had a good pitch. I don't know a ton about Junior Adams, but having the WR be an OC suggests that WR will feature in the offense. Their WR room has plenty of talent, but isn't nearly as stacked as we are at the position. It's pretty much Evan Stewart and Tez Johnson. The others are contributors and one or two might even play on Sunday, but there are fewer people between Moore and the field at Oregon. I doubt the QB room had anything to do with this. I would think that factor favors Texas. But maybe he hit it off with Dante Moore in a way he didn't with Manning? I don't know. If he's not happy at Oregon he can always leave. Texas will welcome him with open arms and no one in his family will question the decision. He would probably catch a lot more shit at home if he tried to do the reverse. Him calling Evan Stewart a role model or whatever tells me that his judgment may be somewhat suspect, or at least that he's not using the normal metrics in making his decision. Stewart went to A&M for money and to be the feature WR. I don't think he cared that much about the larger university experience or the team's success. I don't fault Stewart for being merc, but I do fault him for being a duplicitous, lazy little shit. Maybe he got in Moore's ear and told him that all coaches are liars and that Moore needs to look out for No. 1 rather than listen to any coach's pitch. That would make sense if the bulk of your experience with coaches is Jimbo. Lanning probably seems like a Saint in contrast. Speaking of Evan Stewart, weed like legal in Oregon. It is not in Texas. One fewer thing to worry about on Saturday night. I'm sure that money had a lot to do with it, but based on what people have said on this board I'm assuming that we were happy to equal whatever Oregon was offering. So the things I've listed above seem to be the difference makers. Edit: And they do have snazzy uniforms. Not my style personally, but I'm a 40-year-old white dude.
  3. This is a lot of know-nothing bullshit. You’ve got tunnel vision. Pull your head out of wherever it is and look at the big picture not just one recruitment.
  4. I think people can be concerned about the direction of recruiting on the defense, especially the interior DL. That doesn't mean they're pissing their pants. The direction is clearly not as good as we expected and pretending otherwise is just as stupid as pretending the sky is falling. It's barely July and there's still plenty of time. We've landed some good prospects. But the last couple of weeks have had more downs than ups. I get that some people are perpetually negative and they're annoying to have around. But don't go lumping reasonable people in with them. I've seen some posts in the last few weeks that border on late-stage Mack "trust the corchers" bullshit.
  5. I wouldn't even say it was dumb. Dude gets a chance to be HC at a P5 school in the best baseball conference. Even if he's merely competent, that's a pretty big boost to his career. I don't know how a young assistant coach says no to the opportunity, even if it comes without a safety net.
  6. It's impressive that they managed to be offended by that video. Not surprising, given their ability to be offended by anything, but still impressive.
  7. I just do not understand how a person looks in the mirror and thinks “yes, this is the look for me.”
  8. Thank you. I appreciate the relentless positivity that @Wulaw Horn brings, but the idea that DL isn't one of the most important positions in CFB is insane. I get that circumstances differ and reasonable people can disagree, but it's arguably the most important position after QB. IDL and 3/5-tech DE make or break teams. If want to argue that OT or CB are more important I'll chalk that up to opinions, but you have to at least acknowledge that DL is in the conversation. Those Clemson teams from 2015 - 2020 had plenty of jags, but were successful because of elite QB play and monster DL. Downplaying the importance of DL is silly.
  9. You can say fuck on here. Fuck fuck fuck. This isn't church or the OTF board (or wherever you came from).
  10. lol, you even managed to get Imma in there.
  11. Where the fuck do you two think you are? One of the cornerstones of this place is bitching about petty things on the internet. If I wanted mandatory positivity I'd go back to the LHN subreddit.
  12. Everyone knows that real Aggies let their mothers do their fighting for them. It's also HILARIOUS to me that these fucking goobers adopted the Jocko Willink “good” mantra. You know, the one where the HardAss Navy Seal™ says "good" every time something bad happens because it gives him a chance to confront a challenge? We stole their coach so obviously all these hardass totally not fake army Aggies just said "good" and moved on, right? No. Of course they didn't. They have whined and cried and pissed their pants. They've made up lies and threatened lawsuits to salve their rusty vaginas. They beg for pity from a completely hollow, fictitious, self-made moral high ground. They are less than pathetic. And I hope they never stop wallowing in it.
