  1. True and correct, but I will note that the grandson talked up Overshown to Jerrah and helped get DMO drafted at a good spot. Plus DMO is a lifelong Cowboys fan, so Paxton Anderson helped him achieve that dream. The sins of the father should not yada yada yada.
  2. Sorry for the double post, but I have a few thoughts and questions. The staff just doesn't seem that high on Kreul. I understand we're okay with his limitations (if the price is right), but these tweeners never seem to pan out. It seems like the better move would be to let someone else develop him and tamper with him later if he looks good. If we can't pull him in the portal, oh well. That being said, denying Oklahoma a player it wants is as good a reason is any to take a croot so I'm good either way. It's weird to me that "coon" is a slur for black people while "coonass" is a slur for white people. Are we actually doing this rivalry with Georgia? Because the shit I've seen over the last two weeks is how we end up with a rivalry with Georgia. I don't give a shit about them but if we're all going full regard on the dawgs then so be it. I just want us to go into this with both eyes open because their fans seem to be on Tech's level of annoying and shitty. I would rather not add "Tech, but better at football" to the list of our rivals. Arkansas is more than enough trailer trash for me. 28-30 guys? Really? That seems absurd. Is it because of the new roster rules? We're already so loaded and have retained so well, I just assumed this would be a smaller class.
  3. This looks like one of those fake "Surly Magazine" headlines that @TreatyOak is always churning out.
  4. So y'all like to flirt in the open, huh
  5. Small world, my firm did the same thing. My stint was back in 2013. It was a shock how little the actual law mattered in those trials.
  6. The best in Texas leave Texas (to avoid conviction)
  7. I don’t want to oversell this, but we are winning the next three national championships in a row. They’re going to have to pass laws to stop us.
  8. I just got back from Ketchikan. We flew Air Canada, though. Southern Alaska is shockingly pleasant this time of year. Food was also surprisingly good, albeit fuck all expensive.
  9. we have joined a conference of fucking crybabies
  10. I've been doing these for years and didn't really have a name for them. This is excellent. Dude, thank you for this. The other day I mentioned to my wife that I wanted to find a place that did beef stromboli because I was nostalgic about this place we went to on South Lamar in high school for discount buffet, but I couldn't remember the name of it. It was one of those stories that starts off somewhere then quickly trails off and makes her question my mental health (and therefore warranting the senility checks). Trying to remember the name of the place has been bothering me ever since. It was Double Dave's. This is like finally getting a popcorn kernel dislodged from my teeth.
  11. It’s a relief when certain posters, especially BOW but others as well, disagree with me on here. It’s a better confirmation of how right I am than just about anything else. what’s funny is that with a lot of posters - futureman, helobious- Im fairly confident that it’s a bit or that they’re trolling. BOW definitely likes to troll, but he’s bad enough at it that you can tell when he’s being serious. I honestly doubt that hes that big of an asshole IRL, but on here hes something special. I would be honestly shocked if 90% of the people on this board dont remember Spike Dykes. First, because you’re all old as shit, and second, because his son is coaching at TCU.
  12. He would likely take a pay cut. His currently salary at Texas $1.9 million, and most NFL DCs make around $1 million. Obviously guys like Vic Fangio make a lot more than that, but they've also been in the league forever. If he was killing himself on the recruiting trail then maybe. But I don't think that's the case either. Anything can happen, but I think we'll have PK for a few more seasons at least.
  13. Honestly, that's what I thought we were doing when we moved to this fucking conference. Turns out these guys bitch even more than the whiniest elements of the Big 12. I swear, dealing with ISU and OkSU fans was better.
  14. You know what's nice? I don't give a shit about Georgia. If CFB was a neighborhood, OU would be the asshole from across the street that we fucking hate and have to deal with all the time. Aggies would be our embarrassing redneck cousin who our mom makes us spend time with and who constantly talks about how great his life in La Porte and our life in the big city with all the hobos and the gays must suck. Baylor, Tech, and TCU are gross people from around the block whose loud music and antics frequently interfere with our quiet enjoyment of the backyard. Arkansas is some dude we knew in high school and who we actively avoid when we see him at the grocery store. Georgia? They're some fucking weird on the bus. Somebody who is clearly not right but nonetheless tries to strike up a conversation. I don't give a shit about talking to them or wasting my energy on them because I've got my own life to live. Maybe someday they'll graduate to a program I care enough about to hate. But they're not our friends, family, or neighbors and I don't give a single shit about them other than the week we happen to play. My prediction? They will, at best, be our next Nebraska. Fuck 'em. Fuck Smart too, with his stupid fucking haircut and poindexter hat. Toss them on the pile with the rest of the CFB world that hate us because they ain't us.
  15. Is this why you eat salsa with your bare hands like a toddler (or whatever CTJ is accusing you of I haven't followed it that closely)? I was one of those people who thought Harris was incompetent. Or, at best, a biddable yes-man who tweeted eye emojis that did not actually seem to be related to recruiting. And I don't think my sentiment was entirely unfounded. Now - yeah, you appear to be correct. I'm glad that Sark was able to see something in him and that the guy has gotten his shit together. I've said this a bunch of times, and I'll say it again at my peril, but I am fully in "trust the corches" mode when it comes to the Sark regime. If Sark was willing to let Glasscock go and put Harris in that role, dumb as it seemed to me at the time, that seems to have been the right call.
