  1. That's fair but that's not the point I'm making. @MrBig asked why, if Ewers' stats are so good, is he not going in the draft. My response was illustrating that there are a thousand other factors beyond statistics and we don't know what they are. But the fact that he's not going in the draft, despite good statistics, is not an indictment of his level of play. I personally have no idea what Ewers is or isn't hearing. Yes, this. Exactly.
  2. Maybe because Maye just wants to get in the NFL, and going late in the first or early in second is fine for him. Or maybe he thinks the next class is too stacked and he's already outplayed Caleb Williams. Or maybe he's just fucking stupid. We don't know. But if you don't think Ewers could get drafted this season, you've lost the plot. But there's a huge difference between getting drafted late in the second vs. early in the first and that may be on his mind. He also may genuinely feel like he has unfinished business in college. It's a massive decision that will affect the rest of his life either way. His stats are good. It's great that he's coming back. Him not going to the NFL this draft is based on factors we're not privy to.
  3. Wasn't sure where to post this, but it is an interesting study about the offense this season. They author is just some guy, so his analysis can be taken with a grain of salt, but the data is helpful. I've noticed there's a lot of football wonks on here and thought they might like it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L3XnHuMQnGsmYF4kUBfip010BQpmcBC_/view
  4. I wouldn't say it's BS, but it is certainly subjective. Sacks and hits are easy to measure, but "hurries" seems to vary wildly depending on who is doing the measuring. Is it any time the QB has to leave the pocket? Is it only when there's a near miss? PFF does seem to be an outlier in terms of overcounting pressure. For example:
  5. Seems like a weird move. Wasn't incredibly productive, but was solid depth. Seems like he'd have a good shot at more PT with most of the room being so young. I can't see anyone offering him a bag.
  6. It's been 11 hours dude, why are you stirring that shit up again.
  7. Y'all in here really bitching about Quinn coming back? Really? I've seen a lot of dumb shit on this board but this is way, waaaaay up there. Ewers was good this year. Not perfect, but he improved dramatically from 2022. He's going to continue to improve and be great next year. He has legitimate Heisman potential. Manning isn't going anywhere. He will be QB2 and continue to learn and improve. Even if there were going to be an off season QB competition - and there won't be - he would not take Quinn's spot. The staff does not have a schedule for these guys that does not take into account variability. Guys get hurt, guys transfer, guys have developmental delays. The staff has shown they know how to handle it so maybe don't worry so fucking much. Goddamn guys.
  8. Well give him a good slap on the ass anyway
  9. I counted at least 4. People have been questioning the playcalling in the final series. I didn't love it, but I can understand Sark's frustration. You can't run - no timeouts and only a few second left. You can't pass over the middle - the space is too tight and they've batted down every ball Ewers threw over the middle. Worthy was clearly not even 75%, especially moving laterally, so you can't rely on him as an option. Chucking it up to Mitchell in the corner felt more like a prayer than playcalling, but I can also understand it. His options were pretty limited. That said, we can expect more from Sark. He gets paid to be better than that. But I also have been impressed with his ability to learn and adapt. I have every expectation that this season was a learning experience for him and he'll immediately start working to figure out what to do in this sort of situation in the future.
  10. It’s from an old YouTube video by Brad Neely. He saves the children but not the British children.
  11. January seems wildly underrated to me. His tape is excellent and he has great size.
  12. Would it be fair to say that some people will never like him... and he will never give a fuck?
  13. The real move is to convince the Aggies that he's leaving and Texas is the destination. TexAgs goes into full on meltdown. Some Aggie BMDs step up and overpay him to stay because they can't stand the idea of losing him to mean ol' tessus. He stays at A&M and nothing has changed except that we got to see an entertaining TexAg freakout and the Aggies are a little poorer.
