  1. Texas is leaving the Big 12 because the conference is full of passionate but unimportant teams, and the gap between Texas and the programs in its peer group is only going to widen as time goes on if Texas doesn't move. I don't even dislike the Big 12 that much, but program like ISU, KSU, OSU, Baylor, and Tech do not have the resources or the fanbases to draw sufficient national attention. When you're good, people will say "neat" and immediately forget about it. They don't care that your coaches have great records or that you're "doing more with less" as developers of talent. No one gives a shit and they never will. Texas has nothing to win by beating teams like ISU and everything to lose. The writing has been on the wall since Nebraska and A&M left, so bitch at them if you really need to bitch at someone. I would respect your fans more if you didn't, however. I'd rather you just said "thank you" for the years of unearned money and attention that you drew based on proximity to Texas and programs like it. Because Texas didn't kill the Big 12 - shitty programs with shitty fanbases on no resources did. Here's tip: if an employee leaves a company and the company falls apart, you don't blame the employee for killing the company. The employee was the one holding everything together. If you can't stand on your own then you have no one to blame but yourself, and certainly not the person who's been propping you up for almost 30 years. None of this matters though. ISU (or OSU/KSU/Tech whoever) should learn to enjoy being king of a small mountain. You can still watch your team win and lose. You can still have your fun. The Big 12 isn't dying. It's just becoming what it has always been without teams like Texas - a second rate conference with a small audience.
  2. Toradol wore off and they couldn't give him another dose. But seriously, that has been discussed - the short answer is that only people inside the program know for sure, but it seems likely that his injury was aggravated by playing and it limited him in the second half. Even if that's part of the reason we went so run heavy, I think a bigger part is Sark getting pissed off and calling plays to make a point to the guys. He did the same thing with deep shots in the TCU game last year. Feels punitive. Instead of throwing a tantrum I wish he would just call to win the game and address the player's perceived lack of motivation in practice / film.
  3. I hope everyone who complained about Worthy being a diva appreciates that dive on the ball. He's not thinking about the NFL, protecting his body, protecting his future, he's thinking about winning the damn game. That's not a business decision. I know he has his hand out every off season but dude earns it on the field.
  4. I don't give a shit about your flamewar, please take it to your messages.
  5. We have an 80% chance of making the CCG if we beat ISU but lose to Tech. Approximately. this is a good tool - https://bball.notnothing.net/big12.php?sport=fb
  6. Yep, shaking the play sheet. Dude looked pissed.
  7. They're going to move the league office to SLC and force Gundy to return to his gelled spikes look.
  8. Son, your team is also 5-4 and got BTFO by Miami. How are you gonna talk shit about Georgia Tech?
  9. @blacklab Will I get banned if I start another flame war about food pedantry?
  10. It's pretty fucking close. In fact I'm not even sure what the difference would be between wiener schnitzel and chicken fried steak. Other than, ya know, "beating the meat" a bit. And who among us is above beating their meat?
  11. What an oddly pretty deer. Looks like it is wearing mascara and mousse.
  12. How dare you. Murphy is only averaging one pick every 20 passes, so it should be only 1.
  13. Texas is ranked 6th nationally in DFEI. For reference, we're ranked 19th in OFEI. We're ranked 30th in passing defense (based on efficiency) and 10th in rushing defense. We accomplished that, despite having the 10th most difficult strength of schedule (and 5th ranked strength of record). Anyone who wants to see PK gone is fucking regarded. There are valid criticisms of Gideon and Joseph, especially regarding personnel decisions at safety and pre-snap alignment for our corners, but those can only be attributed to PK in a "the buck stops here" sense. Otherwise, the man has been fucking lights out.
  14. I was arguing with a Poke on reddit that Big 12 refs just love Gundy and consistently call games favorably to OSU. He said that was just the Texas fan in me talking, but I remembered a terrible call from 2021 where an ISU TD was taken off the board for "taunting". I found the video and imagine my shock when I saw the ref on the call: Sidenote - Matt Campbell is still a whiny little bitch.
  15. I think what you're describing is the 3-3-5 three high safety look that a lot of the conference already runs. Most notably ISU and TCU. So they may be familiar with the concept.
