  1. First of all, I resent your implication that Wagon Wheel is a chick song. Second, we should 100% us that one. It's old enough now that it's a classic, it's perfect for sing alongs, and it will really piss off all the hill people in the SEC who think they own it. I can't think of another team who uses it right now. Third, my personal vote was for Tyler by The Toadies, but I can't imagine the school would actually use it...because of the implications
  2. Mister, if you don't shut up I'm going to kick 100% of your ass
  3. Your reading comprehension is atrocious.
  4. Ok but George Strait is universally acknowledged as amazing. You don’t have to be faking your country bona fides to love Amarillo By Morning.
  5. This isn't the Rhodesian History board.
  6. I'm pretty sure you aren't, given that only 6th Street seems to be dooming harder than you in this thread. It's admirable that you're reaching for the brass ring of annoying sad sacks though.
  7. Surly’s 2nd favorite pastime, right after punching itself in the dick, is rehashing horribly painful losses from past seasons. So I imagine we will get to reconsider the TCU game 100 different times from 100 different angles in the coming years. it would be best to never mention that game again. But you know we can’t help ourselves.
  8. Y'all need to unbunch your panties about Yormark. None of this should come as a surprise. He is a carpetbagger and carnival barker, and he is telling these rubes what they want to hear. We're going to stomp a violent, bloody mudhole in every team on our way out the conference and there's nothing they can do to stop it. So let him run his mouth.
  9. The most rat faced motherfucker I've ever seen. It's goddamned unsettling.
  10. Reddit's CFB sub does a preseason poll and has Texas at 14. https://old.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/15ya0rn/2023_preseason_rcfb_poll_1_georgia_2_michigan_3/ And before anyone points out that reddit's preseason poll is stupid...well, you're right. But I don't think it's that much dumber than the other preseason polls. They're all just fodder for conversation before the season starts and we actually have something to talk about.
  11. I don't expect fans of other teams to know our schedule, but why "guess" at where a game is played? You're literally on the internet at the same time you're posting on tigerdroppings, why not just fucking google it? Same thing with the comment about Houston being a trap game b/c it's right after RRSO. We have a bye week before UH. Again - how hard is it to google "Texas 2023 schedule" before spouting off?
  12. Waddlington's reactions to Boyd are like crack to me. Boyd will say some of the most ridiculous shit you've ever heard and you can tell Paul wants to ask what the fuck is wrong with his brain, but knows that he can't actually say that shit out loud, so he struggles to come up with a polite response that doesn't match Boyd's idiocy. For the most part I just appreciate Paul's thoughts on the team and his knowledge of Longhorn history. I ignore most of what Boyd says and enjoy the absurd moments when they come.
  13. How dare you speak this way about Randy.
  14. I find your lack of cheese puns disturbing.
  15. I'm not sure if you mean during the preseason or just in general, but the team definitely released depth charts before games.
  16. You're exactly right about the UW game. I just rewatched that play and Broughton is double teamed right into Gbenda's lap. Ford was supposed to cover the inside lane and took himself out of position. Not on Gbenda. For reference (at 2:48): That doesn't mean he'll be world beater. More than anything it confirms my belief that Broughton is a liability whose ass should be firmly glued to the pine.
  17. EGAT just did a breakdown of the LB position. Waddlington and Boyd are bullish on Gbenda while acknowledging his shortcomings. Scipio saw improvement from '21 to '22 and made the case that the trend should continue, especially in coverage. He noted that Gbenda may still be playing "wait and see" against the run (rather than being proactive), but that is still better than his strategy of "run around randomly" from 2021. Remember, Ford wasn't shit until he was.
  18. I don't have a dog in this fight, but listing 5 quality starters for a group consisting of only 7 positions isn't that egregious. Especially when Finkley and Gbenda showed themselves to be generally competent last year. If we were talking about all 11 positions on defense, you could also point to guys like Watts, Thompson, and Barron as starters, with Guilbeau and Brooks as promising contributors. Plus the two DB transfers who appear to be solid. Again - I'm not adopting the original argument that defense will be better than offense because there's more proven returning production. That is a dumb argument. I'm just pointing out that the defense as a whole is also returning a lot of production. There's reason to be optimistic about both sides of the ball, if we're looking at what's returning from 2022.
