  1. Not to contribute to the continued derailing of this thread, but if you're searching with filters off you may want to look for her in The Dreamers. I don't recommend actually watching the movie, but parts of it are pretty, pretty good.
  2. I appreciate that Scipio told Boyd to shut the fuck up and let him finish at the beginning of the podcast though. Reigned in some of the signature Ian Boyd word vomit.
  3. So many people seem to be glossing over this. I'm sure people know that we're running vanilla, but they still seem to leave it out of their evaluations. We aren't showing anything new schematically and we aren't fully utilizing our best players. Plenty of guys who have their spots locked were making business decisions (side note - I was impressed with Worthy's effort, he got pretty chippy and I loved it). The defense also has the significant advantage of knowing these players and the playbook that other defenses won't have. I generally agree, but the fact that reasonable people weren't expecting Arch to be great does not preclude this board freaking out about nothing. Surly could be getting a blowjob from Eva Green and still complain that her execution and effort weren't meeting expectations.
  4. C'mon now, you knew exactly what this was going to be. People's expectations for Ewers were sky-high so when he came out looking like an only moderately improved version of himself from '22 they were disappointed. People had no expectations for Maalik (some people on this board are still referring to him as a dual threat) so when he looked good against the scrub DBs they got excited. And to be clear - he is exciting. I'm pumped that he looked as good as he did, but that's how he's supposed to look. All the o-line dooming is 100% expected because it's a zero-sum game against a clearly better d-line and Majors is still our center. I get that he's undersized for the position but if there were anyone better they'd be playing right now. You don't have to be a "trust the corches" type to see that Flood understands how to put a line together and isn't just playing Majors because he's senior. Yeah, the usual morons are saying the usual stupid shit, but at least mailbox hasn't weighed in yet. The only thing that actually surprises me is the lack of Manning dooming. He looked like a freshman instead of the second coming of Trevor Lawrence, which I thought would make more heads explode.
  5. Any word on how the Trill visit went (big DL from Minnesota)? a semi-reliable poster on another forum said it went well but that we probably aren’t in the mix.
  6. Paraphrasing, but Sark has basically said that Sanborn has been punting for 4 years at Stanford and he'll be doing the same thing at Texas. They already know what he can do don't need to see more. Regarding Auburn and Stone, if it ain't broke...
  7. I don't think Ricky's one-hitter was saying that a justification had never been provided, but that the justification was bullshit. And, to be frank, "unfair recruiting advantage" justification is bullshit. How much does an official visit cost? How many official visits would kids have to take before it becomes unaffordable to a smaller school? Recruiting budgets are massive, even at the G5 level. At the point where the difference in available money starts to matter, I don't the "poor" schools are competing for the same athletes as the "rich" schools anyway.
  8. I lived in Louisville for about a year back in '05 and went over to Lexington as often as I could. Mostly for horses and basketball, but I went to a few football games as well. It seemed like UK had decent attendance but people were mostly there to tailgate and socialize. The difference in the stadium before and after halftime was significant. Maybe that's to be expected, but I will give UK fans credit for still showing up late in season despite how bad things got. I went to the Tennessee game, which was going to be a massacre, and the place was still pretty full at kickoff.
  9. So Texas pulled in Cook, Niblett, and Moore despite Marion, not because of him?
  10. What's the over-under on some unhinged Aggie murdering Jimbo in the next couple of years?
  11. Plus the recent hamstring injury. Just shows how hard it is to play two sports at a high level.
  12. Hate seeing Thompson go, doesn't seem like he got enough time to develop. Can't coach speed. But if you're getting passed up by new guys and don't have the bandwidth to commit to just one sport, I can see him needing to make a move.
