I don't have the same kind of vitriol for movie (or TV) adaptations that don't adhere directly to the book, because the medium is totally different Same for video games. I like 1-to-1 adaptations if done really well (Fallout, LOTR, GOT before they ran out of material), I don't mind changes if they have to be done to make it more adaptable (Foundation is a good one, but also The Expanse, as they combined a bunch of characters into one). Some other really good adaptations are The Hunger Games movies (except the most recent one, it sucked), The Martian. Can't wait to see Project Hail Mary. But I hate when they just completely ruin the source material (World War Z, The Dark Tower movie) or just do a crappy job (the later HP movies skipped a lot of the meat or added in fluff that didn't exist, the unfinished Percy Jackson movies sucked, they never bothered to finish the Narnia movies) Some of them are getting new versions, so that's nice - the Percy Jackson tv series that is now in season 2 and the upcoming Harry Potter HBO series. Dark Tower needs to be less Mike Flanagan talking about it and more Mike Flanagan doing it. The BBC/HBO version of The Golden Compass was pretty good. The Zelda movie, God of War TV show, Horizon TV show - we will see.- 2025 Texas Volleyball - Locked and Reloaded
LMAO you got sucked into the portal speculation thread that turned pretty gay last night (yeah, I read all of it)- Will UT Bend the Knee?

Oh I’ve noticed that too. The girly girls like volleyball and the less girly girl ones like basketball. Softball is a weird mix. But a lot of girls shy away from The physicality of basketball and it’s really demanding and leads to more injuries. Like most contact sports- Texas WBB 2025-26: Return to the Final Four

Not Texas, but is SEC (OU) https://www.koco.com/article/samantha-fulnecky-oklahoma-ou-student-essay-bible-grade-professor-religious-discrimination/69634277- Citrus Bowl, Dec 31st - Texas vs Michigan.
Your contention is that Cignetti's resume wouldn't stack up against Tom Herman's AAC record at Houston, by *checks notes* including his P4 tenure at IU, after the fact? His non-IU winning percentage was 100-26 (.793), which is below Herman's 84.6%, when Herman was hired at Texas I don't understand what Cignetti has to do with the Citrus Bowl - is he subbing in for Moore at Michigan? Fans don't make coaching hires, but we sure do argue about them and act like we were all on board the "current hottest P4 name who wasn't even on our radar at the time"- Non-political tariffs thread
