  1. International Recruiting [edit] During his 12 seasons at Arizona, Miller signed a total of 13 international players. This group included six that would go on play in the NBA - highlighted by the first pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Deandre Ayton (Bahamas), 2023 NBA All-Star and the 2023 NBA Most Improved Player Award winner Lauri Markkanen (Finland) and Bennedict Mathurin (Canada). Nine of Miller's international signees would be named All-Conference including 2022 Pac-12 Conference Player of the Year Bennedict Mathurin (Canada) and 2018 Pac-12 Conference Player of the Year Deandre Ayton (Bahamas).[31]
  2. Our entire basketball history at Texas, men and women, is 6 Final Fours. There's probably a bunch of schools who can match that just in the last decade.
  3. You'd have to give him a minimum of $4 million lol
  4. Jai Lucas just took that job, he's not going to ditch out that fast. I also do not see Wright ever getting back into the game. The dude is 63 and lost his edge and passion. You're better off trying to get Tony Bennett, who is 8 years younger, by telling him you'll hire a GM to handle the NIL stuff.
  5. Lloyd has similar red flags with a smaller NCAA tournament resume - he's been a #1 seed once and a #2 seed twice and failed to get past the Sweet 16. The loss to a #15 seed in the 1st round is especially egregious.
  6. Wouldn't you just hire a GM with Donovan to handle that?
  7. NBA superstar egos and are paid way more than you? Sounds like shit.
  8. I don't mean it in a bad way, just on the scale of "competent upgrade over RT who will win games" and "sexy fucking hire of a big name, like Oates or Donovan", he's in the former category. And that's fine, because Texas needs a competent upgrade.
  9. Texas has wins over the #2, 10, 11 (x2), #13, #16, #17 (x2), #18, #19, #24, #28, #32, #36, #37 and #70 seeds. Losses were to #2 (x2) and #9 seeds
  10. We up to a $165 pot - would be $150 to the winner and $15 to second place.
  11. That's really the thing. If the coach is an upgrade over RT - I'm happy. And CDC has some leeway with this hire, considering his other non-RT hires. But man, the candidates that are an upgrade over RT is a long fucking list.
  12. He's a floor hire. Which, if its down to keeping RT or hiring Miller, I am fine with Miller + NIL. I just think we can do better.
  13. Part of me hopes CDC was just so disgusted and pissed by that shit show last night, he doesn't want to wait like he does for other coaches
  14. Painter is overrated when you don't have a 7'4 guy elbowing people in the head for defensive fouls
  15. This feels like it could be a Pierce type situation, where he knows he’s fired but we won’t know officially until CDC has his guy But Goodman made it seem like the firing is gonna happen first
  16. Yeah, on the one hand, I don't want them to lose early but then I also do
  17. Guess who got named Gatorade NPOY? (Duh, it's AC) OU and Texas are both hosting sub-regionals this weekend, along with South Carolina and UCLA. I'm sure people will be on the lookout to see if she is present at any of them. (Tech is going to Wyoming for the CBIT or whatever 3rd best postseason tournament is called)
  18. That might be it for Louisville There was sure a lot of whining about their #8 seed, while they are currently down double digits
  19. Someone check the McDonalds in Mansfield (OH, not TX)
  20. Oh i forgot about Pop Isaacs Fuck that guy
  21. That was like, 40% of games during his tenure
  22. During a work meeting - I approve
  23. you really can’t expect to keep your job after your lawyer basically sends your boss a letter that says “how about you eat my ass?”
  24. Not breaking the bank for Oates doesn’t mean we will hire the Tom Herman of candidates - a mid major filled with red flags but was sexy because he beat OU once
