  3. Early morning with the usual 9 + TK
  4. It’s chilly in Columbia this morning. Some rain later in the morning, so let’s just run rule them
  5. Off the board - to UNC Perhaps why we are looking at Smith from LSU now
  6. Granted, South Carolina would have a much tougher #2 than Duke - mostly UConn. But if seeds held, it was still going to be SEC vs SEC and B1G v B1G. It did not HAVE to be, but the committee made their decision. It could have easily been South Carolina, UCLA, Texas, USC
  7. Funny thing is, win or lose, I think Texas and South Carolina would still be meeting in the Final Four Texas lost - South Carolina #2, Texas #3 Texas wins - Texas #1, South Carolina #4
  8. And also not for nothing, but Texas didn't struggle as much as South Carolina did on their road to the Final Four, despite having what was seen as a much tougher path. There was legitimate moments in both the Maryland and Duke games, late, where South Carolina looked like they were headed for an early exit. Texas was never seriously in danger of losing either of their Sweet 16 or Elite 8 games. Wire to wire against TCU - tied a few times, never trailed. TCU's largest winning % was 35.5% when it was tied 29-29 Tennessee's largest winning % was 60.4% when they were up 2, sometime in the 3rd Q, and it quickly plummeted as Texas retook the lead and never let it go Maryland had a 60% chance of victory with 3 min left in the 4th Q versus South Carolina Duke had a 72.8% chance of victory in the closing seconds of the 3rd Q versus South Carolina Texas looked "the best" in our regional semifinals and finals games - South Carolina struggled to beat Maryland and Duke - both teams had leads in the 3rd/4th Q UConn was losing at the half to OU UCLA was only up 1 at the half to Ole Miss and it was a 3 point UCLA lead with 3:30 left in the game against LSU
  9. Texas needs to play loose and confident. This a team we are well scouted against; nothing they do will be a surprise Not that it matters, but when Texas played then the first time, we had played Alabama on a Thursday at home in a night game and then had to travel to Columbia and play on Sunday afternoon The second time, same deal, but we played Vandy at home on Thursday night and then hosted South Carolina on a Sunday afternoon - no travel The third time, we had just played 2 consecutive evening games against teams that wear you out defensively (Ole Miss and LSU), then had to turn around after a night game to play South Carolina in their backyard in the afternoon. Finally, Texas gets "rest" before facing them - we played on Monday, went back to Austin and then traveled to Tampa on Tuesday, so we got basically 2 full days and most of Tuesday in Tampa before we have to play today.
  10. Too lazy to scroll down? That’s middle management if I ever saw it
  11. The flip side of that is Texas' .350 SEC batting average, with 14 HR Team ERA in SEC play is 2.79, mostly due to Cam's 28.00 ERA in 1 IP. If you remove that, 2.37 ERA And before anyone says "omg, 2.79 is not good for Texas" - Tennessee is 2.98, OU is 3.33, Florida is 3.81, LSU is 1.99 (with the easiest schedule of the top 5 SEC teams) Texas - Florida, Auburn, MSST Tenn - Georgia, Arky, OU OU - South Carolina, Arky, Mizzou, Tenn Florida - aggy, Texas, Auburn LSU - Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina
  12. Mizzou has only one player hitting over .320 - .270 as a team. Really only 2 major power threats - Crenshaw (10 HR, .373) and Walker (13 HR, .246). 2 other plays with 8 and 6 HR and then not much else. Crenshaw has 4 of her 10 HR in SEC play, while 12 of Walker's 13 HRs were in non-conf play. Mizzou is only hitting .233 with 11 HR in SEC play They have a team 3.49 ERA overall, which balloons to 5.13 ERA in SEC play Their workhorse in SEC play has been Marissa McCann (6.53 ERA in 24.2 IP), followed by Ciera Harrison (3.06 ERA in 16 IP). They are near the bottom of the SEC standings for a reason (2-7), but they did hold OU to 1 run in that game 2 victory. They got swept by a really average Kentucky team (6-4, 5-4, 9-6), lost 2 of 3 to OU (8-0, 5-1, 3-1 W) and lost 2 of 3 to Ole Miss (1-0, 5-3, 9-5 W) Texas needs to sweep
  13. This was someone I was really hoping would follow Xavier to Texas. They would have been better than First Four this year if he was coming off the bench, behind Freemantle.
  14. But they’ve done it in their rooms or outside the resort. I do recall Kate, I think, scolding Jaclyn for using it at breakfast one morning or something.
  15. We gonna get a white guy who can shoot 3s or what? Bc Barnes, Shaka and Beard decided to do that once they left
  16. Fla’Jae is forgoing the draft and coming back for another year

  22. Former Gamecock A'ja Wilson gave the gals a pair of her shoes - super classy since we face her former program on Friday
  23. That would be a hilarious hire
  24. Edi Patterson said most of her scene with Mullaly was unscripted. They just went with it
