  2. The Glass Steagall Act was part of the Banking Act of 1933 literally enacted after the 1929 market crash caused by speculative investing (among other things) and after repeal in 1999 due to banking lobby, again caused speculative MBS investment and the GFC of 2008 Project 2025 saying it isn’t a good idea is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever read about finance

  8. What a great quote. I learned early on in the many companies I worked that to be in charge, you just needed to be confident. You didn’t need to actually know anything or be an expert, but as long as you could stand in front of a large group of people and speak confidently, that’s all that mattered.

  12. This isn't a new phenomenon, nor is it restrained to tech, R&D, and technical employees. It's simple. Older employees are more expensive and can be replaced by younger employees. (Stop: I'm fully aware the young employee doesn't know shit compared to the old employee). The company doesn't give a fuck. They're willing to exchange the decline in knowledge for cheaper labor. Again, this isn't new or constrained to any career. It happens every year and will continue to happen. One of my relatives is an HR manager for a Fortune 500 company. A couple years ago during a decline in the industry, they fired all the expensive people (typically older) and said they would hire new grads in a year or two.

A conservative non-profit organization started by some crazy bitch in an effort to attack Anita Hill for besmirching the honorable Uncle Clarence.
