  1. America is not for sale? Bitch, you’re wearing discount Nazi costumes, everything is for sale.
  2. What’s the point in banning if they can just keep making new handles?
  3. Who’s the anti-vax sock? A couple pop up every now and again
  4. You ain’t lying. I talk to people moving from Florida all time. The HOI premiums make mortgages unaffordable
  5. No I am not saying it’s not possible to learn anything from the numbers. The exact opposite actually. Listen, I understand putting certain people on the cover absolutely alienated their core audience. It’s not rocket science. The majority of their readers are white Christian males and want to see white Christian women. I’m just positing that the overall trend of magazines going out of business (due to macro forces) had a more substantive effect than any decline due to “provocative” editions. I just find it strange people want to attribute it to a niche reason when the entire industry is facing similar fates.
  6. Is there publicly available sales data? I am sure there won’t be declining sales since 2000 with the explosion of internet, since 2010 since iPhone exploded, since 2012 when iPads became huge, and since 2016 since Tik Tok had every girl doing bikini dances for clicks. Totally the big girl’s fault
  7. Old Austin thrived in 60s/70s/80s. The last decade was in the 90s Old Austin died in 2000s 2010-2020 was the birth of New Austin
  8. Here are the rankings by average rating as opposed to 247 Carb Load Style
  9. This is the most poignant point made thus far. It is an issue, and most likely the underlying reason for any pushback. I am extremely guilty of this and need to do a better job. The genesis of this phenomenon, at least in my understanding, is that certain people have revealed themselves to be complete monsters, specifically towards treating others as human beings or showing any sense of compassion. It’s not just disheartening, it’s depressing. This isn’t just a message board thing either. This phenomenon affects every aspect of real life. Therefore, any previous or normal level of civility or benefit of the doubt given has been exhausted due to repeated displays of horribleness. There was a certain shared baseline of commonality, and it’s been revealed to not exist at certain levels. People are exhausted.
  10. Or maybe it’s 2023 and no one reads magazines
  11. They have 4 years until the judicial branch is terminated
  12. Logic: He plays a lot of golf. It’s most likely golf grip blisters Trump media: it’s from paper cuts
  13. From the other thread about declining revenue and/or increasing users. It seems like there is a profitability issue. There was discussion of the “CR echo chamber” as to why this place isn’t more profitable. I remember a link to an SEC rant page discussing as much. A known poster using a sock handle with 4 posts championed that narrative. Might have been Rex or GRHorn. Who knows. I believe this is at least part of the concern The political boards on SEC rant and Texags are pure qAnon garbage bins. Therein lies the rub. Is it possible the majority of college football message boards skew that way? I wouldn’t be surprised.
  14. Yup. We’ve talked about this before offline but not only was the below true, it felt like it
  15. I think the market is an emotional overreacting bitch
  16. Down 56 basis points this week. Was up 46 last week. Was down 47 the before. Up Down Up Down
  17. Is there a way to email that to every Hispanic voter that voted for Trump in 2022? @Brisketexan Does the Leopard Eating Faces party have an email list?
  18. Here is how confusion begins. LHL is arguing that since Mexican officials informed BP of the migrant deaths that occurred at 8pm at 9pm, then the BP could not possibly have saved them. Therefore TNG did not stop BP from saving their lives since it was impossible due to timing. Any official that states TNG stopped BO from saving their life is lying Greg Abbot argues the same position https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-admin-admits-migrants-drownings-occurred-before-border-patrol-alerted-texas-officials Here is the disconnect. “Texas officials blocked Patrol from attempting to provide emergency assistance” is actually a true statement when you take into account when Texas seized control of the area. The assumption is BP would have been able to provide emergency assistance before the migrants died if they were doing their jobs patrolling the area like always. And since no migrants drowned on their watch previously, it’s not an outrageous assumption. Greg Abbot, Fox News, and LHL are trying to frame the argument that since the migrants died before BP was informed of the deaths, Texas National Guard did not block emergency assistance from saving their lives. That statement is also true, but it’s ignoring a shit ton of context. Yay America
  19. It’s probably a little more complicated than that
