  1. I honestly just assumed all of the "historic" Big 12 teams played baseball, even if not very well. It's just a sport that everyone has. The only team we'd hear about at a national level would be Texas, anyway. I only knew Iowa State didn't have a team because of that weird feel-good storying going around of their softball team trading fandoms with West Virginia a couple of years ago.
  2. Didn't Kelly bail because they were going on probation and he had a show-cause penalty?
  3. Today I learned that Colorado doesn't have a Div 1 baseball team.
  4. Have they not watched Portlandia? They're really missing out.
  5. One great thing about Gainesville is that it's not just a great college town but is also just a couple hours from Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Daytona, etc. I don't know much about Eugene but it looks like it's is under 2 hours drive to Portland. That has to add a lot.
  6. Not having your starting QB in a playoff game and relying on a RS freshmen making his first career start greatly affected Georgia offensively. As bad as Beck has been this year he's still great at setting protections, going through progressions, etc. Let's not forget that Kirby with all of his great recruiting somehow got himself stuck having to go to the portal to get a transfer RB who refuses to pass protect. ETN is a great runner but it's an incomplete player. They needed more than that this year with their issues at QB.
  7. No. I get it. The 1997 Sugar Bowl was very cathartic. Bowden was such a piece of shit. It was great to give him the worst championship game loss ever at the time.
  8. The same schools with resources that have what it takes to win today will have what it takes to win in the years to come. It will still come down to getting the right coach, and getting the talent and keeping them happy. I think the whole situation is way too volatile to try to come up with long term shifts. Millionaires like staying millionares and while the big schools have always had a handful of boosters willing to toss money around for recruiting and for access to the program, NIL has suddenly turned it from fat cats throwing around hundreds or thousands on gameday to now being asked for 6 or 7 figure donations. Not many will be willing to do that on a consistent bases. The "little guys" in the SEC and B1G will have a shot but they will be more about catching lightning in a bottle with a great hire that inspires some boosters two buy one or two classes or one off situations like Oregon where you have an aging billionaire who is willing to throw millions away so he can try to finally see a win before he dies. Aren't you the one who asked the AI the question? If you don't know how it figured it out, that doesn't leave much hope for the rest of us.
  9. Aside from the fact that endowment isn't really connected to NIL, I don't understand your list and how it determined the rankings. Pitt has a larger endowment and is easier to get into than UNC... so why are they below UNC? For that matter, why is Illinois below UNC with the same endowment and easier to get into than UNC?
