  1. It's been interesting to see the different perspective about Utah. I work with a few Utes who live in SLC, and they're all pretty laid back and are really casual about the whole thing. It might be because none of them are die hard football fans. There are occasional chatter about odd laws that Utah has (or had) in place to appease Mormons but usual talk is ways to work around them or do their own thing, like Pie & Beer Day. Also, those that traveled to Gainesville last year were pretty easy going (though they didn't really interact with Gators but did their own thing), but I think that would go for anyone who has the means and desire to travel a few thousand miles for a football game against a non-rival. There's no need for any animosity between us. Urban is long gone and any bitterness from that is long gone.
  2. Now it gets really messy since it's 6:05 MST.
  3. Well, Sankey's latest masterstroke has been discovered.
  4. I dunno. Just thinking through secenarios. I never liked the bullshitting type boardgames.
  5. I'm thinking it might be a bit of panic by FSU because they see the number of outside slots going away. The chaos concept was about convincing enough ACC teams that there were better options out there in the SEC, B1G and Big 12. Well, one slot is already gone in the Big 12 and it looks like we're days away from the Big 12 closing up expansion shop and with it, their ability to sell the idea to several ACC schools. -- This could also be why we're suddenly seeing OU and UW to B1G rumors again. The B1G wants all of their possible expansion options fighting for a spot and probably willing to take even less money to make it happen.
  6. But why talk about it in public? Just do it.
  7. I didn't watch. I assumed they were just going to do the chop and then get excited that they know how to spell their name like usual.
  8. not sure how such a typo is even possible.
  9. Given the history of actual predators on B1G campuses for decades that was somehow missed, they may just not have a keen sense for it.
  10. They've probably talked to B1G and SEC and both said, "come talk to us once you've figured out the GoR and we'll see how things look." Probably trying to make a lot of noice to create some FOMO to get more of a commitment from someone or at least a guarantee for membership "whenever" it can actually happen.
  11. Which one got stuck doing Maryland/Charlotte as their primetime game of the week?
  12. I'm thinking there are 4 current B1G schools that would say screw that to being put in a division with 6 west coast schools.
  13. As in a small forest within a forest?
  14. I'd say just have an employee bring in a Roku from home for that TV in the corner, but we don't know if the cease and desist would be coming from Apple's lawyers or from the Pac's lolyers.
  15. Seems like the best solution for all involved is just to close up shop. Go ahead and turn the fake classroom stadium into a real classroom.
  16. I had no idea you had to pay extra for it. Never watched a game and figured it was included the same way Amazon has some NFL games. Never really looked any further into it. Looks like it's an additional $13/month.
  17. $7 a month isn't a bad deal. Something tells me the standalone ESPN streaming thing is gonna be $30+
  18. Are we sure about that? Everything I've read states that the Exit Fee is based on the ACC's revenue and ND's fee is not reduced. So they'd be looking at $100M Exit + ~$150 M GoR buyout prior to any negotiations. Half of what full members are looking at but still significant. But that number is assuming that their current deal doesn't change. Remember the NBC deal is about to end and also the ACC's payout increases every year as well. Agree with this. If they get the expected $60M from NBC plus their ACC payout, I'd be surprised if the delta was less than 5 years for Notre Dame.
  19. AC may have just popped the breaker. I'd start there.
  20. 1/3 of the cost is still not cheap. Plus they still need to pay the full exit fee, correct? And they'd also be gaining less because their NBC+ACC deal combined is a smaller gap compared to what they would get by jumping.
