  1. So, theoretically speaking of course, could someone, say a fan of a rival, win Megamillions this weekend, then buy FSU so they can go full-Elon on it for fun?
  2. USCw reminding everyone that they're a villain here in case you forgot while you were busy blaming Texas. https://www.on3.com/teams/usc-trojans/news/musings-from-arledge-dont-do-it-big-ten/
  3. Per some Oregon fan on Reddit, it looks like it was a one-off jersey from 2015, so probably a replica that never got the patch that the player wanted to wear.
  4. Seems like an odd decision. Unless they've decided that they're not going to play in the Pac12 in 2023.
  5. South Florida (Tampa) - Bulls - this is the big public school that is in the AAC Florida Southern (Lakeland) - Mocs - this is a small private Div II school that's been around a lot longer. Both have a geography problem and are actually just about 30 miles apart both in Central Florida.
  6. Just the Knights. They made a huge deal in the 90s about adding "Golden" and got pissed if anyone only called them the Knights. Then they dropped it a decade later and are now pissed that people keep calling them "Golden" because it's harder to get someone to drop an adjective than add it. It's rather funny.
  7. Florida Southern are the Mocs
  8. The only argument I could see would be "it takes 3/4 to kick any single member out so it would logically follow that it takes 3/4 to kick everyone out." It's crazy that dissolution is mentioned but no vote requirements are listed. By comparison, I don't see dissolution listed anywhere in the SEC bylaws by comparison. Maybe they have a separate doc?

  10. Here's the ACC's bylaws. I see it speaks of the process for what happens when the conference dissolves, but it doesn't list it as a "two-thirds" or "three-fourths" required vote. https://virginiatech.sportswar.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/15/2022/08/2020-21-ACC-Manual-2020-9-17-2.pdf
  11. I'll have to see if I can find a link to the bylaws, but the ACC doesn't call for any specific vote ratio for dissolution and anything not listed with a specific ratio is a simple majority.
  12. Yes. Just need a simple majority of the 15 to dissolve which would get rid of the exit fee but the GoR would continue to exist. Maybe the plan is that the GoR is really untenable if there is no ACC and now it's 15 separate deals that have to be dealt with and ESPN will be more willing to negotiate?
  13. We don't know. Could be Episcopalian.
  14. DudefromWV is now saying that 8 ACC teams are going to leave "in mass"
  15. Athletic Director at UNC.
  16. Thanks... Twitter just doesn't work well for me anymore. I couldn't see part 2 or any other reply and when I clicked on his personal profile, the most recent post is several weeks old.
  17. Wait... are there still 8?
  18. It's been interesting to see the different perspective about Utah. I work with a few Utes who live in SLC, and they're all pretty laid back and are really casual about the whole thing. It might be because none of them are die hard football fans. There are occasional chatter about odd laws that Utah has (or had) in place to appease Mormons but usual talk is ways to work around them or do their own thing, like Pie & Beer Day. Also, those that traveled to Gainesville last year were pretty easy going (though they didn't really interact with Gators but did their own thing), but I think that would go for anyone who has the means and desire to travel a few thousand miles for a football game against a non-rival. There's no need for any animosity between us. Urban is long gone and any bitterness from that is long gone.
  19. Now it gets really messy since it's 6:05 MST.
