  1. Didn't this whole discussion get started by fattie or someone else asking for a Toyota/Kia/Hyundai version of a F-250/Silverado HD. We're not even comparing the right trucks. yep there it is
  2. I have an original copy of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 50th anniversary cookbook so I figured I’d grab a couple chili recipes for it from this thread. These will help settle the debate or enrage it. The date ranger here is 1932-1982, They also have a brisket recipe which is spoilered below. NSFW
  3. We made Texas chili Tuesday night served as frito pies with a side of cornbread. Usual toppings on the chili. Finished most of the leftovers Wednesday night. Thursday enchiladas and Mexican rice were made. So Friday I ate the last half a cup of chili served over about a cup of rice, was mighty tasty. Not sure I’d make it fresh but as leftovers thrown together was good to go. No pics taken or I’d have posted in the steel shank thread instead.
  4. *unless you’ve moved to the newest 500k+ home master planned golf cart community designed for families so you can be around 2000 people who happen to be in the similar tax bracket top 5% types. And an hour outside city center.
  5. Trunk or treat started as a small town thing where it wasn’t easy for kids to go door to door so they would centralize trick or treating somewhere kids could get a lot of candy in a small area. Naturally it spread to suburbs and cities because it’s way more convenient in many cases. Churches were/are common places to host. Traditional trick or treating day of still exists too and really depends on the neighborhood. Our neighborhood has actually had more young families move in the last couple years so it’s gotten busier than it was five years ago but it’s still probably only a 1/3 house participation. We handed out candy even before kids because we felt like we needed to for the kids and the neighborhood as homeowners. We have two boys now so my wife walks them and I stay back and hand out candy. Both of us doing the walking effectively shut us down from handing out candy because no way I’m leaving a bowl out with a sign, shit half the kids didn’t even listen to take 1-2 pieces from me holding the bowl out and just grab handfuls anyways.
  6. /we all know the speech
  7. I was never worried for one second we’d win this game, not sure what some of y’all were watching, but losing never crossed my mind.
  8. But at least a nice steak dinner first, right?
  9. All it would take his him getting to some planned spot getting in a vehicle that won’t immediately tie to him and driving off. Boston is 2 hours away. I’ve been to Auburn/Lewiston, flew into Boston, drove to Portland, then Auburn, went back and forth to Portland and the thing I remember about the drive is we seemed to go a different route each time based on who was driving (was with locals to Auburn). Lots of windy roads, alternate routes, minimal traffic, highways avoided to avoid cops, etc. I’m honestly surprised we don’t have more of these events where the person does try and get away to do it all over again somewhere else. Gotta up the game to become infamous. Surprised we haven’t had a DC sniper copycat for example.
  10. Dude looks like he spends every day at the capital (grille).
  11. Damn, Union so good they already got their workers another dollar per hour!
  12. Never the less if the documentary "Waiting" taught me anything it's that you made the right choice.
