Best Pocket Knife?
Have you considered something like the Ontario Rat-1 or Rat-2? Not the same classic look, but may be a match for what you're looking for. Both are lighter than the Buck and the blades are AUS-8 steel which I understand to be superior to the Buck's 420HC steel. Both are around $30 https://www.amazon.com/Ontario-Knife-ON8848-BRK-Rat-1/dp/B0013ASG3E/ref=pd_bxgy_200_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0013ASG3E&pd_rd_r=YWFT3WZ270ERZYZ679DA&pd_rd_w=sH0Yf&pd_rd_wg=1YNtO&psc=1&refRID=YWFT3WZ270ERZYZ679DA

About 4 years after we'd moved into a new home, my wife found something heavy and metal on an unused top shelf in our bathroom. She called me in to get it because she couldn't reach that high. This is what I pulled out, loaded. After 4 years, you think you know a house... My dad made the holster.

First, congrats to Monster on earning the right to play with knives. Incidentally, do they still cut corners of the card when someone catches you screwing around with a blade? Seems like there's a decent chance that whatever you get him now he'll also own as an adult, so I think I'd skip the Bear Grylls just because I'd be suspicious of the quality. Of the two Schrade, I think it'd come down to which style you think he'd prefer. Since I'm kinda old now, my tastes tend to lean more toward a classic look so I'd vote for the black one. If you're open to some other more of a "classic" option, here's a couple I'd like to own. Ruthe 21 for about $22 https://www.knifecountryusa.com/store/product/213704.213727/ruthe-21-hatchet-with-hickory-handle.html or Snow & Neally Penobscot Bay for about $56 or so. This one's been on my list for awhile now. http://www.forestry-suppliers.com/product_pages/products.php?mi=25201&title=Snow & Nealley Penobscot Bay Kindling Axe&itemnum=33086

Solo: A Star Wars Story
I’ve had mixed feelings about Howard coming on board. No doubt he’s an accomplished director, but from the outside, it seemed that this film was too far off course for even he to correct. I’m hoping I’m wrong and that he managed to snatch this one out of the fire.
