  1. MSU running Shapen a lot right now. I'm not sure that is good idea..
  2. Collin Johnson maybe?
  3. More than a bit of a push off there by Georgia and announcers don't say anything.
  4. He jumped into the neutral zone and was immediately touched by Campbell. Assuming his upper helmet/torso were actually in the neutral zone as it appeared, it should have been a flag on Vandy. Really though, Baker needed to do the same thing to the edge that was clearly and obviously in the neutral zone and we have a much better chance of getting that call.
  5. Shapen doing Shapen things. He might be the least clutch QB ever.
  6. Wow. Georgia looking like our secondary there (without Taaffe)
  7. MSU needs to move the ball now to give their defense a break.
  8. I'm mainly annoyed right now because I know the Georgia defense we play will look nothing like this. Kirby just gets his team playing at a different level versus us for whatever reason.
  9. That's what I'm doing today. I really like YouTube TV, so I'm keeping the subscription active for now. But if this doesn't get resolved by next weekend, I'll probably pause the subscription or cancel and roll with Sling day passes.
  10. Mississippi State makes it look easy on the first drive.
  11. Hulu is garbage. The interface sucks. It is fucking impossible to just find a channel compared to Youtube TV.
  12. I don't think YouTube is playing itself there.
  13. It is certainly possible, but unlikely. YTTV works fine for me (except for ABC/ESPN of course).
  14. LOL. Amazing Northwestern. Just amazing.
  15. I agree. I just said it wasn't as obvious as the edge because his feet were not.
  16. So, the rule is actually a bit nuanced. Just because a defender is in the neutral zone, doesn't mean that a lineman can move and not get called for false start. The only time it is penalty on the defense is when the lineman that moves does so in sudden reaction to a defender actually threatening them. In the play you reference, the Vandy edge was clearly in the neutral zone, but the tackle next to him didn't move. I think it was Campbell that moved at the right guard spot and touched the defender in front of him. I still think it should have been offsides because it sure looked like the helmet and a portion of the upper torso of that Defender was in the neutral zone as well. But it was a bit closer call just because his feet were still not in the neutral zone.
  17. Good college tackles often don't get drafted. 6th round is still NFL. And we still have 4 of the five from last year in the NFL. Our line was a good pass blocking line that could zone block effectively at times. They weren't maulers. But it was still a very good college line, just not elite.
  18. This was a feature of our defense before PK. I know y'all want to play everything on the coach that has been here for less than a year, but these aren't new problems for us. We expect a lot of defenders and when they are inexperienced, it tends to lead to problems. I just don't see how any of this is Akina's fault. When the experienced guys play, our coverage is much tighter.
  19. Bigger issue will be how the line handles it. If we pick up blitzes at least well enough to prevent immediate pressure, I'm comfortable that Arch can handle it (unless bad Arch returns). The coordination at the line was so much better against Vanderbilt than anything we've seen all season.
  20. A known commodity with a strong history of constantly developing NFL and Thorpe winning DBs. I just don't see anything different here than what we saw with young players in PK's defense early on. Our linebackers are struggling with depth. This happened before. Our safeties are struggling with their responsibilities. We've seen this before. And we are struggling with communication on the back end. This we've seen before. All of these things can get fixed with experience. Having so many young players out there end up meaning that someone is always messing up.
  21. Not giving him any credit for developing those NFL players is a choice.
  22. The same people blaming Akina today were blaming Gideon in 2023. We've seen this playout with PK's defense twice now. When the linebackers and secondary are young/inexperienced, there are a lot of holes and coverage busts. Once we get them trained up, those go away. I think we ask our defenders to do a lot in terms of understanding the overall defense. That leads to hesitation and mistakes early on. But when players get it, it works really well and creates a very flexible and capable defense. And the hate of Akina is ridiculous generally. Using the fact that he has consistently put DBs into the NFL against him is crazy. He clearly knows how to teach the position, although with a specialty in man-coverage. We probably could and should have run more man coverage against Vanderbilt at the end. But I think we put a lot on emphasis on players learning during a game. And if they don't rep it in a live game, they don't get the experience necessary to learn what to do and what not to do.
  23. McCutcheon did. I don't think Filsaime did. He went out on the 4th and 19 play. Even if he had recovered enough to play, I'm not sure how he would have time to get back out there.
  24. Baxter just hasn't been effective this year. He goes down instantly.
