  1. I mean, Trump has literally floated that exact thing. But it wasn't my hypo. I was just answering the question, so I'll stop the thread derail.
  2. Well, the hypothetical was US withdrawal. Germany only has nukes because the US does. Without NATO, the EU only has nukes because France does. So if the US nuclear umbrella weren't reliable, I absolutely believe Germany and other EU powers would scramble to develop and deploy their own.
  3. Ukraine is an obvious example. And I don't really see why it would require coordination with another country. You could also see countries like Germany in the EU wanting to add a nuclear arsenal if US protection weren't guaranteed.
  4. Not really. If they are going to charge, this is how you charge it. Manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide don't fit the facts. "First Degree Murder" isn't really a thing in Texas. You have Murder, which is a first degree felony. But at the punishment phase it can be reduced to a second degree felony if the defendant can prove the murder caused by "sudden passion arising from an adequate cause" (basically, was provoked in a way that prevented rational thought).
  5. I don't think there is much dispute that Iran was in non-compliance with the torn up agreement shortly before Israel attacked. All sources indicate Iran accelerated its accumulation of highly enriched material relatively recently But people keep conflating having highly enriched material with having bomb grade enrichment or actively developing a bomb. Iran had certainly positioned itself to fairly quickly create a weapon if it needed to. There hasn't been any specific evidence that they actually made in moves toward taking those final steps.
  6. I get it. You ignore anything and everything that points to obvious anti-science approach of our current administration. You're a pathetic hypocrite and I'll continue to point that out.
  7. Obviously we should rush to deploy a novel treatment rather than utilize proven, safe, and effective vaccines!
  8. I figured it would be good to plug one of the really good youtube channels that started up with the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The end of this particular video discusses the most recent strike.
  9. Vast portions of this thread are dedicated to the idea that Iranians hid information on their nuclear program from inspectors with the IAEA under the previous agreement despite all audited and reported findings suggesting compliance with the agreement. No substantive proof of their non-compliance as ever been publicly disclosed. Assuming all of this was correct, it would be foolish to believe that Iran isn't sophisticated enough to continue to hide the true state of their nuclear program.
  10. 12 in a row. 6 holes, 2 MOPS each plus one or two more at Natanz. Again, very impressive execution. But, to be clear, the public penetration rating for them is 200 feet of earth or 60 feet of reinforced concrete. Being able to penetrate 200 feet of reinforced concrete would be absolutely bonkers. And the MOP definitely can't do that.
  11. I don't think it is fair to call it a failure even if it didn't result in complete destruction of the facility. I also don't know what the purpose of randomly dropping smaller bombs are dirt would be. By all accounts, this was an extraordinary tactical success and a well coordinated strike. I doubt any of the military planners seriously expected there to be a high chance of complete destruction of the facility.
  12. Oh, I don't think we were necessarily aiming for a vent shaft or anything like that. But we were definitely aiming to have each pair of bombs follow the other to maximize the overall penetration.
  13. Dirt is still a very good protector. And when the facilities are buried under hundreds of feet of dirt and rock, even the very best bunker buster is going to have difficulty. There is a reason we used a dozen of these things on the facility Top Gun Maverick style (aiming for the same hole). I recall the initial Israeli assessment was similar to the recent reporting: entrances to the facilities were buried, but the critical material was likely not destroyed. Digging can happen quickly. With modern equipment, it doesn't necessarily take that long to move a lot of dirt. That said, I think the delay caused by this strike is on the order of months. Significant, but not a real long-term impediment.
  14. You get this information from the same source that told you the Trump voting, rabid anti-abortionist, radical evangelical church attending assassin of a democratic law maker and her husband, who also attempted to kill another democratic lawmaker, and who had a hit list of dozens of democrats and abortion providers was leftwing radical?
  15. Was that poster supposed to be a promotional for drug use?
  16. Yes, that is what I meant. Brain fart. SFF can definitely run louder, but thermals aren't usually that bad with well designed cases. Everything is ventilated and components are closer to the edge, so you end up with everything actually having easier access to cool to air from outside the case. Many are also specifically designed with AIO in mind, which can help keep noise down as well. Basically, you can get fairly quiet operation, but you'll likely have to get more expensive cooling components to make it happen.
  17. https://arstechnica.com/health/2025/06/cdcs-once-revered-vaccine-panel-now-a-farce-calls-grow-to-scrap-meeting/ "Meanwhile, Kennedy's anti-vaccine agenda appears to be moving forward undeterred. On Tuesday, the CDC released the final agenda for tomorrow's ACIP meeting. Kennedy had already altered the agenda to add discussions of two long-standing vaccines: certain flu vaccines that use the mercury-based preservative thimerosal and certain measles vaccines. There is no controversy over these vaccines among experts, but they have long been the target of misinformation and fearmongering by anti-vaccine advocates, including Kennedy. According to the final ACIP agenda, the meeting will also now include a presentation and recommendations on flu vaccines from Lyn Redwood. She is a nurse with no expertise in vaccinations, infectious diseases, or any other relevant field for the ACIP. Rather, she was the president of Kennedy's rabid anti-vaccine organization Children's Health Defense and promotes the debunked falsehood that thimerosal-containing vaccines cause autism." @Anastasis is filled with glee.
  18. Nice. The A3 is nice design with plenty of room to work in. It lacks cable management, but otherwise works well. Mine has a 8700, RTX 2070, 650W PSU (ATX), with Peerless Assassin 120 SE for CPU cooling (complete overkill, but cheap and quiet for the 8700). I just put in 3 120 fans for exhaust at the top and one 120 fan for intake at the bottom in a negative pressure setup. CPU draws cool air from the back of the case and GPU draws cool air from the bottom. Both exhaust to towards the center. The exhaust fans are positioned forward in the case so as to focus the exhaust there where warm air accumulates. I have it setup as a streaming gaming setup with Sunshine/Moonlight. We stream it to the big screens in the house for family gaming nights (things like Overcooked that can do 4+ players). My son and I have also been playing Space Marine 2 and No Man's Sky. And we use it for streaming PC VR games. I do want the next build to be a true SFF at 20L or under. I just saw the Lian Li Era 2 and I'm adding to my list of potentials. Bit more expensive than the others, but a very nice looking case with good thermals apparently.
  19. "Intentionally" suggests a level of consciousness that I don't believe applies to Trump.
  20. He should really go after the ones that assassinate politicians. There is massive one that is incredibly violent and even tried to take the capitol!
  21. Yes, but the heaviest volume tends to occur right before close. There could definitely be an element of market manipulation here.
  22. So I just finished my old system (coffee lake i7) to a Lian Li A3 case. I've also put together a budget Ryzen build for a friend. And that has gotten me in the building mood. I've decided I want my next build to be SFF. Cases I have my eye on are the Ncase M2, Lian Li A4 H2O, and the Fractal Design Terra. While I'm tempted by a top of line AM5 build, the prices on the Intel 265K are getting hard to ignore (even if the gaming performance isn't the absolute best). $225 for a very strong multi tasking chip with still plenty of a gaming muscle is very intriguing. I'm never upgrading often enough to actual be on the same platform by the time I upgrade, so I'm not worried about that. I'm thinking maybe a 4080? Just have to make sure the card fits. Oh the fun!
  23. Posts like this are how we know the terrorists have won.
  24. I counted about 20 missiles used for intercept. Definitely more than 15. Hard to get an accurate count with the shaky camera work. Pretty good hit percentage for Patriot with those numbers.
