Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Caldwell would likely have given us a better shot at beating Ohio State versus the Arch we got. I think the crazy drills he worked on over the summer at that Alabama camp completely fucked his throwing mechanics coming into the season. It took a few games for everything to sync up with him again. There was really no way to expect that he was going to be that bad early on, but Arch improving under life fire was always going to be part of the process this season and beyond. Apparently, some people on this site can only see the world in black and white. Suggesting that if Arch continues to struggle with basic football mechanics that we might should play Caldwell is seen as a declaration that we must play Caldwell as opposed to the conditional statement that it is. The Arch we saw against Florida and OU is so much better than the Arch we got against Ohio State and UTEP. I'm very much glad he has apparently got over his early season yips. Now we need him to start processing the field much more quickly, which he is already starting to do. We need to keep giving him chances to execute the more complex plays for his development while building game plans that overall protect his limitations from over exposure. It would be helpful in that regard if we could get our screen game working. Right now, we either miss blocks, or Arch throws a pass that takes away all momentum from the receiver. If we get that cleaned up, we'll be in a good position to have success the rest of the season as Arch's game continues to develop.

A lot of 12 personnel, outside zone for running, some more quick hitting plays (although those didn't necessarily work that well), and Tre is just much better than our other running blocks, particularly at finding creases in zone and catching out of the backfield. But our left guard not getting blown up every play and tripping up the rest of our line certainly helped. Like 50% of the pressure against Florida was given up by our LG. That one position has been killing any chance of our offense doing anything. Yesterday's game plan wouldn't have worked without much better LG play. And Arch now hitting some of the short throws was also pretty important The interesting thing about running more outside zone is that we have absolutely sucked at it until yesterday.

We stopped playing the turnstile.

Texas O-line talk
Not having half a blocking sled at guard that can't move and trips everyone else up sure did wonders for line cohesion. These guys were practicing with Neto all spring and get forced Stroh last second. I really don't understand it. It wasn't fair to the team or to Stroh.

Auburn refuses to even attempt defense this drive.

Wtf is Auburn doing on this sideways passes. There isn't a defender within 15 yards of the receiver.

I think the refs are helping Auburn with the pants shitting.

A team that gets called for more penalties than any other team in conference (possibly in all of college football) vs the team that gets straight up hand jobs from the refs seems like a poor matchup. I guess we'll just have to be that much more dominant to make up for it. I'm sure we'll come back to it having been reviewed and Georgia actually getting a TD.

If this were a South American soccer match, the refs would be dead within 5 minutes of the end of the game. The threat of violence may be the only way Auburn avoids this shit going forward. They need heads on pikes as a warning to future officials.

They said they called it on the kicking team. Apparently they decided to enforce it against Auburn.

If Auburn fans let the refs leave alive, they aren't the people I thought they were.

I think that is a break for Florida.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
He played much better this game even if he was slow with his reads still. Once Brooks settled in at left guard, everything worked better on offense.

Take Nick Brooks helmet, scholarship, and NIL
Yeah, maybe we shouldn't have wasted the beginning of the season on Stroh.
