  1. Someone's going to say it. I won't, but someone will.
  2. So...pants optional?
  3. Nearly identical teams playing each other. Both have good ground games, QBs who are decent runners and okay passers. Stout defenses. Big, physical. Some variable will have to insert itself for this one to be lopsided.
  4. We need to ramp up the activity here on Surly to counteract what they're saying, otherwise the players on the field in the actual game will be at a disadvantage. Fans, not players, win the games through jinxes, reverse jinxes, criticism, sunshine pumping, wish-casting, and raw emotion. Get to work, boys. Bring your lunch pails and high motors to Surly and be coaches on the board. Be warriors.
  5. It's a metaphor for how well our defense will contain Smith. Just barely.
  6. To be fair, the same can be true about Will Howard being 0-for against Texas but people keep bringing that up as a reason we're going to win.
  7. Nice catch, obviously, but what a throw. That release... VY was special.
  8. I was thinking more along the lines of Axe Body Spray.
  9. Or...hear me out...you fuck right off. I'll express my opinion whenever and wherever I feel like it. If you don't like it, then keep scrolling.
  10. Play action passes are fine provided it's against man defense and it's a play designed for really only one WR/TE target. On the TD pass to Helm, he was going to Helm or nothing. He didn't need his slow brain, just a set of eyes to see where the defender is in relation to Helm. Open? Throw. Not open? Don't throw. If it's zone or NOT a play drawn up for a very specific WR/TE, then Ewers has to process information (what's the coverage and who's going to BE open...which is a future decision, not a "now" decision made with the eyes) and he needs every fucking millisecond for his brain to get rolling. I think PA and other eye candy plays hurt him and should be replaced with shotgun snap, eyes downfield from the get-go. His slow processing is why he can't work the pocket when protection isn't great and even a single defender is getting through. It asks him to mentally multitask and he doesn't have it. PA, or anything with his eyes not downfield, and a soft pocket results in a panic/surprise response. He needs to be processing all of the time or none of the time (predetermined target).
  11. I enjoy your analysis, so take this as the joke that it is.
  12. TCU, SMU, and Baylor seem to be missing. All have endowments around $2-3b. USC is missing. Notre Dame is missing. Stanford? Public schools only? Also, NIL has little to do with endowment. Somewhat correlated since endowment and NIL are tied to donors (among other things), but it's a spurious correlation.
  13. *Checks UGA/ND score* "Nevermind. Friday's good."
  14. Notre Dame is demonstrating the value of a QB who is a threat to run. Do we have anyone like that?
  15. Agreed. It ruined an otherwise completely realistic movie.
  16. Barron is incredible, but Smith is a matchup nightmare.
  17. Hopefully someone who can scheme people wide ass open like I see every single week from teams with far less talent. What's even crazier is they get it done without all the weird shit.
  18. Sark says "resiliency" instead of "resilience." At best, "resiliency" is not incorrect. Either way, I wish he'd stop putting the team into positions where they need so much of it.
  19. We'll be facing the best WR corps in the country (by a long shot) against Ohio State. Howard isn't electric, but he's boringly good and if he has time, he will distribute the ball to their stud WRs. We don't match up well against OSU. It will be a hell of a win if we can pull it off.
