  1. OP, I share quite a few of your criteria when it comes to potential retirement places. Of the places you listed, Denver would be my first choice. You might consider Reno. Close to Lake Tahoe and the Sierras. Go in the other direction and you've got the mountains and high desert of Nevada. Tons to explore in every direction. Weather is pretty decent -- sunnier and less snow/rain than Denver. Good-sized airport with flights going to lots of places. And the Nevada tax breaks. Doesn't have the food scene that Denver does, but it isn't terrible. The politics there tend to be more moderate than much of the rest of the state. I've also thought about Albuquerque. Even better weather, somewhat larger than Reno, and a decent airport. Pretty good food and beer scene. But Albuquerque has some pretty sketchy areas and crime can be an issue. You definitely would need to pick the correct neighborhood. Quality of health care would generally be better in either Denver or Reno (or lots of places, frankly). Tucson checks some of your boxes, but it gets really hot in the summer. Not as hot as Phoenix, but pretty damn hot nonetheless. They also apparently have infrastructure issues there from what I've read.
  2. Very well played. The top one is absolute gold.
  3. Tragic. Happened after 3 a.m. with at least one vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and alcohol possibly involved. A sadly familiar refrain.
  4. I never really considered it, but it dawned on me after reading your post that you're absolutely right. They were remarkably similar in how they played characters.
  5. Will be blending this up this weekend to beat the heat.
  6. aggy: Winner of press conferences. Say, that qualifies as a "conference championship," so put it up on the wall!
  7. Doing the Cascades Loop in mid-September. Recs will be appreciated.
  8. The road is back open. Pretty amazing. https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/30/travel/wyoming-detour-teton-pass-collapse/index.html
  9. You might try Angostura 1919. I haven't had it myself, but it's a gold rum from Trinidad & Tobago like 10 Cane was, so maybe it'll be similar. It may be a little pricey for a mixer, but if you really want a gold rum, it's probably one you can find somewhere like TW or Bevmo.
  10. It's another rum kind of night with a couple of old favorites: El Dorado 12 & Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva. P.S. Rum was made for cigars. Or vice versa. I forget which.
  11. Wat? And turn the spigot off on all these aggy tears? Did you fall and hit your head or something?
  12. Putting that up on your stadium wall soon, I'm sure.

  14. Final run total will be going up on the stadium wall in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .
  15. Just ran out of time is all. LOLLOLLOLLOLLOL
  16. All the shots of those two are probably driving the ags nuts. Really hoping they'll ask Schloss about the Texas rumors when they interview him -- that'll drive aggy over the edge.
  17. Nice hit -- too bad he left his brain at the plate along with his bat. And with a runner on 3rd, too. Ay yi yi.
  18. It doesn't matter how many times I see the gomers do their yell practice shit, I always end up rolling my eyes and shaking my head. It's so BAD that the ridiculous nature of it simply can't be tempered by the passage of time or repetition.
  19. Definitely some parallels between AG and Fandango, which I think is a fine film, esp. for a first-time director on a major release.
