  1. I always enjoy seeing trash programs get embarrassed. Grant Union (Sacramento, CA) players and coaches tried to start shit during warmups with Folsom, which is QB'ed by a kid who's a 5* and headed to BYU. Folsom also has a WR who will play at Ole Miss. Why nobody was tossed for the pregame shenanigans is a bit of a mystery to me. #9 for Grant Union is a clown in particular. And, of course, Grant also pulled some dirty shit during the game. It didn't end well for Grant Union -- 51-13. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1399640481097856 There's a pretty good Youtube video about the game as well.
  2. The Kirkland 12YO barrel aged is pretty good for the $, IMO. Wouldn't pay $40 for it (there are better rums at or below that price), but $20? Yes.
  3. Currently as low as $162 on Amazon. Knivesshipfree has the orange mini for $170. Still not cheap, but better than $200.

  5. Watched & enjoyed it.
  6. Many moons ago, I clerked at Roy Minton's firm for two years while going through law school, and I still have a tremendous amount of respect for him & his legacy. His death was a big loss to the legal community in Texas. He got consistently great results by being genuine, insightful as what makes people tick, polite, sharp as a tack, well-prepared, and down-to-earth. I still regard my two years there as the other half of my legal education. His older son, David, was also at the firm at the time, and he's another good guy. I got from David one of my favorite lines to use when someone screws up -- "he just shat in his messkit." David probably got it from his dad. Perry was still in undergrad at the time, but he used to stop by the office occasionally.
  7. Fair point.
  8. Yep, sheer laziness to project aggy to the Texas Bowl . . . aside from the fact that two of their last four bowl appearances were in the [wait for it] . . . Texas Bowl. All kidding aside, the Texas Bowl would be a step up from last year's bowl for aggy, so maybe Graham should put a lid on the manufactured outrage at preseason bowl projections, which mean nothing.
  9. Talk about a close season series -- the Cubs and Pirates played 7 games this season, and six of them involved one-run margins. The only game that didn't was a 3-1 Chicago win. And neither team scored more than 4 runs in any of the seven games.
  10. I especially love the part in which the poster compares one of their backup WRs to Justin Jefferson. Apparently, aggy's wideouts are so good that Justin Jefferson part II can't even break into the starting lineup.
  11. First movie that came to mind when I saw the thread title was The Limey. Lots of other great roles, though. Zod. John Tunstall in Young Guns. Sir Larry Wildman in Wall Street.
  12. "The Kool Aid is coming out of my ears, and I love it." That would be a helluva thread title.
  13. Thanks -- now I know who to blame.

RIP Superlungs. First heard of him via the Cheap Trick cover of Speak Now. Dude was talented, as Jimmy Page (and many others) recognized.
  15. My standard exclamations when some dumbass sits ahead of me in traffic ignoring a green light are: (1) "It doesn't get any greener, jackass!; and (2) this nugget:
  16. 8/4/24: Can't wait to see the sips have to play a murderers' row of an SEC schedule! They'll be lucky to finish above .500! 8/4/25: It ain't fair! Them sips get the easiest schedules!
  17. I saw Nazereth open up for Billy Squier in the early 80's. It was a flaccid concert. Nazereth was touring in support of the 2XS album. What's that you say? You've never heard of that album? Thank you for making my point. Both Nazareth and Squier were pretty lifeless that night. One of the worst concerts I've seen. The tour I would have loved to have seen was the one in support of Hair of the Dog. In addition to the title track and the cover of Love Hurts, I love the song "Miss Misery." How Dan McCafferty didn't shred his vocal cords beyond redemption when he laid down the vocals for that track, I'll never know.
  18. Loved WKRP, & she was terrific as the antithesis of the stereotypical dumb blonde in that show. I personally thought the Bailey character was hotter, but Jennifer was right up there + sharp, too. RIP, Ms. Anderson.
  19. 1:42.27 at age 16 is just ridiculous.
