  1. Agreed. I also think Ikard's opinion is going to change on Oct. 12.
  2. Interesting that Ikard thinks Hill is the worst player in our front 7. I wonder if maybe the only game Ikard studied was the MSU game, which was Hill's worst game of the season by far, IMO. It also won't surprise me if PK unveils some blitz schemes that he was keeping in his hip pocket specifically for this game.
  3. Ah, got it. I stand corrected.
  4. Uh, quite a bit I would imagine. My understanding is that the Braves are in if they split. Did you mean to say the Mets instead? https://www.mlb.com/news/2024-nl-wild-card-race-scenarios
  5. Agreed about the spot, and I basically said the same thing at the time in the game thread.
  6. Actually, only three times. Wisner's knee was clearly down before the ball broke the plane on the first and goal play. But Arch's long run and his first QB sneak both should have been ruled TD's.
  7. Well, except for their last two possessions in today's game. And two kneel-downs in last week's game.
  8. Refs in the GB game continuing to make shitty spots. Maybe they are Big 12 or SEC refs, too?
  9. Talk about a chain reaction . . . Ref gives MN a crap spot on a second down pass play. Should have been ruled first down, instead it's 3rd and 1. KOC makes a really questionable playcall -- Vikes throw some kind of weird seam route well beyond the first down. Darnold gets his receiver hurt by throwing into coverage. The hurt receiver is the #1 punt returner. So after the Vikings' defense forces a GB punt, the guy back to field the punt isn't the #1 returner. It's the backup, who promptly gacks the return by stupidly trying to catch the punt over his head, leading to a GB touchdown.
  10. OMG, Nailor, you idiot
  11. Terrible spot in that MN game. And then a stupid play call by KOC
  12. I liked it as well.
  13. While it's true that MSU hadn't scored many points up to that point (6), neither had Texas. Moreover, the Horns's offense had been very sporadic and, to that point, MSU's energy and fight had exceeded that of the Horns, IMO. The game was still in doubt -- all it would have taken is one freak play and MSU would have been in a position to tie the game. In a game like that, i.e., where you're having trouble sustaining drives and scoring points and the game is still in doubt, you take the 3, you make it a two-score game (which really ratchets up the pressure on MSU to have its inexperienced QBs start passing more), and you build on that momentum. Taking the points off the board was a bad decision. Fortunately, it didn't end up biting Texas, and it was counterbalanced by what I thought was some pretty good playcalling by Sark for much of the game.
  14. I didn't think the offensive play calling was a problem in general. There were calls here and there that you could quibble with. Frankly, his worst decision was to take the 3 off the board.
  15. Well, of course. This is Surly, is it not?
  16. Damn you, came here to post just that.
  17. JFC, spoiler that nastiness
  18. +1, but Bama looked good on that opening drive
  19. I posted that before we scored our last TD. We should be at at least 48 right now. Oh, we'll. Lots of practice teaching points for the coaches to hammer on.
  20. Tackling should be a point of emphasis between now and OU
  21. Keep in mind, we really should have at least 41 points. Blue fumbles on their 20 -- probably cost at least 3, maybe more. Cook drops sure TD. Sark stupidly takes 3 off board
  22. Shitbag MSU player throws punch in front of ref. No flag
  23. That TD is a big fuck you to this ref crew
