  1. Tragic. Happened after 3 a.m. with at least one vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and alcohol possibly involved. A sadly familiar refrain.
  2. I never really considered it, but it dawned on me after reading your post that you're absolutely right. They were remarkably similar in how they played characters.
  3. Will be blending this up this weekend to beat the heat.
  4. aggy: Winner of press conferences. Say, that qualifies as a "conference championship," so put it up on the wall!
  5. Doing the Cascades Loop in mid-September. Recs will be appreciated.
  6. The road is back open. Pretty amazing. https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/30/travel/wyoming-detour-teton-pass-collapse/index.html
  7. You might try Angostura 1919. I haven't had it myself, but it's a gold rum from Trinidad & Tobago like 10 Cane was, so maybe it'll be similar. It may be a little pricey for a mixer, but if you really want a gold rum, it's probably one you can find somewhere like TW or Bevmo.
  8. It's another rum kind of night with a couple of old favorites: El Dorado 12 & Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva. P.S. Rum was made for cigars. Or vice versa. I forget which.
  9. A true original. RIP
  10. Wat? And turn the spigot off on all these aggy tears? Did you fall and hit your head or something?
  11. "colored TVs"? [*thatsracistgif*]
  12. Putting that up on your stadium wall soon, I'm sure.
  13. Aggy: Staying Hungry Since 1939
  14. OK, OK, we get it.
  15. Final run total will be going up on the stadium wall in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .
  16. Just ran out of time is all. LOLLOLLOLLOLLOL
  17. All the shots of those two are probably driving the ags nuts. Really hoping they'll ask Schloss about the Texas rumors when they interview him -- that'll drive aggy over the edge.
  18. Nice hit -- too bad he left his brain at the plate along with his bat. And with a runner on 3rd, too. Ay yi yi.
  19. It doesn't matter how many times I see the gomers do their yell practice shit, I always end up rolling my eyes and shaking my head. It's so BAD that the ridiculous nature of it simply can't be tempered by the passage of time or repetition.
  20. Definitely some parallels between AG and Fandango, which I think is a fine film, esp. for a first-time director on a major release.
  21. Fuck aggy. That is all.
  22. Michigan Lawmaker Says Arrest Involving Gun and Adult Dancer Was Second Amendment Advocacy https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2024/06/neil-friske-arrest-michigan-representative-gun-adult-dancer-stripper.html
  23. One of the interesting things about American Graffiti for me is that even though it was set in a year only 11 years before it was released (1962 vs. 1973), American culture had changed so much in that time span that the vibe of the movie was nostalgic even though it was set only about 10 years prior. If you made a movie today set in 2013, it wouldn't seem too different. But so much radical stuff occurred between 1962 and 1973 (e.g., the Vietnam War, the drug culture proliferation, the British Invasion, etc.) that 1962 seemed a long time ago even when AG was first released and it was nostalgic. Not only was AG a tribute to the car culture and "hangout" days, it was also about coming of age and the impending loss of innocence.
  24. Gotta love the ag crowing about A&M coaches rarely leaving for a bigger/better program. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact that by the time coaches are done crapping the bed at A&M, no program worth a damn wants to have anything to do with them.
