  1. And he hit those numbers despite losing the better part of two seasons to serving in the military in the years immediately after winning ROY. Imagine what his career numbers would have been if he had played those two seasons in full. (Similar observations could be made about Ted Williams, Stan Musial, and others.)
  2. If you're talking about the ability to do it all and do everything at an elite level, then the name Willie Mays is at or very close to the top. On top of that was his infectious enthusiasm and his love for the game.
  3. Yes, I probably underestimated the extent of aggy delusion.
  4. Was thinking the douchey aggy could've been another customer, but then realized it makes far more sense & is commensurate with the worth of an A&M degree that he would be an airport bartender as you indicated.
  5. Probably best that you stay up in Alaska with that kind of attitude, mister.
  6. If there was some way to harness the energy that powers aggy delusion, it would create enough electricity to completely light up Las Vegas year-round. Science needs to get on that.
  7. They're aggies.
  8. Highly-regarded movies I've either never seen at all or haven't seen in their entirety: Casablanca [I can sense Gandorf rolling his eyes and gritting his teeth] It's a Wonderful Life Citizen Kane Seven Samurai Lawrence of Arabia On the Waterfront Singin' In the Rain Sunset Blvd. Some Like It Hot Rebel Without A Cause Network The Grapes of Wrath Shane 2001: A Space Odyssey Giant Mr. Smith Goes to Washington Ben-Hur Avatar Reds Atonement Any/all of the Matrix movies Annie Hall (I think I've seen precisely one Woody Allen movie all the way through) The Piano Pride & Prejudice Mulholland Drive Damn. I guess I have some movies to watch. Highly regarded movies that I've seen but did not care for: North by Northwest Moonlight Crash Blair Witch Project Tar
  9. And not a single one of those guys would be welcome at a typical aggy gathering.
  10. Yeah, Texas was probably not even in the top 5 teams that season, as evidenced by the results on the field.
  11. Gotta love the effort and it *is* funny, but I cannot let slide the reference to making "assess" of themselves. That quality LSU "edumacation" comes shining through . . .
  12. For anyone doubting that the extent of aggy delusion and rationalization has any limit whatsoever . . .
  13. Not quite, because I don't hate the Doors and I like The Who. Oh, and the Cardinals can suck it. Aside from that, we can be friends.
  14. At least a few ag posters over on SECRant are blaming the owner of a bar near the stadium that supposedly served those two clowns jello shots during the rain delay, thereby getting them so liquored up that they went off the rails. Yeah, that's it! It's the bar owner's fault! He held a gun to their head and made them take all those jello shots!
  15. Nope to pretty much anything considered "prog rock," so that means the channel gets changed when I start hearing Jethro Tull, Emerson Lake & Palmer, a lot of Yes' catalog, King Crimson, etc. Never got into the Dead (well, Terrepin Station isn't bad), Phish, etc. Did see one Dead show. I'm glad I went just to experience it, but I've never felt the need to see another one. Get thee behind me, hair metal bands (Poison, Ratt, Cinderella, etc.). Same goes for Bon Jovi and Def Leppard. Oh, and except for a couple of their earlier songs, Aerosmith sucks. Mostly I can't stand Steven Tyler.
  16. I'm surprised I'm not on that list. I'm hugely influential. Just ask me.
  17. Or stupid. Or both.
  18. According to aggy, Ewers wanted to go to every school in Texas except UT.
  19. Yeah, this is basically where I'm at. I'm pointing my finger at Congress on the bump stock issue rather than at the Supremes.
  20. Nowell. I have friends in SD who are big Stick Figure fans. Same kinda vibe as Sublime. The kid looks like he's a good front man.
  21. I fly in and out of Burbank quite a bit, where they deplane front and rear. It's great and it spoils you. Makes it frustrating at other airports with front deplaning only.
  22. This article has some good photos and videos relating to the Teton Pass road collapse. Article says Wyoming is scrambling to try to create a detour route, because the road collapse could have a catastrophic impact on tourism in and around Jackson. https://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/environment/teton-pass-collapse-photos/
  23. The wife and I drove down there after returning from the hike to the green sand beach. It was pretty late in the day, so we were at Punualu'u for only about 30 minutes before we had to leave to drive back to the condo. But there were two turtles on the sand. That was pretty cool.
