  1. LOL. I won a copy of Black Bear Road (the album that contained the song "Convoy") by C.W. McCall when I was a kid -- and come to think of it that might have been my first album. It was either that or a Three Dog Night Greatest Hits album I bought because of late night television commercial. Good times. Cassette? I do not recall. But if Cheap Trick's At Budokan wasn't my first cassette, it was close. Compact disc -- Communique by Dire Straits Download -- I have no idea. It's interesting that I have at least partial recollections of my first LP, cassette and CD, but none whatsoever of my first download. And I'm sure it's at least in part because buying and listening to an LP (or a cassette, or a CD) was always more than just about hearing the music. You were also checking out the artwork, reading the liner notes, looking at the songlist, learning who played the instruments on the songs, discovering who wrote the songs, etc., etc. With downloads, click a mouse and two seconds later you have music but not much else. It's not the same experience.
  2. "As a team, we've decided to be whiny bitches about the fact that we think we got screwed out of the CFP."
  3. I suspect that's an error. He certainly didn't start at center in that game. I went back and watched the first offensive play of that game (the Wingo 75 yard catch-and-run), and it was Robertson at center.
  4. That would, IMO, only exacerbate the bowl oversaturation issue, which is already a problem.
  5. Well, you're in luck then. Be sure to tune into the Cricket Celebration Bowl and the Bucked Up LA Bowl, because both of those games are being played next weekend. I'm sure dozens will be enthralled.
  6. Which bowls are you talking about? There are already bowls that get played starting next weekend, and nobody fucking watches them except fans of the shitty teams that are playing in those games. And you want to see bowls starting even earlier in the month, i.e., the first weekend in December?
  7. I don't disagree that the college football landscape is in a state of upheaval (thanks in part to the current moronic committee), but declining the opportunity to get extra practices, see how young players react to game situations, acclimate new coaches into systems, etc., etc., is both shortsighted and weak, IMO. As far as timing goes, I doubt many people want to see bowl games happening in the first week of December.
  8. The bitchassedness pandemic is real.
  9. ? I think you're saying that declining a bowl game means you won't get extra practices, which would be beneficial. Amirite? If so, I agree.
  10. FUCK THAT.
  11. I like this idea.
  12. Cool. You shouldn't watch. But you will.

  15. Has aggy put this conference championship on their stadium wall yet?
  16. RIP Elden Campbell. Way too young.
  17. Frankly, I think Notre Dame being ranked ahead of both Miami and Texas is a bigger head-scratcher. Notre Dame lost to Miami and played a schedule that, outside of the first two games, was ridiculously easy. For chrissakes, Stanford is the 4th best win on Notre Dame's resume. Think about that for a moment and then puke at the thought of Notre Dame being in the CFP.
  18. You're winning in that scenario, sir. 1941 cracks me up.
  19. Either you're trolling or this is the dumbest thing you've ever posted (which is really saying something).
