  1. The best driving song ever is Skynyrd's cover of J.J. Cale's "Call Me The Breeze," and anyone who disagrees is not only wrong but deserves every single bad thing that could possibly happen to them.
  2. For all I know, that customer did or said something prior to the video commencing which legitimately called for her expulsion from the store. With that said, I hate UPS with a passion based on numerous problems with its service and its employees in past years, so UPS can generally go fuck itself. And the UPS employee in that video went from sounding reasonable to sounding unhinged in record time.
  3. Freebie and the Bean! Haven't seen that movie in a million years. RIP, Mr. Arkin. You were good.
  4. I don't think I have to respect it as much as I have to ridicule it.

  6. I can't find Fortaleza Reposado for anything less than $175 out here, which is criminal because I think it lists for something like $60. Everybody is out of it as well as the blanco still strength. So that price in Amsterdam is well under market so far as I know.
  7. This clip abruptly cuts off at the end, which sucks, but you get the drift . . .
  8. Will be up in the Santa Cruz Mountains area of CA later this summer. Looking for recs on wineries to visit. I don't think I've had any wine from that AVA aside from a bottle or two from Ridge's Monte Bello vineyards, so I'm pretty clueless. Have heard/read some good things about Thomas Fogarty and Sante Arcangeli, but other than that I'm starting from scratch. Any recs? I'll take restaurant suggestions as well. TIA
  9. You're assuming a&m will look at the situation logically. Hell will freeze over before that happens.
  10. I wouldn't call him a great pianist by any stretch, but it brings a different feel to the show which I find enjoyable.
  11. I know whereof you speak. My son is on the spectrum.
  12. Teach toddler to cover his/her own ears. Also works as an "earmuffs" maneuver when urge to curse is overwhelming.
  13. Kinda crazy that the Cubs have two of the top 3 ERA leaders in the NL (Steele slipped to #3 since your post), and are nonetheless in 4th place in their division. And that's in the shitty NL Central, for chrissakes. And when was the last time you saw a division that had only one team with a positive run differential . . . and that team was in 4th place? I'm not sure if that says more about the ineptitude of the NL Central or the Jekyll-and-Hyde nature of the Cubs. Maybe both.
  14. I tried broiling the japs once, and it honestly didn't make a huge difference to me. Maybe I needed to broil them longer than I did. If you can't get Tacodeli salsa dona but live near a Trader Joe's, TJ's has a jarred Jalapeno sauce that is similar and good, but this homemade version beats it, IMO.
  15. I picked up a jalapeno sauce (it's not really a salsa) recipe off Surly a few years ago. I can't recall offhand which poster shared it, but whoever it was I tip my hat to him. I've made it a bunch of times. It's good and incredibly easy. 6 jalapenos (I sometimes substitute a habanero for one of the japs to kick up the heat, but I like it spicy)3 cloves garlic1/4 cup olive oilHandful of cilantro1 tsp kosher salt (original recipe called for a half teaspoon)Boil peppers and peeled garlic for 20 minutesThen take and put them in ice water to cool off.Once cool, cut stems off peppers and put them, garlic cloves, oil , cilantro (stems and leaves), and salt in blender.Liquefy.
