  1. Betcha Shipley is heaving a huge sigh of relief that Texas won.
  2. I know PK brought extra pass rushers on a higher percentage of plays than he did in the second and third quarters. He blitzed a couple times really early in the game, but then went away from it for the most part until late in the game. Not sure why. It was as though he was calling the same defense that he threw at Pavia last season, i.e., rush lane integrity, drop 7 or 8, keep him contained in the pocket, don't let him beat you with his legs. And while Shapen can certainly run if needed, he was carving us up on intermediate routes because we could not move him off his spot and gave him a lot of time to throw during the first three quarters or so. I do not understand what PK's thinking was, but he moved away from what wasn't working and started sending extra rushers at Shapen in the 4th quarter and OT, and it's a good thing he did.
  3. HELL YEAH!! Well done, Matthew Caldwell! I hope Arch is okay. There was a ton to dislike about this game, but one thing that cannot be questioned is that this team will battle regardless of the score. (Can't say the same for some of the posters here.)
  4. Not with our offense. LOL
  5. Man, now I REALLY wish Shipley had made that chipshot earlier.
  6. Wingo is so feast or famine.
  7. We're seeing what it's like when at least two, if not all three, of the phases of the game are bad on this team.
  8. That missed chip-shot FG is looming large now.
  9. Yeah, he's fucking shitty today too.
  10. Yeah, a bunch of talented 4 and 5* players who are playing like shit today.
  11. I agree the offense is doing the defense no favors (as usual this season). But the schematic breakdowns and failure to adjust to what MSU is doing on offense are pretty glaring this game.
  12. 24 fucking unanswered points so far.
  13. This is PK's worst game in a long time. He's getting outschemed consistently. You give up a 3rd and 13 on a swing pass out of the fucking backfield?!?! Are you fucking kidding me? And then just allow them to march down the fucking field for another TD. That's 31 points on the defense today through three quarters. Yes, I know they miss Taafe, but that doesn't account for all the shittiness we're seeing from this defense today.
  14. An awesome 23 yard net on the punt.
  15. Suck fucking ineptitude -- coaches and players this game. Jordan Washington with the fucking ole' in pass protection.
  16. No fucking pass rush the entire game. PK doing nothing to scheme pressure on Shapen. Simmons, Burke, Spence, Jackson all AWOL
  17. Fuck these asshole refs. Obvious/blatant facemask on Niblett WITH THE REF STANDING RIGHT THERE and he does fucking nothing.
  18. Helluva time to miss a chipshot, Shipley.
  19. Nikka from the Barrel is the first Japanese whiskey I ever tried. Good balance of smoke vs. grassy/floral. I like it on an occasional basis, but I'm kind of the opposite of you, i.e., I prefer the usual taste profiles of bourbons and ryes over scotch, Irish whiskey, etc.
  20. Then I must have seen a significant percentage of the "vanishingly small" number of those incidents. I also suspect that those stats didn't include instances in which the pitcher who issued the IBB then had trouble finding the strike zone against the next hitter or two because it would be difficult to actually prove a connection between the two. But having seen it happen more than once, I'm pretty confident that there was something about having to throw 4 lollipops well off the plate that occasionally had an effect on the pitcher's ability to then hone back in on the strike zone with actual pitches against the next hitter. For me, the current rule doesn't speed the game up that much (certainly not like the pitch clock does) because the old IBB didn't take that much time. But I don't harbor much (well, any, really) hope that they'll change the rule back. Just me shaking my fist at clouds at this point.
  21. I don't recall that line in the movie
  22. That's great. I forgot that I've also seen a wild pitch or two on occasions when pitchers were attempting to intentionally walk a batter. There are all sorts of ways that making 'em actually throw the pitches can affect the game. I realize they changed the rule to speed up the game, but the old IBBs didn't take that much time. They should go back to the way it used to be done.
