  1. So is this Willson flipping the bird to Hoyer? Or just taking the best offer that was out there? https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/35204413/source-cardinals-willson-contreras-reach-5-year-875m-deal I appreciate all you did in Chicago, Willy, but . . .
  2. Any loss sucks, but to blow it like that at the end of reg was a kick to the nutsack.
  3. Gonna get it on in the afterlife now. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/mills-lane-an-international-boxing-hall-of-fame-referee-dies-at-85-185044746.html
  4. I can respect Duggan as a very good college QB without wanting him to win the award that is ostensibly supposed to go to the best player in all of college football. That's because Duggan most certainly is NOT the best player . . . or even the best QB. He's good, but he's not *that* good. Stop holding back and tell us how you really feel.
  5. One of the weakest groups of Heisman finalists ever.
  6. My dad had a Cutlass Supreme (circa the 76-78 period) that he had special ordered from the factory, and that thing had a ton of problems. In the 80's, I learned how to drive on a hand-me-down 1977 Toyota Corolla with a manual transmission. I think there were lawn mowers with bigger engines than that car. And the undercarriage rusted through. Toward the end of its life, if you pulled up the floor mats, you'd see daylight.
  7. Yeah, the program is on the exact same trajectory as evidenced by the tenor of message board threads. When did you have the lobotomy?
  8. Lulz. You latch on to one poster's probably-drunken tirade and ascribe it to an entire "fanbase." At least be honest.
  9. You seem obsessed with Sark. It's time for you to get over being butthurt that he dumped UW to jump to USC. It was a long time ago.
  10. I've seen two betting lines so far -- one had Texas -3.5 and the other was -4.5. Those numbers will likely change depending on whether Bijan and others opt out.
  11. I was there. That 4th quarter was glorious. Yelled myself hoarse.
  12. Seems we've had some stealth visitors from the Pacific NW. https://hardcorehusky.com/discussion/102560/dialed-in FWIW, he's already told at least one media outlet that he intends to play.
  13. The guy that Martinez had beaten out for the starting job coming into the season?
  14. Even the K-State team that Texas beat in Manhattan? Hokay . . .
  15. That will piss me off if it happens. I have no love for TCU, but Bama in no way deserves to be in the CFP. They lost twice and the only reason they don't have a third loss on their record (Texas) is because of the fucking refs. Every neutral observer who I saw comment on that game felt that Texas outplayed Alabama.
  16. Check the replay -- there was no way the ball was going to cross the LOS, whether in play or not. It wasn't close at all. Notably, the line judge didn't even fucking look at the ball as it traveled OOB to even attempt to make a determination on whether it would have crossed the LOS before being caught. And isn't it convenient that it was a person on the Baylor sideline who caught the ball in the air before it could hit the ground? But putting that aside, the trajectory of the ball in comparison to the LOS clearly shows that it was not going to get to the LOS unless it did something completely at odds with the laws of physics.
  17. I am advised the Bronco is built and expected to be at the dealer between Dec. 13 and 21. Which means it'll be sometime next year.
  18. What kills me about this play is that immediately after it, Mar says no IG because the QB was out of the pocket and threw the ball beyond the LOS. Excuse me?!?! The fucking line judge is standing right there at the LOS and the pass went OOB one yard to his right, i.e., 1 yard BEHIND the LOS. I won't argue that Shapen wasn't outside the tackle box, but he damn sure didn't throw the ball beyond the LOS. So because there was no eligible receiver in the area and the ball didn't make it past the LOS, that was absolutely IG. The fact that the fucking ref was standing right there and didn't do a damn thing -- didn't correct Mar or raise any issue about the pass not going beyond the LOS -- is complete asshattery. Between this play, Mar's claim that the forward pass call was reviewed (when he didn't go anywhere near the replay camera on the sideline after the play was completed), and the fact that this crew called a grand total of 1 measly penalty against UT's opponents in the 8 quarters of Texas football refereed by that crew, I am completely confident in labeling Mar and his crew CORRUPT. Not just bad. Not merely incompetent. CORRUPT.
  19. Quasar televisions Falstaff beer Pier 1
  20. Beating Oregon won't wash away the disgrace of getting pummeled by Arky in '14. That's Texas' last bowl loss.
  21. Veteran's Day and re-watching portions of Band of Brothers and The Pacific set me off reading this one. So far it's okay, but I'm only about 75 pages in. The heavy shit has yet to occur.
  22. I enjoyed it, but I'm a big Cheap Trick fan. Can't really envision casual readers being interested in the minutiae about the band's early days.
