  1. Sure, but you understand that just being under investigation can cause someone to expend a significant amount of resources.
  2. Read about Andy McCabe. Read about how Barr fucked around with Cohen when he wouldn’t agree to not write a book. Here is something from today. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/ar-AA1u4Jzh
  3. Pilgrim’s Pride chicken ranches in East Texas will go out of business.
  4. I don’t really have the inclination to think it through. But, I’ve seen some things up close in my time and a motivated prosecutor has a lot of power. Kind of like when they go after someone for something and they turn over every rock and find some transaction and label it tax fraud even though it had nothing to do with why they were looking at them in the first place. Sometimes I wish people really understood what goes on in the justice system. You probably think judges are impartial too, right?
  5. They don’t have to be able to convict. They just have to make you spend all of your life savings defending against the charges. It does not take much to get an indictment. You will free yourself from it but it will definitely suck your resources.
  6. Trump is using recess appointments for his entire cabinet. There won’t be any confirmations according to what I’m reading.
  7. How about a primer on how that works for the uninitiated?
  8. Only the truly stupid doubted it.
  9. Yeah, I’d like to know about this too.
  10. He just wants to be there to help usher in the end times. I’m not joking.
  11. Interestingly, I got a “What’s in store from Trump 2.0” from JPM today and it was less than optimistic. Said that as big of a disaster as tariffs will be, mass deportations will damage the economy more. Interesting that Berkshire has moved to a majority cash position.
  12. Sight unseen I’d say you have a keeper.
  13. Ok, so they did a really good job of tamping down the crazy voter turnout of 2020, they do everything they can to undermine the public school system, jam down vouchers to get money to Christian schools, weaken curriculum in schools, drive teachers out of the profession, go nutty with the abortion law and then when they are asked to clarify it for the health of the mother, they say no. They also are inactive on things like public health, don’t take part in Medicare expansion, and generally give the middle finger to anyone who is even remotely for action on climate. They are failing to address the coming problem with our water supply and are contributing to our skyrocketing insurance rates. In the name of freedom, they let people walk around with firearms without even as much as a basic proficiency test, but yet can’t ever seem to find the funds to get rape kits tested. They also spend a god awful amount of tax dollars on militarization of the border and start building their own wall while denying teachers raises. They allow about three West Texas billionaires dictate laws, lawsuits filed by the state, prosecutions and when someone stands up to them they crush them at election time. Oh, and by the way, the three billionaires openly admit to wanting to make Texas a Christian Nationalist state. They maintain a power grid for only Texas pride purposes but can’t seem to pull their head out of their ass to fix it. But then, they offer tax incentives to crypto outfits who come in and account for 30% of our electrical use on any given day. I mean, what’s the end game here?
  14. Bottom Line: Quinn with no pressure: All American Quinn with pressure: Scourge of Surly
  15. I thought aggy told me LSU was a quality win.
  16. I thought I was communicating that Threads sucking was no reason to stay on twitter.
  17. I got off because it made me more upset, stressed, disgusted and dumber than just laying on the couch watching the ceiling fan.
  18. Yeah, you’ve lost me because your response was actually the point I was making. Geez, has everyone just gone stupid?
  19. I don’t disagree with anything except your premise that the D agenda was rejected. There was some poll out in the last days of the election that strongly supported the idea that Harris’ policy points were significantly more popular that Trumps. But, a large portion of the polled people had no idea that they were hers and a lot actually thought they were Trumps. I agree that the DNC is inept. I agree that people like Schumer need to go. I’ve gotten several texts from organizations I have donated to in the past asking for money to “fight” Trump’s agenda. I responded to one just to make myself feel better by saying “Not until y'all can pull your head out of your ass”. I know no one read it but it made me feel better.
  20. If you look at GOP ad spending this cycle it is probably just that all those people hate trans folks and are worried about a 200 lb former man playing against their daughters high school volleyball team.
  21. I’m on day 2 after deleting my Twitter and not watching the news. Going to spend that time trying to get better on the guitar.
  22. I blame Biden for that. He should have cut the power in Moscow via cyber after the first one. I don’t understand why people don’t stop for a second and think about why Russia would have an interest in suppressing the vote in heavily D areas?
  23. Oh good, we get to pretend we are good. Yay!
  24. For me, I don’t think the fence can be mended. My anger comes not from policy but how I can’t understand why people are so willingly able to turn over their future to a guy who has none of the character traits that I thought we valued as a country. The idea that anyone can be President is the offshoot of this craziness that “I’m not going to believe scientists and do my own research” type crap. We have a problem valuing expertise and we are about to experience the impact of that. It is true that I don’t agree with GOP policies in general, but I can set that aside. May main problem with my fellow Americans is that while they are willing to take a chance on their future with Trump, I am not. I cannot understand how anyone would feel like he was in this to improve their lives. Even in my own life, I find that the Trump supporters are typically very low information voters and either have the wrong information or none at all. We are going to experience some things over the next four years. I’m taking the Red Hat approach that I am going protect me and mine and I can’t worry about anything else because I am powerless to change it. I’m super resentful that this is where things are. Trump and the people that will surround him are not good people. They are there for power and grift. How people don’t care more about that is beyond me. I can’t forgive it. We have the greatest country and economy in the world and to take a chance like this is reckless and irresponsible. After all, 40% of NC voted for the nazi porn guy. WTF is wrong with us?
