  1. All of the WH reporters have tried to follow the rule of journalism in not making the story about themselves. That's why they have to stifle their natural reactions to his answers, such as not literally laughing out loud, or screaming "bullshit." Alcindor, Acosta, Jiang, all of them...well...maybe with one possible exception.
  2. I always wondered why it's referred to in that manner. We don't call Austin High "Austin Stephen F. Austin."
  3. I don't see that happening. Pence was like the 99th choice, and only accepted to further his career. He could not have seen this coming. I don't see him throwing himself on a grenade after Trump has no power. He'll be one of the last rats off a sinking ship. Ford, on the other hand, knew the writing was on the wall with Nixon when he accepted the VP appointment. He took the appointment only out of a sense of loyalty to country. I truly believe that he pardoned Nixon to allow the country to heal, knowing full well that it was probably gonna cost him the next election. You know, a man of principle and all that.
  4. Yeah and if after all this settles and we get into forgiveness audits and the SBA turns into hardasses on that...well they're getting a sternly worded letter from me. I'm really hoping they are as loose coming out as they are going in.
  5. Interesting. Park MGM is (was?) dog friendly.
  6. Some gov needs to call Trump out on his notion that he is responsible for sending in the national guard. The state gov calls in the national guard, not the president.
  7. I've closely watched about 10 hours of coverage of the protests/looting/whatever in the past 48 hours. Not once have I seen a flag burning.
  8. There are pool shops and pond shops. Pond shops are better for surlies.
  9. One question for which I can't find the answer, does interest kick in on day 1 or after 12 months? We have done what you say, stashed the $$$ in a money market fund earning 1.3% right now, so the net interest rate is ~2.5%. Must resist temptation to play the market with those funds. Appears to be allowable.
  10. I suppose if you're debt free and have credit facilities that allow you to tap a $150k or greater line, at less than 3.75%, it could be unattractive. I believe the language excludes the use of the funds to buy a building.
  11. Third party sellers are running a scam where they generate a shipping label as soon as you order, even though they don't have the items in stock, and probably don't have any idea when it will be in stock. That way they can bill you, claiming the order shipped. Then it has to be delayed well beyond the originally estimated ship date before you can get a refund. All the while holding onto your $$$ and earning 20%.
  12. LATAM just declared chapter 11. That ought to make flying to/from S. America a lot more challenging.
  13. I knew the guy who got killed at Gatti’s on MLK back in the 80’s... yeah I’m old. He worked there part time and some dumbass kid went in to rob the place at closing ended up killing him IIRC. We lived in the same dorm and had the same taste in music. He had a bunch of albums which he was totally cool about recording cassettes for me. Couple years after, I was playing one of the tapes back home and told my buddy ‘yeah the guy who made me this tape was killed.’ At that very second, the tape skipped. It had never skipped before or after. The song? Dirty Deeds by AC/DC.
  14. I've noticed the same, even in the 2006 champ game. There are several hits from both sides that would be penalties if not ejections today.
  15. https://www.venetian.com/offers/share-the-love/get-love-offer.html Venetian offering free night to essential workers. The list of qualified essential workers is quite extensive. I bet they don't vet guests very hard on that. They just want people in the casino, restaurants and shops. https://www.venetian.com/offers/share-the-love/essential-community-heroes.html
  16. 13k+ posts and THIS is what it took for you to figure out you're hanging with the right crowd???
  17. Just to close this out, asked for the full $150k on 5/14. Got email on 5/17 late at night saying it had been approved. Docusigned the app on 5/18 first thing in the am. Got $149,900 in the bank account today 5/19. Don't recall seeing anything about a $100 fee and really not going to try too hard to figure that out.
  18. That's basically what we're doing. I don't see why the pay periods have to line up with the expenditure of the funds. In the end, I think all you have to do is say "I spent $x on payroll, and here's when."
  19. Took a quick look and didn't see any gotchas. Anyone see anything unexpected?
  20. I only see gray, light gray and dark gray.
  21. Got the EIDL email earlier today, seemed too easy and too good to be true. Slider maxed at $150k, answered a couple questions and done. Has anyone been denied after reaching this point?
