  1. The very first problem is making potato salad with mayonnaise instead of mustard
  2. The 2020 primary was a bloodbath of way too many qualified candidates who ate each other up. Thats actually why Biden was a good candidate to take the ticket in 2020, nobody could agree on any of the multiple good candidates to choose from, so they rallied around the only one everyone *could* agree with. But that doesn't mean Harris was ever a bad choice or one people didn't want, just that there was a glut of other options to distract from. Which is actually why this transition has gone way smoother than the 2020 primaries: it's the exact opposite situation. She's always been "good enough,"it's just that this is the circumstance where she wins. She's never been terrible. "She's a cop" was especially contentious in 2020 because of George Floyd and the way Trump was militarizing cops. But it's entirely different in this election, "she's a cop" is a benefit because she's going up a goddamn felon.
  3. "Texags" and "adults" aren't mutually exclusive. Example: "Texags is full of adults who are sexually attracted to children."
  4. Nobody gives a shit what you think. And calling you a bitch doesn't mean we're offended, it means you're a bitch.
  5. Sounds to me like you're an oversensitive bitch who gets offended by fucking everything and everybody
  6. Look, his problem being that's she's an uppity, big-lipped, thug has absolutely nothing to do with race, buddy.
  7. Thing about voting for Kamala in this election is, even if she's not what you want exactly, you know that going with her ensures you get another vote down the line. The democrats have demonstrated objectively that they believe in succession of power. A big fear of Trump is that electing him might be the last real election in american history if his project 2025 goes through. It's either live to fight another day, or lose forever. I think a lot of people can see that and are more willing to vote for the option that keeps future options open.
  8. His game winning TD against Nebraska in 98 is one of the best plays in Texas history and it was all Applewhite. Ricky rightfully gets a lot of love for that game, but Applewhite improvised the game winner on an all-time play: 1 hour 22minutes 50 seconds in. That mushmouth call, "Rolling... diving... TD Texas!" is so great. Applewhite got crushed and took an enormous hit on that play, but stood tall and made the throw. You can see him injured on the field celebrating after the TD. What a badass.
  9. Simms gets Texas into a huge hole vs Colorado in the Big XII championship game. Eventually gets hurt in the game right before half time with Texas basically out of the contest. Applewhite comes in and immediately throws a bomb TD, then goads the Colorado bench: He gets Texas within a field goal but Colorado scores late and squashes the improable comeback. People immediately call for Applewhite to start in the Holiday bowl after, which he gets the nod over Simms cause Simms is still injured. Again Texas finds itself in a hole late in the game, down 16 with less than a quarter to go. Applewhite goes nuclear and gives Texas the lead for the first time on the day with a few minutes to go. Washington marches down the field with a 70 yard drive and regains the lead with roughly 1 minute to go. Applewhite comes in and moves Texas down the field on big passing plays, with Texas scoring the go-ahead TD on 3rd and goal with 43 seconds left. Applewhite walks to the end of the Texas sideline by himself and weeps on the field as that was his final play as a Longhorn, going out a come-from-behind winner.
  10. She's got the nomination secured. What an impressive start to her campaign, she basically lost no ground in the transition immediately.
  11. In the time it took me to write my last post, she gained the 200-ish needed delegates to secure the nomination. What a fucking beast. Holy shit.
  12. Harris has 1774 of 1915 needed delegates pledged to her already, and will probably pass the threshold for nomination tonight. The other main worry about Joe Biden dropping out, besides whether the party could coalise behind a new candidate quickly and not draw it out for months, was whether or not they'd have access to his coffers, as starting from scratch to regain the roughly $240 million Biden had put away in all his coffers would take too much time. Except Harris raised a quarter of a billion dollars in 24 hours and will likely have access to the existing $93 million in the Biden/Harris fund. So for the last 24 hours or so, she's basically been crushing expectations in the most important segments and is performing at an all-time level. What a fucking jolt.
  13. 1661 Delegates pledged so far. Wasn't the worry that it'd take months for Harris to wrangle the party?
  14. This will be fucking fantastic if she can get the required number of pledged delegates within a day of Biden stepping down. It'll show real unity in the party and the entire event will be moved past, and all that will remain is the energized momentum. This bodes so well for confidence, let's get this fucking doooone!
  15. I haven't felt this fired up about this election til now. Kamala is absolutely a jolt of energy to the democrats. For the first time in months this feels like actual momentum. LFG!!!!
