  1. Probably for the best that Melania didn't speak. She would've just pirated Michelle's speech again.
  2. Trump will not go on a debate where the network will fact check him. In the Biden debate, he was allowed to spew all kinds of bullshit and was not called out for it. We saw how that turned out with Biden getting the bad reviews from that debate while nothing came of Trump's bullshit lies. I imagine that's why he wants to debate on Fox because they will not fact check his bullshit. There's no way his team allows him to debate a prosecutor whose is well versed in debating while getting called out for this bullshit by the moderator. His team has to want him to lose to allow it.
  3. Supposedly in follow up messages, Angry Staffer said it was supposed to be Beyonce, but it didn't work out.
  4. Jordan finally to have surgery on his wrist.

  9. They really think their base is beyond stupid. They are right; otherwise, they wouldn't utter complete bullshit.
  10. The RNC had Hulk fucking Hogan speak on the last night. That's who they thought would resonate with their party--a washed up, roided, fake tough guy, performer who reeks of toxic masculinity to inspire stupid jocks who grew up into magats. That says all you need to know about the base. A dipshit speaking to his peers.
  11. SIAP. Serious FUCK YOU if you are voting for this Piece of Shit who tried to overthrow democracy. New Ad coming to a TV near you. I love that no punches are being pulled now and that he's correctly portrayed as the absolute piece of shit that he is.
  12. Per reddit, supposedly ABIA around Delta terminals are w/o power.
  13. Apropos this thread. After the Icepocalypse shit show and the repeated calls for conservation over the last couple of years, it seems like the energy sector and the state leadership got their shit together about maintaining a healthy grid. We prob will still get the occasion conservation warning during the early spring when facilities are offline for maintenance and we get a couple of 90 degree days which is going to stress supply, but at least summers look to be mostly solved. https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/texas-power-grid-holding-record-demand-thanks-to-renewables-and-battery-storage/269-278934aa-e7a8-4af1-bc6c-a319ec604139 In June, CEO Pablo Vegas predicted a 12% chance of blackouts in August, but that hasn't happened. During a board meeting in Austin on Tuesday, Vegas and other officials credited new energy sources that have been brought online as to why it hasn't happened. Most of these new energy sources have been solar, wind and battery storage. “Battery storage is really very important as the sun goes down," University of Houston Energy Fellow Ed Hirs said. "Then we need batteries to pick up because ... Everyone gets home, turns on their air conditioners. They want to be cool at night.” Hirs added that natural gas, nuclear and coal-fired power plants are strained and that Texas can't do it without the solar and wind kicking in. Meanwhile, ERCOT's board spent most of Tuesday's meeting talking about the next steps after three aging gas-fired units near San Antonio will close in March 2025. Unlike during August 2023, ERCOT has not issued any calls for conservation this summer.
  14. This is what I'm talking about. Governments, utilities, and builders should be working together to design and build better systems to get the most use from of water. De-salinization is expensive and currently inefficient. Maybe de-salinization doesn't have to meet potable standards but can meet standards for watering and toilets. Deliver potable water to taps, then work with builders to build systems to deliver and re-use non-potable and grey water. Fuck anything is better than what we have today, which is the one offs here and there by homeowners coming up with and paying for their own solutions. Need is the mother of innovation but motherfucker, we needs now.
  15. Well yea...that too unfortunately.
  16. https://www.ercot.com/gridmktinfo/dashboards No threats of collapse. The grid is performing quite well. Solar is kicking ass.
  17. It makes no got damned sense to be flushing drinking water. Amazing that with the water issues most of the world is facing, utilities and builders haven't come up with a commercially, efficiently ubiquitous way differentiate usage of potable vs non-potable water.
  18. Mofo may not even be starting then, even if not injured. That offense and their Oline is not suited for him.
  19. I'm sure it would be very easy to reshaft.
