  1. He's returning to the US, except headless. https://russiavsworld.org/russell-bentley-texan-pro-putin-fighter-and-russian-propagandist-found-decapitated-in-russian-controlled-donetsk/ Texan Russell Bentley was found decapitated in Petrovskiy district of Donetsk (temporary occupied territory of Ukraine) at 10 AM, 14 April 2024. Beside his beheaded corpse were found Bentley’s passport with registration in Donetsk, Makarov pistol, credit cards and his wallet. He used to fight for the pro-Russian militia battalion “Vostok”. Russell Bentley went missing on 8 April 2024. Russell Bentley, 63, who is married to a Russian woman and has a passport from his adopted country, disappeared after an attack by Defense Force of Ukraine, according to reports. He was last seen in Donetsk on 8 April before moving in an ‘unknown direction’, and his current location is unknown. Bentley has posted that he was ‘heading west with the “Liberators of Ukraine”. We may stop in Kiev, we may stop on the English Channel. We may liberate the USA.’ In 1999 he escaped from a minimum security US facility where he was being held for drug trafficking. I didn’t have to dig a tunnel or take anybody hostage. But I did escape from prison’, Bentley said. He was later captured and put in a high security facility to finish his sentence. He became a fighter for pro-Putin forces in 2014 after breaking up with his yoga-instructor girlfriend, though he spoke almost no Russian. He called himself the information warrior and had worked for a media outlet affiliated with Sputnik, a Russian state media outlet.
  2. More good news. https://hsc.unm.edu/news/2024/04/microplastics-in-organs.html Microplastics Make Their Way from the Gut to Other Organs, UNM Researchers Find In a recent paper published in the journal Environmental Health Perspectives, University of New Mexico researchers found that those tiny particles – microplastics – are having a significant impact on our digestive pathways, making their way from the gut and into the tissues of the kidney, liver and brain. “Over the past few decades, microplastics have been found in the ocean, in animals and plants, in tap water and bottled water,” Castillo, says. “They appear to be everywhere.” Scientists estimate that people ingest 5 grams of microplastic particles each week on average – equivalent to the weight of a credit card. Over a four-week period, Castillo, postdoctoral fellow Marcus Garcia, PharmD, and other UNM researchers exposed mice to microplastics in their drinking water. The amount was equivalent to the quantity of microplastics humans are believed to ingest each week. Microplastics had migrated out of the gut into the tissues of the liver, kidney and even the brain, the team found. The study also showed the microplastics changed metabolic pathways in the affected tissues. “We could detect microplastics in certain tissues after the exposure,” Castillo says. “That tells us it can cross the intestinal barrier and infiltrate into other tissues.” Castillo says he’s also concerned about the accumulation of the plastic particles in the human body. “These mice were exposed for four weeks,” he says. “Now, think about how that equates to humans, if we're exposed from birth to old age.” He has previously found that microplastics are also impacting macrophages – the immune cells that work to protect the body from foreign particles. In a paper published in the journal Cell Biology & Toxicology in 2021, Castillo and other UNM researchers found that when macrophages encountered and ingested microplastics, their function was altered and they released inflammatory molecules. “It is changing the metabolism of the cells, which can alter inflammatory responses,” Castillo says. “During intestinal inflammation – states of chronic illness such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, which are both forms of inflammatory bowel disease – these macrophages become more inflammatory and they’re more abundant in the gut.”
  3. Posted this on the Master's thread but apropos this thread too. Last year there was a drive to show up because they wanted to prove that they could still compete. This year, most of the dude's don't give a shit about competing on any tour. They've made the 10s/100s of $Millions and are basically entertainers. They are no longer athletes who compete. Also Rahm made a comment that Cantlay and Homa gave him the cold shoulder at the Masters. What the fuck did you think was gonna happen, Jon? You sold out. Your peers think way less of you. Supposedly Phil did say much during the Champions dinner. I think they are in their final stage of Grief. They accept that they've ruined friendships and their legacy by selling out.
  4. Rumors are the Sergio paid for the improvements on 10th hole tee box and 1st hole chipping green/tee box at Lions Muni in Austin. He's also a hugh proponent in Save Muny. Plus he's a HUGE UT fan because of his wife. I don't hate him so much. But his tweet from Aug 3 did not age well.
  5. Astrology "Influencer". That's all you need know. BAT.SHIT.CRAZY. https://www.9news.com.au/world/eclipse-mom-who-threw-2-kids-onto-la-freeway-killing-her-infant-appeared-agitated-by-impending-eclipse/05d6526c-23c9-40e0-8cee-dfaa21f999b3 Los Angeles police believe Danielle Cherakiyah Johnson, 34, posted on X as an astrology influencer and recording artist with the moniker "Ayoka," in the days leading up to the violence, which began hours before the eclipse peaked in Southern California, Lieutenant Guy Golan said. While detectives have reviewed Johnson's posts, police are not considering the eclipse to be a precipitating or contributing factor to the slayings "because we just don't know why she did what she did," Golan told The Associated Press. The Los Angeles Times first reported on Johnson's social media activities in connection with the killings. "Get your protection on and your heart in the right place," she posted April 4 to more than 105,000 followers on X. "The world is very obviously changing right now and if you ever needed to pick a side, the time to do right in your life is now. Stay strong you got this." On April 5, she posted in all caps, "Wake up wake up the apocalypse is here. Everyone who has ears listen. Your time to choose what you believe is now." Her social media also included a mix of antisemitic screeds, conspiracy theories about vaccines and warnings about the end of the world alongside astrological predictions and positive affirmations. Also on April 5, she posted the word "LOVE" dozens of times. Her personal website offers a variety of services including "zodiac healing work," "alcohol balancing system" and an "aura cleanse".
  6. Tiger prob killed some dude with that screaming hook out of the trees.
  7. Lulz. Tiger continuing no pars life after the 2nd. Birdie, bogey, bogey, birdie, bogey, birdie. Jesus.
  8. Tiger is allergic to pars. That scorecard...
  9. I thought I heard someone's wife getting gangbanged in the background!
  10. I love the Masters broadcasts. I am watching more actual golf shots (tracers and shaping) in the last 2 days than a whole years worth of golf TV broadcasts. With that said, holy shit everyone seems to be hitting fades the last 2 days. I can understand cuts into the fast as shit greens to help the ball hold but I'm predominantly seeing fades off the tees into fairways. Someone help me understand, is it because of the 20-30 mph wind or has a cut become the shape of choice on tour?
  11. Thagala is putting like ass. 2nd 20' putt this round that he left 5' short.
  12. Holy shit. Sahith having a meltdown.
  13. Tiger is jealous of Jordan's coaster. Ima bogey after a birdie. Wee!
  14. That putt was from a different zip code. I'm all Team Homa this weekend!
  15. Spieth 2nd round coaster is well under way. Bogey 1st, Birdie 2nd.
  16. Damn, par 3 4th hole is 226 yds, playing 265 yds adjusted for the wind. At the end of the day, I'd like to see that hole's scoring average.
  17. Fundamentals is subjective. No one would EVER teach Scottie's footwork on his swing, but he's striping the shit out of the ball. I hope he never changes it because it's working well. If it works, it works. When Jordan was consistently winning, it wasn't because of his ball striking. He was making putts from all over the green. With that said, I'm not sure why he changed his swing to what it is now. Not sure what was wrong with the previous swing to make such a drastic change. I'd like to see his GIR average now vs when he was winning. I can't imagine it's that much different.
  18. Disposable plastic goods is disposable plastic goods. I'm not the least bit mad that China, whatever the motives, is keeping downward pressure on those products. I'll pay extra money for quality on the more advanced, technical shit, but for disposable crap, I'm usually going cheapest.
  19. If he's not going to make the cut, he's going to maximize his sponsor's air time.
  20. It'll prob be taken down soon. Crazy how one bad chip can lead to a train wreck.
  21. I guess the moral of the story is, if you are going to fake rob someone in public, maybe expect to get real shot.
  22. "Bike lanes house the homeless." That makes no got damned sense but hits all the feels and will get him re-elected for sure.
  23. China deserves all the shit they get. But one thing is for sure, China mass manufacturing keeps prices low, except when asshole corporations inflate the fuck out of prices because some assholes need their $40M annual bonus. I've never purchased anything from Temu. I see their ads all over the net, especially on Instagram. I've perused the site every now and then. They offer fantastically cheap prices for shit that most people don't need but will buy just because it's so cheap. Hence this article... https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/temu-victims-parents-kids-bargain-shopping-ca25ef93?st=tmpfgz0vuohmywu&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink LaTonya Mullins-Mobley was surfing the web for Arizona Cardinals gear when she stumbled across an ad for Temu, the Chinese online-marketplace app known for ultra-discounts. She couldn’t believe the low prices. These days, Mullins-Mobley, who is 53 and works for a cellphone carrier, jokes that she’s “having an affair” with the app. She buys clothing, including T-shirts with Bible quotes for her daughter. She started a sunglasses company, picking up pairs from Temu for $3 and selling them for around $15. Her 19-year-old-daughter, Angeline Mobley, isn’t impressed. Angeline recently made a TikTok in which she begged viewers to take the Temu app away from her mother, actually, any mother, “expeditiously. ASAP. Stat.” She hit a chord. “My mom bought 57 of the same spatulas bc they were .03,” one commenter commiserated. The app is a particular hit with older shoppers—a development that is spawning a new genre of family friction. Gen Z’ers are roasting their moms, dads, grandmothers and uncles as “Temu victims,” saying they are buying cheap and sometimes useless stuff from the site. In March, Temu’s fastest-growing demographic was the 55 to 64 set. Sales attributed to that age group grew 271% since last March, according to Earnest Analytics. Temu is expected to spend nearly $3 billion on advertising this year, according to JPMorgan. As in most bargain shopping, Temu regulars say part of the appeal is stumbling across items they—or anyone—could probably do just fine without. “You’ve lived your life without that pasta spoon rest, but then you see it and you’re like, ‘Wow, that’s genius and it’s only 98 cents, and it’s cute,’ so you need it,” says Chaunda Thompson, a 44-year-old marine shipyard painter in Newport News, Va.
