I don't know how real this interest is, from us or from him, but I like that we are looking in deep SEC country. I remember the decades when we were too scared to even look at GA players because we didn't think we could convince the to come to Texas. This staff says fuck all that. -

Speaking of Johnson, I'm sure he is 100% solid to aggy after seeing their QB go 12/30. I don't know if he'll end up at Texas, but I'm pretty sure he will not end up at aggy. -

On re-watch, I know it's garbage time but Gibson is a damn good runner between the tackles. He looked patient and powerful, had good cuts and really good vision. We have an embarrassment of riches at all the skilled position. -

How can someone purchase buy a fake AA ticket? Are people selling airline tickets in flea markets and shit? "Sure, just take this ticket and hand it to the person before you go on the plane." -

I fucking hated The Hobbit movie (have never re-watched it after initial viewing) because PJ needlessly added shit, characters, and romantic drama for his own ego bullshit. That was a rounding error compared to the bullshit that this series does to Tolkien's works. I mean if you can completely ignore or have never read Tolkien's works, this would probably be enjoyable. Sadly I can't/don't fall into either camp. Motherfucker, this shit is hard to watch. -

Obama 2008 vibes. Kamala is energizing people especially minority women. https://www.rawstory.com/voter-registration-numbers/ Paris emphasized, "For nearly the entire year, more people had been registering as Republicans than as Democrats when signing up to vote in" the two states, which "use party registration and that release this data regularly." On Wednesday, Tom Bonier, with the data firm Target Smart, shared new numbers with CBS News' Major Garrett, according to Mediate. "We're tracking something really interesting right now — it’s a surge in voter registration in key groups ahead of the November election," Garrett said. "Among young Black women, registration is up more than 175%. You heard that right. More than 175% in 13 states. That’s compared to the same time in 2020. This, according to the data firm Target Smart, registration has also increased among young Latinas and Black Americans." Garrett then asked Bonier, "Could that possibly be right? If you must have triple-checked this or many more times than that." The data expert replied, "You’re right to repeat the number because I more than triple-checked it. It’s incredibly unusual to see changes in voter registration that are anywhere close to this. I mean, there might be 175% is almost tripling of registration rates among this specific group. You just don’t see that sort of thing happen in elections normally." Responding to the question of what the increase says about voter "enthusiasm," Bonier said, "Tells us a lot. The reason that we look at this voter registration data is because the polls will only tell us so much. The polls tell us how people are going to vote. They don’t tell us if or who is going to vote. It’s a big question.'" He emphasized, "The best indicator of that is the actions that people are taking. Number one, registering to vote. Someone who says, I want to participate in this election. And so as we’ve seen these questions of which side has the advantage and intensity and enthusiasm, we look for changes in voter registration like this. People who are newly registered to vote are much more likely to vote on Election Day." -

September coup? Maybe Prigozhin is alive and hiding with Tupac. This may explain the Popov's arrest. https://www.dagens.com/war/unconfirmed-reports-suggest-potential-wagner-coup-in-september In recent weeks, rumors and speculation have surged regarding a potential coup in Russia, with the focus shifting to the Wagner Group, a private military company formerly led by Yevgeny Prigozhin. Kremlin is Concerned These claims, originating from the enigmatic social media profile General SVR, have yet to be confirmed but have sparked significant intrigue and concern. According SE, General SVR claimed that former Wagner fighters are reportedly receiving mysterious directives urging them to be prepared for events in September. This has fueled speculation that a new uprising or significant political move could be imminent. The profile, which purports to be run by former Russian intelligence agents, has not been independently verified, raising questions about its credibility. The timing of these reports coincides with ongoing discussions within the Kremlin about Russia's involvement in Ukraine. The profile suggests that the Kremlin is increasingly concerned about the internal crisis and the possibility of a major shift in Russian military and political dynamics. Could Still be Alive Adding to the intrigue, there are renewed rumors that Yevgeny Prigozhin, who was thought to have died in a helicopter crash in August, might still be alive. Former Wagner members reportedly believe that Prigozhin could be orchestrating the recent signals and instructions from hiding. This theory, if true, would suggest that Prigozhin remains a significant and active player in Russian politics and military affairs.

China: hold my beer. https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/30/china/china-crying-toddler-airplane-bathroom-hnk-intl/index.html A toddler cried non-stop during a flight. Two strangers locked her in the bathroom Two airline passengers who locked a stranger’s crying grandchild in a plane restroom have caused outrage in China and sparked a heated online debate on how to handle upset children in public spaces. The incident went viral this week after one of the two women involved posted a video on Chinese social media, which showed them inside a locked lavatory with the wailing girl, who appeared to be about a year old. “We won’t let you out unless you stop crying,” a woman sitting on the toilet told the toddler as she struggled out of the adult’s lap and reached for the door, according to the video posted on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok. As the girl stopped crying, the woman filming the video picked her up and told her: “If you make any noise again, we’ll come back (to the bathroom).” The incident took place August 24 aboard a Juneyao Airlines flight from the southwestern city of Guiyang to Shanghai. The toddler was flying with her grandparents and cried non-stop during the nearly three-hour flight, the airline said in a statement Monday. The two passengers took the child to the restroom to “educate her” with her grandmother’s consent, the statement added. But a day later, as criticism mounted, the airline’s customer service department apologized for the incident and “oversight of the crew,” adding it condemned the two passengers’ behavior, according to the state-run Southern Metropolis Daily. One of the women, who posted the video online, said her intention was to ensure a “restful flight” for other passengers. But her post quickly met a backlash, with many social media users accusing her of being heartless and bullying the child. The video was later deleted. “Adults in their 30s can have emotional breakdowns, but people don’t allow toddlers to have theirs,” said one comment on China’s X-like Weibo platform, garnering thousands of likes. “We were all once children … Don’t be a cold-blooded adult,” read another popular comment. Many others expressed concern that the incident may negatively impact the child’s mental health. Multiple Chinese state media outlets have also weighed in, accusing the two women of “inappropriate” behavior and calling for “greater understanding” from the public toward young children who cannot control their emotions. In recent years, complaints about young children crying or acting out on flights and trains have regularly trended on Chinese social media, with many accusing parents of not doing enough to manage their kids’ behavior. -

I guess this thread is prob the best thread to put this. https://www.npr.org/2024/08/28/nx-s1-5091883/middle-high-school-football-players-deaths-august At least 7 middle and high school football players have died in August Cohen Craddock's family and loved ones are mourning the loss of the friendly eighth-grader who loved being on the football team at Madison Middle School in West Virginia, days after Cohen suffered a head injury during practice. Craddock says his son died on Saturday, after experiencing brain bleeding and swelling. Cohen, 13, was playing defense during practice drills this past Friday when he took a bad hit involving another player and fell. The Coal Valley News reports that Cohen was wearing a helmet at the time — but his father says he wants players to have more protection. In addition to Cohen and Caden, at least five other young football players have died this month: Aug. 5: At Hopewell High School in central Virginia, 10th grader Javion Taylor, 15, collapsed during a drill session with the junior varsity team and died in an afternoon practice. Coaches performed CPR and called 911, but Taylor died at a nearby hospital. The high temperature that day was around 90 degrees. Aug. 13: Semaj Wilkins, 14, died after having a medical emergency during a practice at New Brockton High School, near Enterprise, Ala. He collapsed during an afternoon practice on a day with a reported high of 96 degrees. Aug. 13: Palatka High School football player Robert James Gillon III, 15, died at his home in Palatka, Fla., the morning after a practice. Local TV station News 4 Jax reports that police believe he apparently died of natural causes but that they also "earned that Gillon complained of chest pains on Monday, Aug. 12, before going to football practice. He still went to practice and returned home." Aug. 14: Junior Leslie Noble, a 16-year-old lineman at Franklin High School near Baltimore, Md., collapsed on the field during practice and was later pronounced dead. A police dispatcher noted that the player had heatstroke. Aug. 14: During a practice at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Kansas, near Kansas City, Mo., sophomore Ovet Gomez-Regalado, 15, collapsed. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died. The National Center for Catastrophic Sport Injury Research reported 16 football-related deaths in all of last year, nine of them in middle and high school programs. Out of the 16 deaths, three were directly related to football participation, while 10 were indirectly related, according to NCCSIR.

Two dudes are fighting. A non-fighting participant pulls out a gun and shoots at the other fighter, a non-fighting participant friend of the other fighter pulls out his gun and returns fire, poorly I guess, the other fighter grabs that gun and shoots the original shooter. Original shooter dead. No murder charges against the dude who knows how to aim because original shooter shot first. Self defense, bro. I think I got that right. America, Fuck Yeah! https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/no-murder-charges-teen-killed-buda-texas-erick-marin/269-2ce3559c-06b4-459f-ab11-499d5a234902 The videos revealed a relative of Marin's went to the Shadow Creek neighborhood to fight a 21-year-old. During the fight, Marin pulled out a gun and started shooting at the 21-year-old. A teenager in the opposite group pulled out a gun and returned fire. The 21-year-old then grabbed that gun and killed Marin. The District Attorney's Office reviewed all the footage and determined Marin was the first person to pull out and fire his gun, concluding that the shooting was justified under Texas laws related to self-defense and defense of a third person. A grand jury agreed and voted to no-bill the case. However, the other people involved in the incident may still face charges related to conduct.

Sounds like a business opportunity. APIs into companies who operate cameras on US roads. Query their license plate read databases on a timely basis. Alert whomever via whatever when certain plates are read. How fucking easy is that? -
Through knowing someone involved in the Paxton whistle blowers case, I know some not public details about Paxton. He's an absolute piece of shit. Everyone in the lege knows what a piece of shit he is. That a majority of Republican state reps voted in his favor tells you what a fucking cesspool the state Republican leadership has become. Fuck this state.
