Big Bend - Alpine - Marfa - Fort Davis
We did the latter a couple weeks ago and liked it.. great views the whole way.. I have never done the former. Sorry I'm not more help. You could do Lost Mines and Window in the same time it would take to do either of these.. that's another option. Both are great trails..Lost Mine being my favorite..

Anyone with a soul wants Yuli back cause he's an OG fan favorite and the 2nd best 1st baseman in franchise history. Plus, he was awesome in this last WS run. It's probably not a good baseball decision to bring him back and that sucks, but if we're going to remain on top we the FO has to keep making smart moves. Maybe there's a place for him in the organization as a coach or heading up the Cuban pipeline somehow.

This is assuming that another team will give him that much. I'm holding hope that the Astros have the strongest offer... or at least in the ballpark and maybe its close enough for JV to want to remain on a contending team. Also, the Cali team's have to contend with the state income tax. One can dream.

Not a fan of our guys participating in this. I wish they would assemble team USA from dudes who didn't play in November.

Frisco state rep files bill to dissolve Austin city govt, create District of Austin
This thread seems like a wonderful opportunity to use the actions of one dipshit to shit on all the people in a city. I see some of you are already cashing in.

The GM search is going to be very interesting. The new guy will be tasked with keeping the well oiled machine humming.. They won't get to build or rebuild a franchise, their challenge will be unique in that so much that the organization already does works extremely well. That requires a special type of person and not necessarily a "builder." Crane's insistence on taking his time with the hire should give everyone here a great deal of comfort.. He knows this is the case and I have confidence he'll get the right guy. In all honesty, he's 2 for 2 on GM hires so there's that too.

I could be wrong, but if the Astros FO feel strongly about Chas, Meyers, and Leon that may push them to stay away from the free agent outfielders this cycle. And if they bring in Contreras to play LF when he's not the part time catcher, then that may speak volumes about what they know about Brantley and his injury.

Text Before Calling: Phone Call SOPs
I own a business and my role is largely sales related so I'm all over the map on this one. I cold call my family I cold call my staff I cold call certain customers who I know are old school (and cold call me in return) I'll warm up a call to other customers who I know prefer to text/email, but I make sure to get them on the phone and make it a priority to see them in person when I can. I get pissed when associates don't answer the phone when I need something IF they are not responding by text or email. I seem to get the answer I want more often than not when I speak to someone on the phone or see them in person. "No" is very easy to text, and being ghosted is even easier. My approach currently works for me, but if it stops, I am flexible for sure. I feel like my willingness to travel and see my customers in person gives me a huge advantage over my competition as they have reverted to text/zoom and they have indicated as much. I can see how everyone is different though..

Big Bend - Alpine - Marfa - Fort Davis
I wad there 2 weeks ago. We stayed at Pat O's place in Terlingua Ghost town.. Tuesday: We drove in from DFW, literally taking the scenic route through Presidio and back over to Terlingua. We ate in Terlingua at that Bar-grill with the colorful lights, forgot the name. It was ok.. Wedensday: woke up early and went to Chisos Mtn lodge, hiked Emory Peak via Pinnacles. It was amazing. I did not do the last 25 feet up top.. it was windy and I found that to be a bit unsettling. We dined that night at Starlight theater. The filet was great, and the chili was solid.. Thusday: Back to Chisos mountain lodge, and we hiked Lost Mine Trail. This was probably my favorite trail of the week. I couldn't believe we were still in Texas seeing some of those views. We left and drove the Ross Maxwell scenic drive and back up Old Maverick road.. my check engine light had been on but after the washboard roads on Old Maverick I guess it vibrated off.. so that was nice.. We ended up doing a raft tour on the State Park side that was pretty cool. That night we ate at Long Draw Pizza.. it was great. Friday: Chisos again and The Window Trail early in the AM. Boquillas in the PM. I insisted on getting Burros and not horses and that was a fantastic decision. Mexico was a great experience, but I personally wouldn't be interested in going back on a return trip.. The food was solid though, we bought lunch for Lupe who was our guide. 4 dollar beers and 9 dollar Margaritas didn't really scream Mexico to me, but I guess they can charge whatever they want. That night we went back to Starlight.. the band was awesome, the singer sounded pretty damn close to Loretta Lynn.. Saturday: Breakfast Tacos at that place by starlight.. they were amazing. Then to Lajitas for golf. Absolutely the best golf course I've ever played. Wife got a massage right as I teed off and met me at 9 with 2 coolers of beer. That night we ended back up at Long Draw Pizza.. good once again. Great trip. If you love Texas it will make you love it even more. What a fantastic place.
