  1. As an aside, my wife and kids are asleep, I have a glass of whiskey at my feet, headphones on, Spotify open and a Les Paul around my neck. So anyway, Journey rules.
  2. Let me tell you guys something - as a lifelong musician, drummer and wannabe singer and guitarist - Journey rose so above other bands of their era and I'll that it's almost astounding. Power ballads and rock rippers Schon and Steve Smith And the voice of Perry. They werent Genesis or Yes. Or Styx. But they also weren't guns and roses or Def Leppard. I love em. They rocked on a higher level than their peers. They've been reduced, I'm afraid to karaoke go-to anthems, but the their catalog and fidelity is deep. Fight me, I guess?
  3. Do you mean to suggest that at one point you were potentially not going to have cheese on them at all? What in the hell is going on here?! Then again, lots of kudos on the effort to broil them even if it went a little too hot. That shows your intentions were really good. I'm proud of you for that. Also, curly fries.
  4. Inspired by this thread, I went down a VH rabbit hole and I've determined that during Sammy's tenure, they wrote songs that sound exactly how a 14 year old high school freshman dude would imagine a rock band sounding if he could just, you know, "ROCK, DUDE." The song 5150 is a perfect example of what I mean.
  5. Doesn't mean I want her sitting next to me, does it?
  6. Has anyone mentioned Boston sucks yet? (I lived there. I wish I'd only "just visited" because it's an amazing town to visit).
  7. Is there a cheese shortage nobody's told me about?
  8. That sucks. You should take a break and relax. Maybe do some reading. Here's a good link: https://reverb.com/handpicked/deals?product_type=electric-guitars
  9. Playing it with 234 also makes the switch to D harder. Then again it makes E easier so what do I know. When in doubt listen to JJ. Over time you'll also start to recognize prevailing change patterns in certain types of music - some chords tend to follow one another with lots of regularity - so you can get better at anticipating the best finger forms for switching between them. But listen to JJ and these guys.
  10. For melty applications, especially on this thread, there ain't a got damn thing wrong with American cheese. Especially Kraft singles. I get the 2% kind so my figure stays nice and svelte.
  11. Ew, Mr. Apple. You have a brown spot!
  12. Oh, man. We got a live one, folks! This is how it all begins.
  13. Team solid bodies, but they all pretty.
  14. Apropos of nothing you didn't list egg but in saying breakfast taco I assumed egg in there. Right?
  15. Phil Collins has stated, "I'm not a singer who plays a bit of drums. I'm a drummer that sings a bit."
  16. That is so awesome. Must just be mind-blowing to find yourself playing with someone you grew up listening to. Of all the hours and hours of my fantasizing about being on stage or in a studio with my heroes, that it actually happens for some people is crazy to me.
  17. He's got a hell of an (underrated) voice. And a damn good, down-to-earth drummer.
  18. Um, then what other four people did you have over to eat that thing? Looks great, by the way.
  19. I regret sincerely that I'm typing this, but I've not had pizza dipped in queso.... Yet.
  20. Neil Diamond when I was probably 5 years old (and then a few times in the few years after that - early 80s). With my dad, I went to see Chicago and CSNY as a pretty little kid and that was awesome, even if it wasn't "cool" for me at the time. My first real show with no parental drop-off/chaperone was probably Lynyrd Skynyrd in 8th or 9th grade. Also saw Bruce Hornsby around then and then a few more high-school friendly shows (New Order, etc.). I wanted desperately to see Huey Lewis and the News when I was in elementary school but my parents wouldn't let me go because one of his hits was about wanting a new drug. Goddammit.
  21. I'll tell you where I'd LIKE to stick it.
  22. I too love shopping. And yoga pants. It's the more one-off just need stuff for the kids shopping that gets annoying.
