  1. We (ji2.org) are hosting World's smallest comedian Tanyalee Davis Saturday at 6pm at Maggie Mae's. Ticket sales have been trash. We've had two schools reach out for help today, and without events like these going off, we're put in a tight spot when it comes to doing the work we do. PLEASE buy tickets and show up. https://www.ji2.org/events/tanyalee-at-maggie-maes
  2. Long post- apologize for misspelling. Typing on phone Texas vs. atm tailgate recap This game was circled before the season started and was one we knew the tailgate would be huge. A lot of obstacles leading up to this one. Rick was texting me early in the week with fires popping up. Who was going to cook, needing a pit to cook on, fridge space becoming an issue. We ended up renting a pit, a Surly member stepped up with fridge space, and I ended up cooking with help from David. Thursday 11/27 I started the morning in New Braunfels with family for Thanksgiving. Had a great time, ate a hefty lunch, and left at 3pm for Austin. I got home, loaded up all the site stuff into my truck, took a quick shower, and drove to SE Austin to pick up the food. A Surly person that helps operate a nonprofit let us use their fridge space. Upon arrival we loaded up the pork butts and briskets into my truck. We then talked about their nonprofit and mine for a bit. From there I ran to Lot 30 with food and site equipment in hand. When I arrived around 7:15/30 David was already there and had the fire going in the pit. Clutch. We learned really quick that the fire box ate wood like crazy. But whatever. We then got the briskets seasoned, got needed equipment out and began. Around 9 I got hungry, and ran to McDonald's for some food. Nuggets were badass, the temperature in the pit was a pain in the ass. There was a consistent 100 or more degree difference between the front and back of the pit. It was annoying, but kept us awake as we were moving meat often. Gameday 11/28 Around 1am, David went home to shower and sleep. He was 1 of my replacements for that morning and needed to grab some sleep. I was then on my own from then until 9:30am. Kept the fire going, moved meats, mopped them in tallow, and took 2, 30 minute naps. Rick text me around 5am to check in. Got him updated on temps, and wood. Like most of us, we were short on wood. He said he'd get some on the way over. Around 9:15am, most of the meat was.ready to be thrown in the cooler, and around 9:30am Rick showed up to relieve me of duty. I went home showered, passed the fuck out and woke up at 1pm ready to party. My buddy going to the game with me met me at my place and we drove over. When I got there, I check in on the pit and saw David was manning it. Things looked relatively smooth. From there, I went to the site. Upon arrival, it looked like people were having a good time. Rick was running around a lot, and I offered to help where needed. I was then put on meat duty and sliced briskets and pulled the pork. After that, it was time to eat a little, hangout, and help as needed. After a bit I went to check in on David and see what was going on at the pit. He was a little flustered. Wood was gone, and was by himself. Asked what he needed, and got it to him. Once the rib roast arrived, we told him to come down and party. Food was great, vibes were immaculate, weather was perfect. Maybe an hour and a half before kickoff, the battery powering everything went out. I changed that out, and hung out and helped until it was time to walk over to the stadium. On the walk over aggies were chirping about how confident they were, and that they were going to win. I started to quote the viral video from one of their yell leaders and that struck a nerve with them. Others caught on and started doing the same thing. Inside the stadium was great. Wish we were a bit louder. I was lower bowl and there were only a handful of us making noise throughout the game. I still made a difference though and made enough noise to cause Texas to win the game. Post game, I arrived back at the site and saw that the new battery had died. My buddy and I began to pack things up and break down the site one last time. We let the bell hop people know we were ready to go. The group in front of us apparently had no idea what they were doing and had the bell hop dude for 15 minutes. I made the executive decision to drive my truck down to the sire and load everything up. As we were loading everything up, I was debating getting home and calling an Uber to go and party downtown. Vibes were high. This sounded like a great idea until my ass hit the seat to drive home and I was hit with tiredness. In about a half second I decided I'd be ordering a pizza, eating that, and going straight to sleep. Got home, unloaded, cleaned things that needed to be cleaned, and called my aggie friends to remind them who Daddy is. Final thoughts Overall, great time. Cooking from 7:30pm to 9:30am was something I hadn't done before, but it was nice. Seeing gameday staff arrive and other tailgate people.arrive early was cool. Telling an aggie that walked by, "Hope you lose" after he greeted me while cooking was nice. 10 out of 10 would do again. Hope you all had a great time. If you want to show gratitude, show up to this Saturday- https://www.ji2.org/events/tanyalee-at-maggie-maes 20251127_201411.mp4 20251127_205517.mp4 20251127_222048.mp4 20251127_225918.mp4 20251127_234942.mp4 20251128_085037.mp4

  22. It's for all day tomorrow. It's around 1100 cans, and a few boxes of liquor. UT has security out there overnight to watch the alcohol and what not. There were actually a lot of other folks unloading drinks and tvs. Tomorrow is going to be a madhouse. Might be why they said we could do it a day early.
  23. Hope y'all are ready for tomorrow 🤘 Snapchat-533809834.mp4
