  1. You had shirts? We got trucker caps with iron on letters and that was it. We all played good defense tho because there was not a blade of grass within 5 miles of our home baseball diamond. Just sand and gravel and bad hop after bad hop. edit: boy scouts was the same. I got a cap and a tie. And a guide book full of impossible things I was never going to see the materials to build.
  2. Disable the AFM/DFM with a reflash
  3. Wow I didn't know about this. You can also turn that off completely, I helped a buddy get his ECU or whatever flashed to turn that off completely. As I recall it cost us about $200.
  4. Yeah don't like that cylinder shut of feature. Direct Injection is supposedly causing problems also, but what I don't get about the valvetrain failures & etc. associated with the cylinder shutoff/fuel saving thing (AFM/DFM, they turn off valve lifters to shut off 4 cylinders more or less) is they've been using it on cars for years. Always wanted a Toyota but I typically buy 3/4 ton trucks (don't get me started on diesel engines holy fuck) /hijack
  5. Took one of the best rosters UTEP had in years, which he deserves credit for, and won all of 12 games. Most UTEP fans assumed he was fired.
  6. When I was a kid my family and the neighbors would put on big team roping jackpots, and I would handle the chutes and I had a heeler that would bring back the steers on command. Team roping can be a touch hazardous and one of the things that happens from time to time is a roper will lose a thumb while running some rope through their hands really fast, like right before they dally, and a kink develops in the rope and takes your thumb off as it runs through it. Anyway this happened right in front of me at one of our jackpots, to a guy we knew, and we were able to put his thumb on ice and he got it sewed back on, but not before I had to fetch my dog and take the thumb out of his mouth.
  7. My father never had a job, ran cows until he died. When I was just out of college I was complaining about a bad boss and he was in the middle of giving me some (probably very good) advice when I realized out loud, "Have you ever even had a boss?"
  8. "Make sure he sees you give the horns down!" How do these geniuses know that steer isn't a Tech fan?
  9. rtdb or ttft I always thought Ehlinger's GFY play was just QB Power.
  10. Ed Hochuli officiating this game that I did not know happened in 1984
  11. The idea of this team making the tournament this year just makes me not want to watch the tournament. Rodney Terry was a popular and appreciated coach in El Paso, where I'm from. We were initially gobsmacked at the talent he identified and brought to UTEP. Players would even improve during the year, but the team would not and it just didn't look like he knew how to coach basketball and nothing has changed and I've had to watch this twice now.
