  1. Not sorry I missed it.
  2. (sigh) Yes those decisions aren't made by accountants.
  3. The vid of the 737 simulator replicating the "extreme mis-trim" scenario described in the Seattle Times article above has been taken down apparently, in googling around for it I found this: https://leehamnews.com/2019/04/03/et302-used-the-cut-out-switches-to-stop-mcas/ ET302 used the Cut-Out switches to stop MCAS By Bjorn Fehrm Note: The article offered a Video as an example of the effects of not trimming to neutral before hitting Cut-Off. After reviewing the effects of the video in the context of the article, MentourPilot decided we should leave the text but not include the video any longer. MentourPilot’s YouTube channel is an independent initiative to offer the public correct and positive information of all the work which is behind their safe travel in the skies. In the sensitive situation of an ongoing investigation of the crash of ET302, where not all facts are on the table, he concluded after discussing the impression the video left with a colleague, it was not in line with his intent of setting up the channel. In the haste of the change we took this as his company not wanting the video aired, it was not. As facts in the ET302 case comes forward we will discuss with MentourPilot if this situation changes. 4. ^ from the Seattle Times article upthread https://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/boeings-emergency-procedure-for-737-max-may-have-failed-on-ethiopian-flight/
  5. The way Acevedo and other HPD mouthpieces have slandered this couple is really the icing on the cake for me.
  6. I guess I'll check back here in about 340 days to see how the season went, because I'm not watching this fucking clown next year.
  7. 12v on the build sheet on the prior page
  8. Hadn't seen this, in the podcast Mandel relates that Herman told him Ehlinger is one of only 6 P5 QBs w/ at least 15 rushing & 25 passing TDs in the last 20 years. The other 5 won the Heisman.
  9. It's happening.gif?
  10. The initial few model years did not. I was under the impression they were out of that business, but I just checked their website and they now spec a "CT" line of engines. (I don't really count Mack as you can't spec their motors in another truck. As far as I know.) I shopped for a 2016 or 2017 Paccar and at that time there were two only 2 options, Cummins/Navistar, and Volvo (my understanding at the time is the Paccar engines were a Cummins short block and Valvetrain by Navistar).
  11. Buddy of mine buys a new truck every few years, the one he drives now is an 2018 I think and makes 650 hp (although he reports 4 mpg "loaded, unloaded, 60 mph, 90 mph" so there is that, although he may have flashed his cpu or whatever for more hp. He is a younger dude). I can remember the Detroit 8-71 being considered "big" and I think that was about 320 hp. I still want a big truck w/ an 8-71 in it (drove a feed truck in HS w/ a 6-71, like a mid 70's Jimmy w/ a 2 speed axle. Topped out at about 50 mph....) /csb Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we down to just 2 engine mfg.s for otr trucks? I ran a radio for a while when I was in the ohl fill a few years ago and never picked up much traffic. Although we weren't on the interstate much, I hoped to hear if the dot was open between Pecos and Midland when we did need to use I-10. And I never heard shit. Is that thing useful to you on a regular basis?

  13. Where you been bruh? RFD is for real farmers & ranchers, not the fighting hullabaloo-caneck-caneck kind. csb before the internet really took off RFD was the best way to sell livestock as they hosted televised auctions where sellers would submit video tape of their animals. We sold a few barrel and roping horses on there via video. So been using RFD for a long time, def not aggy.
  14. Jesus. What the fuck are you dorks talking about? j/k but I had to google all of the above, rep incoming.
  15. From the LA Times article above
  16. As I understand it, they moved the engines forward with respect to the wing, so under power it tended to increase the angle of attack and therefore increase the likelihood of a stall.
  17. To be more precise they moved the engine in a way that altered how it flew enough to spawn that automated kludge to correct it which is now implicated in 2 catastrophic crashes. Is the max different from your other examples in its use of tech/automation/sensors (here I refer of course to the MCAS used as the "aerodynamic fix" that accommodated the engine change), or simply that they fucked it up (from the documentation to communication/ training, design, etc.)? Should they have just said "the max requires x hours of sim training due to higher propensity to stall resulting from the new engines and their placement " instead of designing the mcas? Edit Forgot to add that I really appreciate your contributions on this topic
  18. The whole idea of relocating the engines like that seems a bit janky for a modern passenger airplane.
  19. Last I heard they were exempted only thru August of this year.
  20. I don't know how the cattle pots are going to deal with elogs.
  21. Do we know the "add-on" would have prevented either crash?

  23. No link but apparently there are ~20k Cuban security forces in country, there presence may have a mitigating effect on the military taking out Maduro.
