Anyone have a Steam Deck or thinking of getting the Asus ROG Ally? It's appealing to me as my kids use a Switch, which I like because of the content and their ages. But I have taken about a decade long hiatus from gaming myself and I enjoy sports titles like Madden, shooters like COD and Counter-Strike, and would like a system that can run Hogwarts Legacy with top graphics (unlike the purported switch version coming out this summer). I'd like the option of playing on a TV with wireless controllers but also using a mouse and keyboard if I want to for shooters. I don't know how much I'd actually use it as a handheld, but it seems like it would be easy to take on the road, to the office or even to hide from my kids so they couldn't play titles I don't want them to play. I also see the ROG Ally as something I could dock and use as a computer for Microsoft office, web browsing, etc. I previously debated just getting a budget gaming PC but this sounds more versatile, and offers more of a game system feel that I could use with the kids on the couch with the big screen TV. Price isn't bad on the Ally either. Seems to me that Ally is better than Steam deck with capabilities but worse for battery and interface (although I don't think steam deck would be an easy to use docked PC).
