Yep. We win 2-0 in 11. Our offense was sporadic to say the least throughout this California trip. Very underwhelming today. That could portend difficulties later in the season.
-
We very much looked mortal today. Agreed. I think we will be good this season but there will definitely be a drop off. Hard not to have one after losing the most decorated senior class in the history of the sport.
-
Maybe I’ll work up to a tri down the road. For now I’m going to work on getting my daughter and I ready to run the full 10k. After that I may look at a half marathon later in the year. I love the thought of being able to complete a tri. Not many people in the world can do what you guys have accomplished.
-
The swim part of any tri, sprint, Olympic, 70.3, is the part that concerns me. Grew up in the water on lakes skiing and swimming so comfortable in the water. But even swimming the 750 meters in the sprint seems daunting. That seems like it would be challenging. Like anything though, it’s all about the training.

Sitting here at the office at the house today. Have Phoenix going on one screen. Decided to put LIV on the TV. It’s on FS2. I’ve never watched a second of LIV since it’s inception. It is… interesting. They’re in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And they’re playing live right now, at night there. Course is completely lit up. Odd to hear music from somewhere playing on the course while they’re playing. And the crowd is, well, let’s just say it’s sparse. Good golf being played though.

Finished day 1 of getting back at it. @Clintonaldo you gave me too much credit, lol. Did a full 10k but combination walk briskly/jog lightly. Did jog a straight 2 miles in 22 minutes at one point. Way off of my old 27 minute 5k pace. I have a lot of work to do and a lot of sedentary to undo. Fortunately we habe 10 weeks to get ready. You guys that do the Ironman stuff are awesome. Don’t know that I’ll ever have that desire. Right now I’d be happy with getting in good enough shape to run a half marathon.

Well, I guess it’s time to join this party. I’m about to turn 55 and have run and played tennis among other active pursuits all my life. Life got in the way the last 6 months and I’ve done basically nothing. My daughter is a senior in high school and captain of her varsity tennis team but not a runner. No pics assholes! She asked me to train with her to run a 10k Easter weekend. So the training starts tomorrow. Pray for me. 🤣

Really good point about the schedules JS. Larger conferences creating that chaos of unbalance across most sports.
-
I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone else sneak into the top 3. And if that happens I’d guess it will be OU that will drop. It’s all going to come down to the girls in the circle for us.
-
Agreed. Not discounting them at all. Just have a hunch they’ll finish third. Wouldn’t be a surprise to see any of those three win the SEC tournament. Everything for all three of those teams is about getting ready for OKC in May.
-
Maybe the best senior class in the history of the sport. I’ll let others opine on that. I don’t think we’ll take a huge step back either. I could see a 48-12 or 50-10 type season coming up though. Our non-conference schedule should allow Patty to do work getting the team ready for the SEC grind. I still think it comes down to OU/UT at the top of the conference. It’s going to be a fun ride getting there though.
-
It’s going to be an interesting first season in the SEC for both of us. I’m ready for softball to start, not to mention baseball. I don’t get the consternation of OU slotting in at 3 in the preseason rankings. I think that’s fair given what we lost. Let’s just get on the diamond and get the games going this week!

We have the Golfzon sims at my place. Company out of South Korea. They really are the best sims on the market. They have separate mats that simulate fairway, rough, fairway bunker and greenside bunker shots. As I mentioned, it’s not real golf, but it is the closest thing to real golf indoors. It also has putting. The putting takes some time to get used to but once you do it’s fairly realistic. They’re also the only sim on the market that has the area you stand on powered by hydraulics that mimics your lie on the course, uphill, downhill, side hill, etc. The accuracy on the Golfzon sims rivals Trackman. And it has an autotee function so you never have to tee your ball up. I have some videos playing holes from around the world on our facebook page. Search for swingzonegolf on FB if you care to see those sims in action.

Business is good, very good. And while I agree personally that this is the best time of year to play golf, I’m also one of the guys that heat doesn’t bother and I’ll walk in the summer in the heat and humidity. That being said, there are a lot of people that would rather play indoors than outdoors the next few months. That’s a good thing for me professionally, lol.

As someone who owns an indoor golf simulator bar and restaurant in North Houston, I highly recommend keeping your swing tuned up on sims the next couple of months. It’s not real golf, but it is the closest thing to real golf indoors. Depending on which sims any places near you are rocking it’s great practice and damn fun.
